Chapter 70: The Devil's Bargain

AUTHOR POV

A man sat across a large table, his build towering and showing his magnificent presence.

"Boss, I think we need to take action. He killed her and didn't think twice about it just because..."

"Of her, that bitch."

A young woman's voice said, her voice cold as ice like she could kill anyone at that moment.

"Damon doesn't care about anyone and I want him dead, but not before having his device. And he decided to kill the only spy I had. I was just lucky to be able to have access to that mansion because of Alice but now, now she's gone. He's going to destroy every loophole I've got to get to him and I really don't have anything to use against him."

Ronald said, his voice icy, cold like he hadn't slept for weeks.

"Dad, I don't want him dead. I want him. I can't allow him to take her, he's... he's too good for her, and I want him. I don't mind doing anything to ruin their relationship."

Janet said, her voice calculative like she needed to take quick action immediately.

"Angel, I need that device and Damon... you can do with him whatever you wish after I use the device to erase his life. And now, we are going to take action."

He said, a sinister smile dropping on his face.

"And what plans do you have, dear father?"

Janet said, crossing her legs as she puffed out a cigarette. All her life, she had trained to inherit her father's position and being initiated into this dark world, it felt thrilling.

"Connor, send the girl in."

Ronald said and a girl was dragged in.

Janet's eyes widened with surprise. She wasn't expecting to see her replacement in here.

"Wow, wonderful. Whatever you have been thinking of dad, I'd say it's wonderful."

She said, now smiling so widely.

"Angel, she will help us get her. She will help us get our little gold and Damon would exchange the device for her. After all, he said he'd burn the world for her."

Ronald said as he stood up, walking towards the girl who was covered with a sack over her head. He nodded at the guard who held her still as she was shackled in cuffs.

"Open her face. She needs to see who her new boss is."

Ronald smiled as he sat on his desk, legs crossed as he puffed out his cigarette.

The sack was lifted and the lady blinked slowly while she was trying to decipher where she was.

Her eyes now fully open to her environment, she looked around the room, not recognizing where she was.

"Where am I?"

She said, not noticing the man a few feet from her.

"Wrong question."

She heard a voice say, which sent chills down her spine.

Her eyes following the voice, she blinked slowly, then her gaze fell on a man. The room was painted dark, but with exquisite interior and wild paintings across the room, but the man... the man sitting across the table with a cigarette in his hand as he puffed out smoke looked astonishingly darker, more scarier, with a scar which ran across his face down to his jawline. His fierce dark eyes screamed danger and she felt her legs quiver at his sight.

She hadn't seen anyone like him before.

"Who are you? What do you want? Let me go."

She said, now shifting back, as her eyes were solely concentrated on him.

"Hello Christiana."

Janet said, standing up and walking out from a corner, her gaze intense on her like Christiana was prey and she was the predator.

Christiana's eyes widened, recognition dawning on her as she never expected to see Janet in here. Knowing Janet was part of this—someone who once acted like an angel in school and suddenly disappeared had come back to kidnap her—made her shiver even more.

"I'm sorry darling, it's just that my father loves attention and well, I love that too but you see..."

Suddenly she stopped talking, turning to look at her dad.

"Daddy, I can't be the one talking..."

She said, whining as she puffed out her cigarette again.

"Alright, let's go straight to the point."

He said, now standing and walking towards her. The girl shifted back but the guard stopped her from moving, her face trembling with fear.

"What do you need? Let me go now."

She said, but her voice didn't sound commanding now. It was icy like his words seemed.

"Oh yes, I will let you go but you have to do something for me."

Ronald said, now standing in front of her, his height towering before her. She seemed like an ant standing before a giant, like he could crush her with his hands and no one would hear of it. Those thoughts alone sent her skin crawling.

"What do you want..."

She stammered, knowing she had made a mistake the previous time.

He grabbed her chin up with his thumb, his thumb pressing so hard on her chin, staring deeply into her eyes like he was swallowing her whole, but she didn't try breaking down into tears or whimpering. She was stronger than that.

"You will get your friend for me, and send her to my direction."

He said, his voice not shaky.

"What are you talking about?"

Christiana said, but it sounded more like a whisper.

"How many friends do you have, darling?"

Ronald asked, analyzing her and all he wanted to do was shoot her for fun and watch her being cleaned up.

Christiana remained quiet, her heart almost beating out from her ribcage.

"Answer me, little one."

He said calmly, but they didn't sound calm at all. They were bloody cold.

"I don't... have... any... friends."

Christiana stammered. Now she was whimpering, every wall she had was beginning to break.

"Wrong answer."

He said. This time, he slapped her real hard, sending her flying to the ground and Janet burst into laughter, her voice breaking through the treacherous room.

Ronald walked towards her, but she slid back, her face in pain and her body trembling with the impact of the slap and where she had landed, but most of all, him. He looked like the devil himself.

"Now, answer me darling. How many friends do you have?"

He asked again, nodding at the guard who pushed Christiana up roughly, her face now red and swollen and her lips bringing out blood, cut by his ring.

"One friend. I've got one friend."

She whispered, closing her eyes in pain and betrayal. She didn't know what this meant but she knew this wasn't good.

"Good! Now you will bring her to me. I will send you an address and you will bring her to me and you will be free to go."

He said, and her eyes widened.

"I can't do that. I can't do that to Annabel."

"Don't fucking say her name or whisper her name here unless you want me to knock out every breath in you."

Janet snarled, her voice filled with bloody hate, anger and her face was flared up.

Christiana was shocked. First, she didn't know why they needed Annabel and she couldn't betray her, and second, what did Annabel do to Janet that she hated her? Fuck, she hardly even saw them together, not even once, so where did all this hate come from?

"Well, if you don't, I will have no other option than to kill your parents."

Ronald said blatantly like he meant nothing and Christiana's eyes widened with shock and her hands trembled.

"You wouldn't do that."

Christiana said, her voice shaky, not believing her ears.

"Connor, shoot her dad."

Ronald said coldly, unbothered and Christiana's eyes widened with fear.

"Please no, no please, don't kill my parents. I will do whatever you want, please..."

She said, trembling as she fell on her knees, pleading.

"Withhold."

Ronald said, amusement in his voice.

"Good, now you are going to do exactly as I said."

Christiana shook her head, now scared to the core, as her body shook with something more than fear.

"But... but how can I bring her here? She can't just follow me here."

Christiana said, her voice still trembling.

"Well, don't worry about that. We will handle it. Your job is to call her when we tell you to and make her come see you because she will be in a fragile situation and she would come running. You pick her up, keep her talking and drive her to an address which I will send to you and we will pick up from there."

He said, like he had already prepared everything.

Christiana nodded, her heart pounding at what she was about to do, betrayal growing each moment within her.

"And if you dare try to do something crazy, something stupid, trust me, I will have your parents killed. We are monitoring you, your devices and everything, so beware."

Ronald said calmly and he walked out. He was tired of playing games with Damon and fuck, he couldn't wait to kill that motherfucker, and he hoped his daughter would move on fast after his death. This was going to be the end of Damon's reign, and the beginning of his ultimate revenge.
