Chapter 293: The Alpha King's Rejected Mate

Orian’s pov

We found her soon enough, she wasn't hard to find as she was exactly where I guess she would be. I stopped the guards and we all dismounted from our horses advancing towards her while I watched her intently as she sat staring into space with her puppy in her hold probably being frustrated at being able to see the other side but not being able to cross.

"Don't be a scared puppy." She murmured as she stroked her fur, "I will get us out of here, maybe if I had powers I could, I am sorry." She got up, her words breaking me knowing she still felt insecure for not having powers and seeing how she was hell-bent on leaving, was I that easy to leave?

Don't make this about you! Another voice said in my head and I saw as she dropped the puppy and stepped back before running towards the space and attempting to throw herself through but she was rewarded with being flung back to the ground and I rushed to her side picking her up immediately ignoring the sensual sparks that flowed immediately I held her close to me.

"Orian." She whispered looking up at me and her gaze softened as she brought up her hand to touch my face, "Orian."

"I am here, let's go home." I rubbed her face smoothing her hair, "I am sorry, I will explain everything, just this one last chance lunny svet."

"One last chance?" She breathed weakly as she held on to me with those same sensual sparks flowing and I fought to focus on her pain and not think dirty thoughts just like the moment we had this morning, but they kept flooding in my head, "Give me your hand."

I did as she bid and before I could blink she held my hand in her mouth sinking her canines in my palm I yelped in pain dropping her, "What?!"

"You son of a bitch!" She screamed at me grabbing her puppy and stepping away from me, "Get away from me! Away! You lied to me and worse still tried to kill my brother or maybe he's already dead!"

"Can you let me explain?" I wrung my hand as I tried to get closer to her but she stepped back screaming at me not to come closer.

I ignored her threats and went to hold her again and in an attempt to fight me off, she dropped the puppy Nexus grabbed the opportunity and took the puppy and at my signal through the mindlink they went off leaving Amara and me, "Where are you taking her? Bring her back you dolts! I am going nowhere with her." She screamed after them throwing her arms as they faded into the darkness.

"Calm down and listen." I pleaded releasing her from my hold and she turned to face me, eyes widened in anger with hands on her hips, "You look cute."

"Your face irritates me, I never want to see it from this moment!"

"Irritating yet you didn't pass up any chance to ride it." There was a tint of her cheeks as she stepped back from me hiding her embarrassment, "Let's go home and talk about this Amara."

"Go home and talk about this?!" She pointed out her hand, eyes widening in disbelief, "I can't believe you!"

"Amara."

"Don't come closer!" She breathed, chest rising and falling, and from the distance we both heard a terrifying thunderclap and she instinctively shifted towards me before backing off again, "I am tired of going in circles with you! Arguing back and forth. I am tired of questioning if I would be accepted by your people all the time, I don't like how Hector belittles me and I certainly hate how much I love you enough to trust you but you keep breaking it!"

Another thunderclap sounded and the skies rub bled but the last words of hers sounded louder to my hearing and I froze just as she did and watched how she slapped a hand over her mouth, I love you enough to trust you, "I didn't mean that." She said all too quickly turning away from me, "I didn't mean to say that."

"You did." I mumbled stepping closer to her and the only thing I could think of was to grab and kiss her, it should be what follows confessions but now we had a more serious issue at hand, "Don't take the words back." I tried moving closer to her, "Please."

She let out a starling yelp when she turned to me and fell to her knees clutching at her stomach with her features portraying pain.

I rushed to her side instantly, her scent of arousal hitting me as soon as I touched her and I had the instinctive urge to mate with her at the moment, the same urge that surfaced earlier today and she mumbled a weak no pulling away from me and still clutching to herself in pain.

"What's going on?" I asked feeling myself drawing closer to her with no attempt to stop myself, "Is there something you aren't telling me?"

"You are the one that is best at keeping things away." She didn't meet my gaze as she spoke and I knew she was lying.

"Let's go home."

"I want to leave."

"But you love me, you can't leave, you promised."

"What do you know about love?" She asked getting up to her feet while still hugging herself tightly, "I have cared for you even in your deceit, I put you first in everything. Oh, you do not know the miles I have gone for you Orian, the ways I have gone just to keep you, and each time I have my hopes up, you crush them just like you did today. What excuse do you have for not writing to my father?"

"I was scared."

"You were scared." She scoffed letting out a laugh, "And I wasn't scared when I was uprooted from a life I knew and was brought here? I wasn't scared being here knowing everyone hated me and I could be killed any moment. And why did you attempt to kill my brother? Or is he already dead and I do not know about it yet?"

"I didn't try to kill him and he isn't dead, it was-

"Save it." She cut me short straightening herself, "I don't know if you are about to lie to me again."

"Amara." I called again not being able to stop myself from reaching out to her and pulling her in my arms , "Don't do this please, let me fix this. Let's talk about this, you promised not to leave, to stay with me, just you and I remember?" I begged wanting her to see reason with me on this but still understanding that her reaction was normal, exactly as expected, "You can't leave me."

"Let go." She tried kicking me away but we both fell to the ground toppling over each other and we ended up in quite a risque position.

She was beneath me as I had her hands in my hold pining her to the ground, her legs were squeezed tight against mine and she was breathing harshly, chest rising and falling, with beads of sweat gathering atop her breasts glinting in the moonlight and the depraved part of me couldn't have self-control anymore, I could catch a whiff of her heightening arousal as I stared at her face, green eyes looking up at me and mouth slightly open.

"You want to go?" I asked and she nodded, "Fine, go." She got off me immediately and staggered off to where her bag was and my heart broke seeing how eager she was to get away from me, "Go."

"Really?" She turned to me grabbing onto the bag with eyes widening in excitement, "You will let me go, right?"

"Of course." I nodded getting up myself and fixing my pants and then I made the incantations unveiling a path for her to go through, "There's your way." I pointed in the direction.

"Wait, I can't go without my puppy, bring her to me then I will leave."

I have a funny wife, I let out startling laughter and she stared at me like I was a maniac, she looked at me questioning what I found funny, did she really think I would ever let her go?

"I will give you a head start."

"What?!" She stomped over to me with a cross look on her face, "Are you implying that you will chase me?!"

"Clever." I reached out and stroked a finger across her cheek, "Very clever." She slapped my hand away.

"That's not how it works." She ran a hand through her hair walking back to the path opened for her, "When you set someone free, you let them go for good."

"Everyone knows I don't play fair when it comes to these games."

"You are horrible!"

"Yet you love me." I flashed her a smile and urged her on, "Come on now, ten minutes head start let's see how well you will do."

"This isn't fair." She inched closer to the path her gaze fixated on me and I could see from the way her eyes darkened, she expected more from the game, "This is not how it's played."

"Run Amara." I inched closer to her and in turn, she walked back with each step i took, "Run as fast as you can." I closed the space between us grabbing her by the back of her head and pulling her close, "And pray I do not catch you." I looked into her eyes seeing her gaze darken faster noticing the way she swallowed nervously.

"And what happens if you catch me?"

"I will ruin you, moy malen'kiy lunnyy svet."

She took off immediately I released and went through the path.

I watched in amusement as she ran like she knew what she was doing confidently running in the wrong direction, hot on her heels with her hair flowing behind her, gosh! She was admirable, adorable and adorable again.

I laughed to myself taking out my pocket watch and setting the time knowing that this was going to be good as she just made it extra easy.
