Chapter 225: Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Five

Jayce

Rose goes to climb out of bed, but I stop her. “Where are you going?”

We have spent the last couple of hours naked and making up for the last couple of weeks in bed. I have missed the intimacy between, but not only that, of course.

“I need to use the restroom. I will be right back.” She laughs, kissing me softly.

I have barely let her go since she showed up at my office. I am being very needy. I don’t mean to be, but I can’t help myself because I am so happy to have her home. I don’t want to be apart for so long ever again.

I let her go. Things haven’t been the same without her. This house has felt empty without her, so much so, I stayed at a hotel a couple of nights and with Tanner and Remi a couple of nights too, because I couldn’t settle in my own home. I never thought I would be this way, but then again, I never thought a lot of things before Rose showed up in my life. It is strange. A couple of weeks isn’t too long, but it felt like forever and with Rose away, a part of me was missing.

Rose returns a few minutes later and climbs back into bed with me. I wrap my arms around her again and pull her close to me, cuddling her back in. She giggles at my eagerness, but happily allows me to.

“Are we going to stay in bed all night?” she asks, nuzzling her face in my neck.

“No, we can shower and go out for dinner if you like?” I suggest.

I would love to stay in bed with the rest of the night, but we need to eat.

“Yes, that sounds nice. Date night.” She grins.

“Yes, date night. I have taken the next few days off, so I am all yours.”

I won’t be going to the office or the club. Someone else can take care of the club for the next couple of nights because I have been there most nights.

“Yay! We can do some wedding planning tomorrow. Are you coming to my signing in a couple of days?”

“It sounds perfect. When do you want to fly back out to check on things? Yes, of course I will be there.”

“Maybe a month or so before our wedding, just in case we want to make any changes.”

I nod. “I will get the flights and hotel booked.”

We have most of our wedding planned. There isn’t much left to do. We still have time if we change our minds about anything.

“I can’t believe in less than five months we will be getting married. I am so excited,” she beams, clapping her hands.

“Me too, pretty eyes. I can’t wait to make you my wife.”

Rose reaches in and kisses me softly. The soft kiss we share soon grows heated. Moaning, Rose pushes me onto my back and climbs on top of me.

“Mmm, maybe we can fit one more round in before we make a move. I am in charge this time, though.”

“I hand the control over to you, baby girl.”

I don’t mind her being the one in control sometimes. I like it. I have been the one in control for the last few hours. It is only fair that I give her a chance now. Rose doesn’t waste any time. Her lips run all over me, and her hand slips between us, stroking me to get me ready for her, something that doesn’t take long. It never takes long. The woman has some superpower when it comes to getting me aroused.

“Always ready so easily for me.”

“Yes, I am.” I groan.

I am ready for one more round or more if she changes her mind. I will happily order in for us if Rose wants to stay in bed.

Rose and I finally arrive at the restaurant. A little later than planned. We planned to eat at eight, but it’s now after nine. We nearly didn’t come, but we decided if we wanted to be together and not just make love, then we should leave the bedroom and the house, or the only communication would have been with our bodies.

We are quickly shown to our table. Taking our seats, I pull her chair closer to mine.

“Can I help you?” she laughs.

“Yes, I am making sure you don’t run away and leave me again.” I chuckle.

Rose playfully rolls her eyes at me. “I did not run away.”

“You know what I meant,” I reply, kissing her softly.

“I promise never to leave you again.”

I bop her nose. “You better not.”

“Did you miss me that much, my love?”

I nod. “Of course I did. I was like a lost puppy without you.”

Rose smiles and caresses my cheek. “An adorable little lost puppy.”

“What can I say, pretty eyes, you make me a weak-ass man, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“I missed you too, so much, handsome.” She coos, kissing my cheek.

We part, but I place my hand on her thigh as we glance over the menus. There is no point really because when we come here, we always order the same things.

“Do you want some wine?” I ask.

Rose nods. “Yes, a small one.”

I ordered our drinks and food, too. Once we decide on the same thing, we always do.

“Have you found out any more details about the next leg of your book tour?”

Rose shakes her head. “No, but Jane said we will arrange it soon. What I did find out today is that my book has officially sold over three million copies, and the stats are still coming in. It is crazy.”

“Wow, that is amazing. I am so proud of you. How is your other book coming along?”

“Thank you. It is coming. I managed to get work done on it while I was away.”

“I am sure it will be great, angel.”

She deserves all the success in the world. No one deserves it more.

“I hope so since it is a little different.”

“It will be fine, baby girl. I know it.” I say confidently because I believe it.

Rose smiles and nods. The conversation ends there because our drinks arrive at the table. It is good to have her home, and I plan to spend as much time with her as I can over the next few days. We are all going to her signing, not just me. Remi, Tanner, Joshua, Penelope, Tate, and Maria. Rose has no idea we will all be there. We aren’t the only ones. Her parents fly in tomorrow, and they will be there as a surprise, too. She has only seen them once since we went to tell them about our engagement. She misses them. They miss her. It will be a great reunion.

Rose takes a sip of her drink and smiles. “I have missed this place and our date nights.”

“Me too. I haven’t been here since the last time we were here.”

It is our date place. I would come myself or with my brothers.

“I love you, Jayce.”

“I love you too, angel.”

Things can return to normal again.
