Chapter 232

Alfreds POV

I stood outside the door and listened to Richard and Sarah yelling at each other. It sounded like what I told Vanessa. Except Vanessa never yelled back. She would calmly respond to me, and that was it. We never actually yelled at each other, which was strange. We argued, and I would get mad at her and then walk away. Vanessa was still in the room with them. She was probably sitting on the bed, laughing at them. I heard something hit the wall. That was my cue to walk into the room. Opened the door. Sarah had Richard pinned against the wall. He was apologizing, trying to get her to let him go. However, I think he was toying with her. He could get out of her grip if he really wanted to. However, I don't think that he really wanted to.

He had a smile on his face and was acting like he was enjoying what she was doing. He finally had enough of the game and pushed her back gently, and threw her over his shoulder. I knew he could get out of it if he really wanted to. He was choosing to let her think she had the upper hand. That was no surprise at all. He patted her on the butt and then exited the room. You could hear her down and up the stairs, asking him to put her down and let her go. You could hear him say, "No chance in hell." I laughed at them. Vanessa was sitting on the bed.

" Baby, are you OK?"

I was finally settled down enough to have a conversation with her.

"Alfred, I know what I'm doing."

" Sasha will protect the babies when I use my powers."

" I can't shift right now."

" Which means the only two ways I can fight are with my power and with my fist."

She made a fist to emphasize her words, which I was happy to see. She was shaping up to be a great Luna and Queen. It was hard to believe that this was the same girl I brought home. When I found her, she was broken. Now look at her. She is doing amazing.

" I know you can shift right now."

" I know you want to help."

" You still need to be careful."

I wanted to do an experiment after the war was over. I wanted Sarah and Vanessa to combine their powers again and see if they could open the portal to the underworld. There is a legend that says it could happen. It has been said that the white wolf and a vampire witch could open the portal to the underworld. The underworld is where all the evil werewolves go. They don't go to be with the moon goddess because she only accepts back the wolves that have been good on earth. It is said that if you could go to the underworld, you could watch the werewolves that are being tortured there, even rescue someone who is not meant to be there. I wasn't sure if you could even do it. If we could not, it was no big deal. Right now, we need to focus on the war unfolding before us. Which was the priority? Also, protecting these two rare treasures was a necessity. Richard had mentioned that some rogue werewolves were after Sarah.

Again, they are part of us. Why would you want to use them for bad? They could be our future. I want to ensure they are protected to the best of our abilities. In the wrong hands, they could be convinced to use their powers for evil. By the way, when I say convinced, I mean someone could cast a spell on them to use their power. I know that it would take something like that for Vanessa to use her powers for evil. I wasn't so sure about Sarah. I knew Richard would have rejected her if he thought that she was evil. Richard was not like that. I'm sure he put her through every test imaginable. He was like that. He killed his first mate because she had killed their children, because Richard would not let her do what she wanted. It was kind of sad to say that, but it was the truth.

He felt he needed to protect his people. I understood, but I know it changed him. Sarah is his second chance mate. Vanessa ia my first chance mate. Everything is going amazingly between us. After I finished scolding her, I pulled her into an embrace. She hugged me back. We both said at the same time.

" I'm glad you're safe."

We both laughed. We decided that it would be best for all of us to stay in the secret room. I cooked dinner while the girls chatted. I knew that we could not keep them in this room forever. Eventually, Richard and Sarah would leave to go back to her kingdom. He was going to be crowned King of the vampires. Dracula was going to give him powers, as he had given to Hunter. I hope that he won't get stupid and let that power go to his head. Sarah would be queen of the vampires. Which I knew he wasn't ready for. I knew she would take it in stride, just like Vanessa. We ate dinner, then the girls wanted to go for a walk. I had the dead and injured to look on, and Richard had the same responsibility as his people. I mind-linked Stacey because she was on patrol to get over her so she could go walking with them.

Vanessa could still jog if she wanted to. I think she just wanted fresh air. The secret room has no windows. It was designed that way. A walk would do her some good. She changed into some sweats. Richard brought Sarah's bag so she could change as well. I was pleased that they were getting along so well. It was hard to find friends from different species to get along with other people.

"I'll leave you two ladies to go get some air."

Stacey showed up a few minutes later. She was dressed to exercise. I knew these two girls would be tired after working out with Stacey. She was going to make them work. She has them jogging whatnot. Stacey was one of my best warriors, and she would push the female warriors to their breaking points and beyond. So I knew her working with them was a good thing. I had no idea what Sarah's skill level was as far as hand-to-hand combat, but Stacey would teach her a thing or two. Everyone was going to train and patrol. They needed to not slack off now that the war had started. I wanted everyone to be ready for any type of action that might be required. Vanessa had to be careful; if she got hit in the stomach, she could lose the pups.

I knew I would be devastated, and so would she. I then went to the hospital to check on the injured.
