'Something is fishy! Something about this whole thing isn't right' Lucy Rose declares, she should be happy, excited that Monica isn't bearing down her neck as usual, but the absence of this made her even more worried and wary, what could her dearest mother be planning? She absolutely refuse to believe the women she's known since her childhood isn't concocting and scheming anything in response to her rebellion the day before. But ever is she to do? How is she supposed to make her next move if Monica decides to keep her cards hidden.
'Well! Fishy or not, I'm just happy she's not giving you hell for breaking off the engagement...' if there is one person who has continually witnessed and can attest to the vilness of Monica Solano to her daughter, it is definitely Estella, it wasn't until she witnessed how harshly the woman treated her own biological and only daughter, did she finally let go of the grudge she held her against for the humiliation at the luncheon, she thought to herself, if a woman can do all of these things to her own child, then no one self has a right to be mad at her cruelty when they only have to go through it occasionally, Meanwhile Lucy Rose go through it on daily bases. And despite her own woefully past and condition, she couldn't help but feel sorry for the girl who seems to have it all, but behind closed door, have nothing at all.
Lucy Rose still isn't convinced enough and something in her subconscious kept pushing her to find out what her mother might be up to, after she has her shower and changed into something comfortable while Estella hung around, cleaning and picking up after her, she grabs her phone and started towards the door with a resolution in mind, this time around, she isn't going to wake around for Monica to make the first move, she's going to go to Monica herself and use the element of surprise against her. As she made her way out of her quarters and headed to her mother's, it suddenly occured to her that she could count, on the tip of her fingers, the number of times she has willingly gone to her mother's quarters without getting summoned, growing up, Monica's quarters represented her biggest fear, each time she got summon, she'd feel the nauseating sensation of her stomach squeezing in repulsion, of her heart dropping all the way to the bottom of her stomach, such was the fear and terror she felt, but today, she's no longer that small fearful girl who has no choice but to dance to the tunes of her power drunk mother, she's the indomitable daughter of Dominic Ivanova, an honour roll student from a Ivy League college and the youngest but most senior executive at NOVA, all before the age of twenty three, now more than ever, her mother would have to learn to respect her as an adult and a full flesh human with anatomy.
Monica was sitting in the dais like coauch in her room when Lucy Rose walks in unannounced, Lilith has once told her that the best way to catch people unaware, is to walk in on them without notice or announcement, her mother used to do the same thing to her and the effect was always obvious, so she took a leaf from her book and applied the very same technique. Dressed in a organza kimono that gave her the divine and mystified aura, she's the very picture of elegance and grace, her attention is however taken my whoever it is she was speaking to over the phone so she didn't notice or hear when he daughter came into the room.
'...You can back out now Dante! We already have a deal and I intend to keep my part of it till the very end and you better do yours deligently or this time around, I won't sit quietly without retaliation...' her voice trails off and a look of panic crossed her feature when she suddenly looks up and saw Lucy Rose, staring at her with an unclear expression, she quickly ends the call and hides her phone away .
'Who was that? Who where you talking to? What deal are you talking about?' she asks, taking calculated steps closer to her mother who was momentarily stunned and unable to answer for a while. 'What are you scheming this time around? I'd really like to know' the condescension in Lucy Rose's tone finally force Monica would of panicked phase.
'What on earth Lucy Rose?' she exclaims with her usual air of dramatic theatrics. 'Have I really taught you no manners at all, how could you badge into my room without the courtesy of announcing yourself? What has gotten into you of late...'
'You should answer my questions first before posing one of your own' Lucy Rose interrupts rudely, shocking bother herself and her mother with her assertion, nothing if such has ever happened before 'I'm asking again, who were you talking to and hear deal did you make with this Dante person...' before she could complete her sentence, Monica was up on her, closing off her mouth with her palm to muff the rest of the words from coming out.
'Will you shut your mouth and stop screaming like a street urchin, you ungrateful child!. What gives you the right to walk in here and question me like that, I see you're really growing wing, you created so much ruckus yesterday and you hardly even seem remorseful for it and now I have to clear your mess so you don't ruin your own life, how could you have done something so stupid? How could you have treated poor Marcel like that...' Lucy Rose could help the burst of anger she felt inside her at the mention of Marcel name, she immediately got the inclination that Monica brought it up to derail her questions and suspicion about who she was talking to
