Chapter 54: Selene.
(Author’s Point of View.)
Recalling what she had seen in Reagan’s memory last night, Amelia concluded that the familiar-looking male was none other than Adgan. However, who was the other woman? And why does she feel some sort of Deja vu towards her?” Amelia wondered.
“You are wrong, child; that is not Adgan but instead, Zegan.” Artemis clarified.
“What?” Amelia was perplexed. “I don’t understand. How come this Zegan, and Adgan look like Reagan?” Amelia could not make sense of any of this at all, she still couldn’t understand how it was possible that Reagan’s wolf looks just like him. But now, there was another one, and with a similar name. What’s more, there is also someone she feels strangely familiar too. “Just what the hell is going on?”
“Zegan and Adgan, were both brothers, bore of the same parents, and on the same day.”
“You mean twins?” Amelia asked.
“Something like that!” Artemis answered softly then continued, “Back then, young Selene had visited the sepulchre of Freya, the late goddess of the moon and mother to both Zegan and Adgan.”
“Thousands of years ago, there was a prophecy about the birth of the pure one, the one that will shine brightly upon the land of Mayalok and the whole universe. The one true goddess of the moon. However, with great power comes great sacrifice; therefore, she was to remain chaste for all eternity as the holy mother to her people.
“And Selene was that child!?” Amelia inquired.
“Indeed. You could say that. However, that wasn’t entirely the case.” Artemis was silent for a couple of seconds then went on, “When Selene was birthed, the whole land of Mayalok celebrated. As it was told, her light shone phosphorescently on our lands, and she was beyond anything words could describe.” With that said, Artemis uttered no more words.
After an infinite second passed without another word from the magnificent lady, Amelia tilted her head to glance at her with a questioning look. She was undoubtedly anxious to know more about the whole story; especially that, it concerns her mate, and possibly more than that.
Artemis cackled. “You could see for yourself, little one,” she said seeing the look on Amelia’s face. “Place your hands on the moon!” She ordered.
Without further ado, Amelia placed both her hands on the dazzling Moon, and her hands illustrated a bright light the second they landed on the magical thing. Her blue orbs rolled over to reveal her eye sclera as they dart about under her eyelid, whilst the Moon began to gyrate, and the whole icy snow-white cave surrounded with colourless crystals, lit up luminously and a smile curved upon the lips of Artemis who was watching this.
As though there was a movie playing on the television, Amelia watched how everything that took place between the trio, unfold before her eyes.
Adgan and Zegan were two souls leaving in one body, with Adgan being often the dominant one, whilst Zegan lived within him, but occasionally came forward when he wishes to visit the deceased body of their mother, whom they had drained of all essence during their birth. The two conjoined Souls lived like that for many years until the day Selene was born. Something happened that day that made the two souls suddenly split up and became two different people, and nobody knew why that happened.
As the true goddess that wields the power of the moon and the mother to all, Selene had to be pure and abstain from any sort of carnal pleasure. Thus, she didn’t grow up as every other child would, she was well protected to avoid history from repeating itself. However, the day Selene and Zegan met, was spellbinding. And for the first time, an indescribable feeling rose within Selene.
After that day, Selene never left her safe heaven again in other to avoid any encounter with her greatest temptation. She couldn’t deny the fact that, he was so handsome and if not for her duty to her people, she would have thrown herself at him without a second thought.
Selene concealed herself very well that Zegan could not find her no matter how much he tried. Being that his separation from Adgan didn’t just split their bodies, but also their powers; thus, he was no match for Selene, and neither was anyone else at that time.
Things were peaceful in the realm of Mayalok until the day Selene had visions of malus attacking them. And as the mother figure to everyone in the moon realm, which is Mayalok, she finally decided to come out of hiding. Also, she thought that after so many years had passed, whatever she felt for that person must have undoubtedly faded away.
However, the moment she met Adgan, and like what had happened with Zegan, the whole word dissolved into nothing at the intensity of which his golden orbs bore into hers. Like magic, the heat that rose inside her, which made her hide herself all these centuries after her encounter with Zegan, intensified.
After an infinite second of staring at each other passed, Selene could finally come back to her senses again. She has been told to refrain from anything that has to do with men, and she has been doing so until she met those two. Selene couldn’t understand what was going on, if only she could have visions regarding herself or whatever that has to do with her. But that was not possible. What’s more, Selene had seen the fates of everyone else in their Realm except that of Adgan and Zegan and she wondered why that was.
She took another glance at Adgan, who was more than one hundred feet away from her, and with the thought of how she has been severely warned of the unforeseeable repercussion that awaits her should any man touch her, Selene took to her heels.
Nonetheless, Adgan who saw her galloping away, dashed out after her. He wasn’t going to let her go just like that. She was the most beautiful woman he has ever met and letting her go would be foolish, he thought.
Selene did all she could to hide away from him, but Adgan wasn’t like Zegan, he was hot-blooded and impulsive; thus, he fished her out by all means. Not only that, but also went ahead to marry her against everyone’s protest, against her will.
Of course, Selene could have done everything to counter his selfish desire, yet she didn’t.
Although he was their Supreme leader, with the origin of both the Sun and the Moon which made him and his brother extremely powerful, even so, in terms of prowess, she was stronger than him and the only way he could defeat her was to merge with his other half. Yet, Selene did not do anything else other than hide from him. Truth is, she couldn’t deny her feelings anymore; hence, she allowed nature to take its course even though the thought of what the outcome may be dreads her.
On the other hand, Adgan didn’t give a damn about the so-called consequences. He found the woman who awoke an unimaginable emotion in him, therefore, he would never let her go. Nothing could stop her from becoming his in both body and soul, and he did just that by making her his wife.
Amelia, who watched as Selene and Adgan consummate their nuptials, could not help the inferno of both jealousy and arousal that burned within her. Their lovemaking was so intense that insecurity swelled inside her. His size, how he pleasured her, everything about him was exactly like that of Reagan. And to her, seeing this felt like she was watching him cheat on her with another female.
