Chapter 69
Chapter 69
Rayna
Just as I walked out, my phone began ringing. I checked, and it was Mira. “Yes, Mira, is everything okay? Is Zaya okay?”
“Zaya is fine, shit Rayna, Terrendale is on goddamn fire,” she said. “What do you mean?” I asked, now curious.
“Shit, Madeline Ross is out for fucking blood; she’s gone after Susan, Damon tried to intervene, and she hit him. The whole drama happened out in public. Ian was there…. “Okay, okay, let me start over,” she said, taking a breath. She sounded like she was excited by the drama. I just rolled my eyes. I got into the car and put the phone on speaker and waited for her.
“Okay, so. Ian went looking for Susan, and apparently, he’s pissed. He hit her, from what we heard and saw online. Well apparently, Susan got into her car to escape, and Ian crashed his car into hers on the road in traffic. Which caused people to stop and start videoing. Are you with me so far?” she asked
“Yes, Mira, I am.”
“Good. Well, they’re in public yelling at each other and fighting; Susan hit Ian. Then a car pulls up, almost hitting Susan. Madeline Ross Jumps out with Amelia, and they began attacking Susan. Damon was behind them; he pulled up and tried to stop his wife and his daughter, and they beat him too. Ian, Madeline and Amelia were arrested, and Susan and Damon were sent to the hospital. Also, your father threw your mother out. There's a video online.” She said,
“Well, that’s on them. I simply told them the truth; what they do with the truth is up to them.”
“Damn, I’m guessing you went and had a little chat with Camry?” she asked hesitantly.
“Yep, just did; she’s screaming. I’m done with her now for my dear mother.”
“Okay, Zaya is okay. Dr. Petra came over and checked her, and everything is good.” She said,
“Okay, thank you. I’ll be home soon.”
After my call with Mira, I started the car and headed back to Terrendale. Halfway through my drive, my phone began ringing. I thought it was Mira, but when I checked the caller ID, it was Armin, and I knew instantly that he had found something. I pulled over and parked the car and answered.
“What did you find, Armin?” I said as soon as I answered.
“Mrs. Wolfe. I found it. You were right, The Teacher, Allison Grant, started here as a substitute teacher the day after Ms. Zaya began here. The other teacher is sick. Food poisoning. “Grant had been in contact with the boss’s mother,” Armin said.
“What else?” I asked, knowing he would look.
“It’s her. After I saw they had contact with each other, I sent Rob to do a deep search of former Mrs. Wolfe’s phone history. She purchased the poison and gave it to the nurse. Rob should be returning with the poison. “I asked him to get some,” he said hesitantly, and I couldn’t help but smile. Armin already knew I would do the same thing to them that they did to my daughter.
“Okay, I’m one hour away from home. When I get home, we’ll deal with them. Have someone keep an eye on the teacher. I know where Susan is.
“Already have someone watching her. Umm, Mrs. Wolfe. What should I say to the boss?” he asked.
“Nothing, I’ll deal with him.”
“Okay,” he said.
I ended the call and sped down the road. Susan really thought hurting my child would be a good idea. They would find out exactly what happened when you piss me off.

When I got home at four, everyone was home. Zaya was in the living room with everyone except my wife. I didn’t see Rob or Armin when I came in, and that meant they were with her, and that could only mean they were up to no good. I came to realize when Armin and Rob were with her that meant someone was about to get hurt or be in pain.
“Daddy,” I heard her call for me. I put my laptop on the table and went over to her. I kissed her forehead.
“Hello, princess, how are you feeling now?”
“Better; the nice doctor came and said I am much better than yesterday,” she said. I looked at Mira.
Dr. Petra came over before he went to the hospital to check her up. He said it looks better than yesterday; just keep giving her the medicine and keep rubbing the ointment.” She said, and I nodded.
“Umm, where’s my wife?” I asked hesitantly.
At the same time she walked through the door. “Hey, baby,” she said, walking towards us and kissing Zaya.
“Umm, I need a contractor?” she said
“For?” Mira asked.
“Well, I need to get that office space up and running,” she said, taking a seat.
“I know a good company. I’ll give you the card. His name is Henry. They do good work,” my uncle said, pulling out his wallet and handing her a business card.
“Thank you. Now I suggest one of you—it doesn’t matter which one, anyone—find Susan before I do because if I do. I’ll do the same thing to her that she did to Zaya,” she said, and I looked at her.
“What?”
“Apparently your mother thought it would be a good idea to pay the substitute teacher to put the poison in Zaya’s shoes. She paid her one hundred grand. She poisoned the teacher and replaced her. She put the poison in her shoes after she took them off during playtime. She knew there were cameras. “Apparently she used a device to shut the cameras off so she could do it,” she said, and with every word I could tell she was getting angrier.
“Well, it shouldn’t be too hard to find her since she is in the hospital,” Mira said, standing up.
“I’ll be back, princess.” She said, kissing Zaya’s forehead and walking out with Mira behind her.
“Be careful, both of you,” I yelled after them.
“We will,” Mira yelled back.I found the old man looking at me. “What?”
“Nothing, just watching you and your wife handling life,” he said with a smirk. I just rolled my eyes. After I grabbed a shower, my aunt gave Zaya a shower, and she drank her medicine and had the lotion rubbed on her. Mira and Rayna came back shortly before dinner; they walked in with Armin and Rob behind them. Mira was laughing out loud, and Ron and Armin were smirking.
“We’ll be down in a minute,” Rayna said, and she and Mira headed up the stairs. They came back fifteen minutes later. We were having dinner, and Mira kept looking at Rayna.
“Care to share whatever it is that has you smiling like that?” The old man said, looking at Mira.
“Nothing much, just that your granddaughter-in-law is crazy, and if anyone ever tries to mess with this family, they will regret it,” Mira said.
