Chapter 485
Revived Sparks.
Aaron's POV.
I glanced at the address written on the paper and then at the door as I continued pressing the doorbell.
Richard had unexpectedly told me about Theodore before he left for the Moranno mansion.
I swallowed hard as I continued pressing the button, my blood boiling with impatience.
I needed answers to questions I thought didn't matter anymore. Questions I thought I had buried.
He wasn't really married, and the child wasn't his.
All the things Raina had said weren't true.
I needed to know why. Why he left, why he came back, and why he hadn't moved on.
Did any of these have anything to do with me?
The door suddenly jerked open, and I froze, my eyes settling on the man I hadn't seen in years.
His eyes widened as he stepped back, the shock draining the color from his face.
But he quickly pulled himself together.
"What... What are you doing here?" He demanded, his voice clipped.
"Did Richard give you my address?" He demanded, his brows drawing together. "It's fucking late, go home."
He attempted to close the door, but I put a foot in the path, blocking it.
"Those weren't the words I had expected you to say to me after six years of being away, Theodore." I murmured, my voice barely steady.
"You shouldn't be here. Please leave." He insisted, his jaw tightening.
I stepped forward, my shoulders squared.
"Why? Don't I deserve an explanation?" I challenged, holding his gaze. "Or is it that you don't want your wife and child to wake up to you arguing with your ex-lover?"
He looked away, muttering under his breath, but returned his eyes to me soon after.
"If Richard gave you my address, then he must have told you she isn't my wife and the child isn't mine." He explained, his words measured.
I swallowed hard as my eyes moved to the veins on his arms, a cold shiver running down my spine as I felt the longing rekindle.
"Why? Why haven't you moved on, and why are you here?" I asked, my fingers curling at my sides.
"It has nothing to do with you, so please leave." He insisted, his gaze hardening.
I stepped even closer.
"It has everything to do with me." I insisted, refusing to back down. "You left me with a stupid note and showed up after six years, and you aren't ready to give an explanation."
"Fuck you, Theodore..." I muttered, my jaw tightening.
"But I'm not going to leave until you give me a fucking explanation."
His jaw clenched as he hissed, his hand closing around my wrist.
He dragged me out and closed the door behind him. I tried to resist, but before I could make out what was happening, my back hit the wall as I heard flower pots shatter when they hit the ground.
"What are you doing?" I demanded, my brows drawing together.
What came next was his lips on mine, cold but spreading warmth throughout my body.
I pushed my hand against his chest, trying to push him away, but his weight against mine kept me in place.
Soon, I kissed back, my mouth opening to his tongue as my hands went into his hair.
He held onto my neck, his kiss desperate, his fingers caressing me gently.
His hands moved to my waist and then lower, his thigh pressing against mine, already feeling my hard member.
Wait... What the hell was I doing?
Theodore left me, and now he was kissing me like his life depended on it.
The painfully humiliating thought somehow fueled my arms, making them strong enough to push him away.
"No... No, I will not be your fucking toy." I snapped, my jaw tightening.
"You're not going to kiss me like nothing happened, Theodore. That's not going to happen." I insisted, wiping his kiss from my lips with one hand and pointing at him with the other.
"What are you on about?
I missed you," he admitted, his gaze lingering on me.
I scoffed and licked my lower lip.
"I shouldn't have come here. I shouldn't have." I muttered, lowering my gaze for a moment.
"Whatever we had between us ended the day you left without considering me or my feelings." I retorted, my fingers curling into my palms.
"I'm not going to prioritize being with you over everything else." I murmured, more to myself than to him as I struggled to steady my breath.
"Coming here was a fucking mistake." I muttered, pushing him further away as I shook my head.
"I can't believe how quickly I folded for you the moment you kissed me," I added, my brows drawing together. "How embarrassing.”
"I melted into your arms the moment you touched me. Suddenly all you have done didn't matter." I scoffed, the corner of my mouth lifting briefly.
"I don't know what fucked up things brought you back here.
But you should know I'm better than this. I'm over you playing with my head at least for Raina and my daughter's sake." I insisted, my jaw tightening as I held his gaze.
Clenching my fist, I walked past, brushing him harshly with my shoulder.
I stopped just a few steps away.
"Maybe you don't know but Don was diagnosed with cancer." I murmured, my shoulders dropping as I stared ahead.
"I had to tell him you're back and he's anxiously waiting to see you." I added, forcing a shrug.
"And Raina shouldn't know I came here today. I don't want her to know how weak I really am." I muttered, my fingers curling into my palm, my back still turned to him.
Not giving him a chance to speak, I hurried to my car and quickly drove away.
