Chapter 575: New Enemies

Isabella had learned Michael's true identity, but the revelation wasn't as dramatic as one might expect. She quickly accepted the truth after an initial period of sadness.

Despite any lingering resentment for Michael's secrecy, Isabella never doubted his love. After everything they had been through, with Michael risking his life to save her multiple times, their bond was undeniable.

Isabella came to terms with the fact that Michael was John's uncle. She wasn't concerned about public opinion. If John tried to expose them, she was prepared to reveal his past crimes of kidnapping and attempted organ harvesting, with Michael as the hero who saved her.

Benjamin and Amelia arrived anxiously, only to find Isabella and Michael in a tender moment.

"I thought you two would be at each other's throats. I was ready to throw down with your man," Amelia joked, sitting on the couch.

Snuggled in Michael's arms, Isabella smiled up at him. "No need for a showdown. Our love can handle anything."

Michael agreed, "You're right. Maybe I should've come clean sooner, just didn't know how."

Amelia teased, "Looks like I worried for nothing. So, what's the deal with Estella? People are starting to think she's your wife now."

Michael's calm reply hung in the air. "I'll take care of that."

Isabella felt a twinge of discomfort, now feeling like a mistress despite being Michael's original partner.

After a pause, she said, "Honey, please be gentle with Estella. She's a good person."

Michael gazed at Isabella lovingly. "Your kindness is what I love. I have a plan for her. I'll handle things in a way that protects both of you."

"It seems you've got it all under control. You two sort it out. We'll head out," Benjamin said, rising from the couch with Amelia.

Isabella almost stopped them, remembering Amelia's unresolved issue. But Michael squeezed her hand and subtly shook his head.

The unspoken communication between them made Isabella realize Michael had something private to discuss, something not meant for Benjamin and Amelia's ears.

"Take care on the road, drive safe," Isabella and Michael bid farewell to their friends as they departed from the villa.

Once Benjamin and Amelia had left, Isabella turned to Michael. "What did you want to talk about?"

Michael's face was grave as he met Isabella's gaze. "Honey, the Williams Family could be in trouble. We need to be ready for any potential threats."

Isabella was taken aback by Michael's words. "What? The Williams Family? Is it John? Are you saying he's found out about you taking his fiancée and is out for revenge?"

Michael shook his head. "I know John. Even if he did find out, he'd just be mad and brood. I'm more worried about his father, Owen."

Frowning, Isabella recognized Owen as John's dad and a figure of authority. But Owen was usually low-profile, often traveling for business, so Isabella didn't know much about him.

"Is Owen trying to get back at us for what happened with John?" That was Isabella's immediate concern.

But Michael clarified, "Remember those guys who kidnapped you? They were part of a group linked to the Immortal Mercenaries. I had someone take care of them, but their leader was rescued by someone with military connections. I suspect it's tied to the President's camp, but it doesn't add up. I want to look into that military base, so I called Mason, but Owen picked up."

Isabella's eyes widened in disbelief. A whirlwind of thoughts raced through her mind.

"Why would Owen have Mason's phone? Is something wrong with Mason? And even if there is, shouldn't Charles have answered instead of Owen?"

Isabella fired off questions, but Michael shook his head. "I'm as puzzled as you are. It was Owen, not Charles, who answered. He said Mason was in bad shape, so he returned to check on him. But I saw Mason not long ago, and he was fine. Plus, I had no clue Owen was back in the country. And right after his return, news broke about that military plane evacuating Evan."

Isabella motioned for Michael to pause. Her mind was a jumble, needing to untangle her thoughts.

"Your brother runs the Immortal Mercenaries, right? If Owen ordered someone to save Evan, does that mean Owen and your brother are teaming up against you? While there's no direct proof linking Owen to the plane, everything seems too coincidental. Does this mean Owen is in cahoots with Henry? If that's the case, Owen is now against us because we can't support Henry."

Michael nodded in agreement with Isabella's deductions, his expression grim.

"This could be more serious than we thought. Owen might have Mason captive."
