Chapter 74: Find The Book
THIRD PERSON’S POV
‘I heard that you failed this time Cecilia!’ Man seated on a couch with one hand resting on the back of the couch and one hand was swirling the scotch in the glass, while his yellowish and lifeless eyes were fixed on three witches.
Cecilia, the leader of the witched gulped quietly. Though she was considered as the most powerful witch in their coven she feared this man, the only wolf who was able to make her shudder with one stare only.
‘We didn’t fail completely, we killed Victor and were just to kill’ she was clarifying him and letting him know that they didn’t fail fully, instead were able to achieve half of the agenda, but the man with hardened expression raised his hand to stop, his icy cold eyes caused shiver run down in the spine of three small ugly women.
‘You didn’t kill Caleb Donovan, isn’t it?’ Cecilia’s head lowered and it was an answer of his question, he chuckled at her head and laughed, it was cold and empty, no emotions, sounded like a fake one. All three witched exchanged their gazes in fear, because they knew what would come next moment.
The loud shattering of glass echoed in that small room, small pieces scattered on floor after hitting Cecilia’s forehead, she was bleeding, but she didn’t move and stayed on her grounds rooted.
‘You didn’t kill Caleb and you had the audacity to tell me that you didn’t fail this mission completely. I wanted Caleb’s death, he has to die, I was waiting to hear his death’s news but instead I am hearing different story, thanks to all three of you’ he kicked the center table harshly, Cecilia cleared her throat and mustered up the courage to speak.
‘Master, please listen to us calmly. It isn’t like we failed; we were almost done with him; he was just taking his last few breaths when that bitch entered and ruined everything. I did not hesitate to kill her even, she was his mate and for once we would have get rid of last leadership obstacle in our path but I don’t know how come, but none of my magic worked on her, she was absorbing it in her body and no harm reached to her’ the man hummed, rubbing his finger on the chin and lower lip.
‘Yes Master, she is right. We were too very surprised to see that; she isn’t the witch but how come a wolf has such an ability to resist us. She was shielding him with her body, and we couldn’t reach to him that’s why we left frustrated’ Hannah supported her sister and emphasized on how the girl blasted off their whole plan.
‘Master, though we couldn’t meet up to your expectation this time but it’s not like we can’t do this. We can attack him again when she is not around. Trust us, we will not disappoint you again’ Aurora also stepped ahead and pleaded with her sisters, they can’t afford upsetting this man, he was their last and only hope for paving their way in this region of wolves, the land enriched with so many elements that will strengthen their power.
‘Fine, I am giving you another chance, but before killing Caleb, get rid of her mate, she needs to die first otherwise, she will keep causing troubles for us’ three witched looked at each other in horror, he was asking for something impossible for them, was he testing them?
‘But Master, we told you that she can absorb our magic, it is beyond our capability to kill her with magic, do you want us to poison her or kill by physical weapon?’ Cecilia took up the charge and asked like the deal was in process.
‘She is white wolf; it won’t be easy for you guys to kill her. Not even by poison or any weapon, you have to find the way to kill her, and I am sure you will find it’ the man only needed the result, he doesn’t bother how they do this, he was greedy of success and couldn’t tolerate the defeat, witches knew this and got concerned. They don’t have any space for another defeat.
‘Master!’ Cecilia’s voice weakened, the man in black suit smirked.
‘What? Can’t defeat one mere small wolf?’ Hannah suddenly holds the hand of her sister, stopping her from saying another word to him.
‘If she is white wolf, than we will find her weakness.’ Every eyes fell on her and she hesitated before speaking up.
‘I reached Caleb’s office first that day, Victor, Caleb and his mate were talking about a book on white wolf that is in council’s library. This book might be very important for her and must will have her weak points along with the strength.’ The smile spread on every face in the room, witches eyes lit up in joy, and they hugged their younger sister tightly.
‘If that is the case, than go and grab that book before she lands her hand on it.’ He stood up and buttoned up his blazer, ready to leave.
‘Yes Master’ Cecilia chimed in, she was confident that grabbing the book would be their win beforehand and it won’t be difficult for them to do, she is immune to their magic, but they can always manipulate her with their tricks. Man hummed in satisfaction and walked towards the door to leave when he halted and turned abruptly, witches eyes widened, they always have been cautious around him.
‘Anything left Master?’ Cecilia asked.
‘Get rid of her then you have to make a round at every pack. Lately I have observed a rebelliousness in the Alpha’s of those pack, seems like your potion is losing its effect.’ He sounded annoyed and angry; witches immediately bowed their heads to not irk him anymore.
‘Rest assure, we are going to the council’s library, once handling this we will work on them.’ He grunts in response.
‘Cecilia, I need results this time, otherwise it won’t be good for all of you’ his harsh and cold words annoyed three of them but there lips remained sealed in front of him.
Understood!’ it was the only response they gave, and it was the only answer he wanted to hear. They quietly watched his silhouette disappearing in the darkness and when they confirmed he had left, they turned facing each other.
‘He is getting intolerable day by day.’ Aurora sneered, her sister’s views weren’t different from her either.
‘We have to be patient until we achieve our agenda, let’s get moving. We have to tackle that white wolf as well.’ Cecilia jerks her head off and motioned for her sister to prepare for the visit to council’s library.
‘His all achievements are because of us, how could he sharpen his tone against us’ Aurora was fuming, she couldn’t let go of the attitude their master had showed to them today. Hannah sighed and rested her hand on her shoulder.
‘Don’t waste your energy, we will have our time’
