Chapter 84 Grabbing Covington Back
Vinten Hotel, A City.
Room 1809.
Poppy, with a phone in hand, stood in front of the hotel room door with a cold face filled with anger. She reached out and forcefully knocked on the door. Soon, footsteps could be heard from inside the room. The person first looked through the peephole at the door before finally opening it.
As soon as Poppy saw the door crack open, she pushed her way in.
Then she slapped Fannie hard across the face.
"You BITCH!"
Poppy's face twisted with anger as she saw Fannie in a silk camisole dress, with various traces of lovemaking on her body, which made her even more furious!
"BITCH! You broke your promise! Why did you have to fool around with Ramsey?" Poppy questioned her, "Where is Ramsey?"
Fannie, holding her cheek, coldly replied, "He's passed out drunk."
Poppy didn't believe her, so she pushed her aside and walked in. At a glance, she saw Ramsey lying on the big bed. He was naked, drunk, with his eyes closed in a drunken slumber. There was an empty red wine bottle next to him, and the wine had spilled on the sheets.
Poppy knew at once that he had spent a wonderful night with Fannie, that bitch.
"Ramsey! Wake up!"
Poppy walked to the bed and rudely shook him.
"Wake up!" she angrily fetched a basin of cold water from the bathroom and splashed it on him.
Ramsey grumbled a few times and woke up.
"What are you doing!" His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Poppy fiercely.
"I'm asking you, is it true that your father was arrested? Did you really poison your grandfather and get kicked out of the house?" Poppy never imagined she would end up with such a vile waste like him!
He was utterly useless!
"Poppy, you look down on me? Who do you think you are to look down on me!"
Ramsey staggered to his feet, grabbed her collar, and cursed, "It's all your fault, you slut! If it weren't for you making Holland marry Covington, how could his legs have healed!"
"Poppy, it's all your fault!" Ramsey cursed viciously.
Poppy, full of resentment, said, "It's because you can't compare to Covington. I must have been blind to choose you!"
If only she hadn't asked Holland to marry Covington for her. Ramsey detested hearing this, and he slapped Poppy hard across the face.
"You slut, how dare you say that to me!"
"I'm stating the facts!"
Ramsey slapped her again.
Poppy wasn't afraid of him either, and the two began to struggle.
In the end, because Ramsey was drunk, Poppy managed to pin him down. But Poppy was also in a sorry state, with disheveled hair, standing up and glaring angrily at Fannie.
"I thought I knew you." Poppy felt a deep sense of betrayal.
Fannie sneered ."You're really pitiful. You had the chance to marry Covington, but you missed it. If I were you, I'd snatch him back."
She continued, "It wasn't me who caused your tragedy. It was Holland. If it weren't for her, even if you were reluctant, you would have married Covington in the first place."
At this point, Poppy was consumed by anger and regret, finding Fannie's words very convincing.
"Poppy, your target for revenge should be Holland!" Fannie continued to incite her.
"Fannie, trash like Ramsey and trash cans like you are a perfect match."
Poppy walked out of the hotel room, feeling increasingly wronged. She drove back home from the underground garage, tears streaming down her face, her eyes swollen like peaches.
When she saw Juniper sitting in the living room, she couldn't hold back anymore and completely broke down!
"Dad! I want to call off the engagement with Ramsey!" she cried, deeply saddened.
Juniper's face turned serious as he said, "I've heard about the Drakes' Family situation. Roman going to jail has caused us some losses, too. Even if you didn't bring up calling off the engagement, I would have told you about this."
"I found out that the ownership of Drakes' Family shares has changed. Morgan transferred 30% of the shares to Covington. He controls 50% of the shares now!"
"What?" Poppy could hardly believe it.
What kind of treasure had she missed out on?
"Ramsey is no longer of any value. After you break off the engagement with him, we'll select a new marriage partner for you." Juniper's looking to hitch Poppy up with some young guy from a family that's not exactly top-tier. They'd make a pretty good pair.
But Poppy's ambition was great. She wanted Covington!
Juniper took out an invitation and placed it on the table.
"This is Mr. Ross's birthday invitation. There will be many young people attending, so you might find an opportunity there."
Poppy urgently asked, "Will Covington be there?"
"Of course, he will," Juniper said skeptically, looking at her, "I advise you to give up on Covington. Even I can't see through him."
Poppy lowered her head, saying nothing. She just wanted to get her man back.
"Go tidy up in your room. Look at yourself. There's a banquet in a couple of days, don't embarrass me." Juniper examined the bruises on her body, furrowing his brow, and said, "I'll find you a good husband."
"Okay."
She really needed to prepare well, take care of her skin, and wait for the day to win Covington back. Poppy walked upstairs.
After she left.
Aurora approached with a cup containing a dark brown liquid.
She had a smile on her face as she looked at Juniper and said, "This is the medicine Beckett gave, suitable for both men and women."
"Really?" Juniper didn't doubt her words; she just felt the benefits came too quickly.
"Yes! If we both take care of our bodies, it will be beneficial for pregnancy." Aurora hugged Juniper and said, "Honey, I want to have a child with you."
Juniper said, "Don't become an older mother. It's easy to have excessive bleeding. I'll be worried."
Aurora felt even sweeter after hearing this, saying, "I feel happy to have a child with you."
Juniper removed her hand and asked, "What if I ask you to raise a child for me?"
Aurora was stunned.
Juniper continued, "You're getting older, having unhealthy children, and experiencing the pain of childbirth. I'll bring one from outside for you to raise. How about that?"
"Honey, what do you mean?" Aurora's heart was trembling.
"Aurora, I already have a son. He was just born, not even a month old. I've decided to have him be your son."
This was an announcement, not a negotiation. Juniper knew she would compromise because she was always weak and couldn't bear to lose her current luxurious life.
Aurora accidentally knocked over the cup, tears streaming down her face.
What had all her efforts over the years amounted to?
Nothing.
In the end, she would have to raise the son of her husband's mistress.
"Aurora, my son cannot be called a bastard. It doesn't matter who his mother is. I hope you understand." Juniper stood up, patted her shoulder, and left.
His meaning was clear; if she didn't agree, he could easily replace her as his wife.
Aurora knelt on the ground, crying in despair.
Juniper!
How could you treat me like this?
All her efforts to find ways to improve her health were now meaningless!
