Chapter 76: Chapter Seventy-Six: Break The Family
The man in question who I still didn’t have a single clue at who he was, could only stand in place looking behind me at Griffin, frozen in place with shock.
“Master Griffin?” The man asks having to ensure he was seeing with his eyes correctly; I believe Griffin appearing at the castle was the last thing people were expecting.
“The one and only, but would it be okay if you left so we can have a private conversation with the King and his Beta?” I ask with a smile, but it wasn’t really a question, I was already pushing the quite shellshocked man towards the door. “Oh, but before you leave, you never saw Griffin, he wasn’t here, okay?” I say with smile knowing he’d probably squeal like a pig to the first person that he saw, which is something we couldn’t have.
“You want me to lie to people?” He asks after snapping out of his shocked state, but I only shake my head with a smile, he was thinking about the problem wrong.
“I’m not asking you to lie but just not tell people the whole truth, that would be great.” I smile sweetly at the man, who didn’t offer me the same graces and looked as though he was about grow angry, until I feel Griffin walk closer behind me again.
“Either you stand there and agree to what Rose is telling you, or I’ll have to deal with you. With the manner of stories that you people enjoy telling about me, it will not be pretty.” He says in a growl like tone looking at the man, who could only gulp, nod his head and leave faster than I thought possible.
“What’s his problem?” I ask once I closed the door and turned to look at Max, whose eyes were only on Griffin and how close the two of us were standing next to each other. “I know you are probably thinking what the fuck, why is Griffin back here but I need to explain some things to all of you, even Griffin.” I say stepping forward knowing he has agreed for me to go see Griffin, but not bring him back with me.
Max looks at me for a second before looking back at his brother, a mixture of anger and a hint of jealousy in his eyes, I don’t think he’s quite forgotten what he had saw between me and Griffin that night.
“I didn’t think my brother, who brought much disgrace to our family would ever return.” He growls out looking back at Griffin again, whilst Griffin just shakes his head seeming to get angry himself.
“Oh, I see, because you’re some hot shot King now! Let’s not allow us to forget who was meant to be stood in your place!” Griffin shouts with such anger in his voice, whilst Max just sits at his desk with a sick smile on his face looking at his brother.
“Everyone knew that you’d never be King, you didn’t have it in you. Which is why I have always thought you did what you did that night in attempts to prove to everyone what kind of man you are.” Max replies in a much calmer tone than Griffin, but equally, angry and evil in a sense trying to get to Griffin anyway that he could.
“THAT’S NOT WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED!” Griffin shouts so loudly with such anger that I knew I had to step in, if I didn’t, this was inevitably, going to lead to some fight.
“That’s enough! I didn’t bring Griffin here for you two to see who can shout the loudest! I did this so I can explain to everyone what really happened that night, so if you guys shut your mouths for more than two seconds, I’ll explain!” I shout myself getting into the middle, so their views were obstructed by me, I look to Max first with a raised eyebrow, he just sits back in his seat with a face full of anger whilst Griffin stood there silently.
“She’s still got it.” Fred smirks from beside Max, where I have to let out a little chuckle but happy, he had given us come comedic relief before this life changing conversation was about to take place.
“Now onto why we’re here, back when George came to the palace and gave me all the information he could find on that night, he kept repeating over and over again how the Alpha had said in passing to some people that it was as though Griffin had been in some sort of trance which he had snapped out of. He not only looked shocked but also so hurt for what he had done that he fled; the Alpha told me the same thing when I went to speak with him.” I begin to explain just starting from the beginning, so much has happened since George and I had that talk, but I needed somewhere to start.
“That’s true, it felt as though I was in some kind of dream that when I finally, snapped out of it, I was in the middle of some random field with destruction surrounding me. I didn’t have a clue on how I had gotten there or why.” Griffin explains from beside me which was the first time he had discussed that night with me ever, but only backed up what I had found out further.
“When I first heard this, I thought it was beyond far fetched, how can someone be put in a trance which leads then to head to some pack and begin to attack it. But after realising I never had a clue this world existed before, I would at least need to start looking into it myself. That is when I checked out a bunch of books on half bloods from the library that you saw me reading that day.” I explain having to give a backstory, whilst pointing over to Max who nodded his head with a smile towards me confirming he remembered. “I was able to learn so much regarding half bloods that I even found out that Griffin does have a wolf, due to his father being a human and Griffin inheriting most of his genes from your father, his wolf is unable to shift. But due to all of this, Griffin and his wolf can easily be multiplied in so many ways without Griffin even knowing. When he is put in his trance, he is at the will of whoever put him in that trance, his wolf will do anything the person asks without Griffin even knowing it’s happening.” I explain whilst looking over at Griffin who didn’t know what to do with himself, he looked a mixture of shocked, angry but also hurt and worried.
“It’s clear the person who put him into that trance, also did their homework as like me and figured out Griffin was their perfect secret weapon.” I say crossing my arms over my chest, but there was still another bombshell, Max seeming to know this and sits up in his chair.
“Who was this person?” He asks which is what causes me to sigh looking up at him than back at Griffin, knowing this next sentence was about to break the family.
“Your mother.” Is all I say.
