Chapter 174: 174

Chapter 174.

Writer's POV

"Fortunately for me, my wife just died. She used to live with me in the small cottage behind the castle. I had no other way to bury her, so I placed her in the coffin and rescued the queen."

"You expect us to believe such a cock-and-bull story? Oh come on; we aren’t kids. Remember, they opened the casket and who we saw was the queen. She was the one in the coffin, not your wife, so butt out!" an elder snapped at the old man.

"That's because after I woke up, I made her wear a mask that has exactly my face. That's how everyone came to believe I was the one. I was never dead from the start. Now I'm back to make my son resume his original position because Darien here is not the son of the late Alpha. I have witnessed that." All eyes widened, including Darien's and Alisha's; they didn't see this coming.

"What nonsense are you talking about? If we must talk about people who don't belong to the Alpha, then it's your son. Henry is not my brother; I know that so well!"

"You can shout all you want. I have proof to back up my claim. And mind you, if you truly are the Alpha's son, why were you not born with a wolf? Remember, even after the late Alpha died, you were still suffering from not having a wolf-like other people. You know what I'm saying. You just won’t admit it!" Emily said giggling.

"You are talking trash! I never got my wolf—all thanks to your evil deeds. I can remember I had a wolf when I was seven. If I had no wolf, my father would not have declared me his heir. You fucking caused it! I stopped feeling my wolf on my 7th birthday, and that's all thanks to you. You fucking sealed my wolf! I've had a wolf from day one; he's just sealed within, waiting to be freed by true love. You are the real traitor here, so don't even think of blaming other people for your silly acts," Darien blurted angrily.

"Then I guess it's time I show the proof to the pack members. I even have evidence." Henry pushed Dora closer.

"Here she was in the palace days ago, and you all can attest to that. She was actually here to get some blood from the Alpha. I sent her because I knew the pack members would never believe me if I didn’t bring proof. Dora over here got a strand of her hair, then I handed her the one I have of the late Alpha that I have been saving for this day. Then he did a test. I'm sure you all are curious to know what the result said."

"Come on, Dora, come explain it to them." Alisha clenched her fists as she watched Dora step closer. Was it not the same girl who came to tell her about their plan? Wait, so it was all planned that day? But she didn't look like she was making up those stories that day, right? Something is definitely not right.

"I'm Dora, and like you all know, I was here a few days back. I wasn't genuinely here to help the Alpha; I came to get a strand of his hair to run a test on him."

"So this was it? How dare she come here to do nonsense?" a maid jibbered from the back.

"And who does she think she is? I knew she was up to no good. She was only feigning her kindness. She's not different from that stinky Sandra. I can't believe she has the guts to come back here after escaping from the dungeon. It's all the Alpha's fault for not killing her," another jibbered.

"What are you saying, Dora? You and I know that's not true. There's no way that can be my hair, and mind you, there was no time you took my hair, so stop whatever nonsense you are fabricating!" Emily scoffed.

"What makes you think you can scare her into stopping? She's surely going to speak of your evil, so let her!"

"I managed to get your hair the day you came back drunk. I'm sorry I had to take your hair without your permission, but I was only obeying an order!" Alisha looked at her, trying to mind-link her, but then again her mind-link seemed to be blocked. Immediately, she knew it was Henry's mom, so she called a maid over.

"In a while, pretend like you want to leave, then stumble into the old lady. She's blocking Dora's mind link, and it's not good for us. We can't just sit back and watch them lie against us," Alisha told the maid, who nodded and then returned to where she was previously standing.

"It's okay if you don't believe her evidence; I have the real evidence. It was what I found out that made him attempt to kill me. He knew I would expose him, so he tried getting rid of me. But all thanks to the moon goddess who has kept me alive till now, if he was truly the real heir, why then do you think the coronation failed? It was the first time in history where a coronation failed, so what other proof do you all need to be convinced?"

"The late Alpha was a man of good character; he would never crown Darien if he wasn't his son. Remember, he was the one who banished your son for attempting to kill his brother?"

"Remember, killing is an offense worthy of death, but why didn't the late Alpha kill Henry? Why did he only choose to banish him? Guess you don't know; then let me tell you! His mom used black magic to hold the Alpha down. She brainwashed him into crowning her son; she's evil," Emily blurted.

"Have you forgotten that Darien's mom was his original mate? You are just a desperate maid who took advantage of his drunken state and slept with him. They already had Darien before you came into the picture; don't make it look like you are the right one!"

"Yeah, I know I was desperate. I only did what I did to help the Alpha. Back after he rescued me from the hands of the enemies and brought me here to work as a maid, I overheard Luna talking to Darien's nanny, who happens to be her younger sister. She told her that Darien was not the Alpha's son; I heard it so well."

"How the hell do you expect us to believe you when you are the only one? Who knows? The late Alpha would also tell us something different if he happens to be here," an elder said.

"It shouldn't cause a fuss. She should provide the necessary evidence that Darien is not the son of the late Alpha, then what other proof do you all need?"

"You and I know everything you are saying is all cooked-up stories. You can easily cook up stories since the late Alpha is not here to speak for himself. You have always been evil; you even attempted to kill my sister's child severely, yet you blame others for it!" Emily hissed, then continued.

"That day, after I heard it, I couldn't just stand back and watch, so I decided to help the Alpha…”
