Chapter 94: Bliss in chaos

I woke up to the sound of Angel's running feet, the butler trying his best to keep her in check and organize her party, too, and the sound of some other people going around.

I leaned back, my hair falling back, a sigh leaving my lips as I opened my eyes. Sin was lying on my lap, his eyes still closed, one hand resting on mine. I gave a small smile as I looked up, and Angel was running towards us, screaming something.

There was a team of decorators going on, and the butler was talking to someone over the phone, arranging their arrival for early tomorrow morning.

"Angel, please," he said once he cut the call and finally brought her back, stopping her from jumping straight onto her father.

I gave a small laugh, and Sin stirred, his brows furrowed. It was already a wonder that he hadn't woken up earlier from the noise because he was always on such high alert that I wondered how his body could still remain at optimal performance.

Angel gave me a big smile as the butler coaxed her into going to her room, and she waved, her chatter still loud.

I smiled at her retreating figure, then looked down at Sin. He was unfortunately already waking up, his brows furrowed, his eyes thin with sleep.

"Good morning," I said, my voice a small whisper.

He met my eyes, then sighed, his body relaxing. "I have a headache."

I leaned to him, my hand resting on his forehead. "Do you feel..."

He shook his head. "Just a headache."

Before I could say anything, he sat up, grabbed his phone, and then kissed my forehead.

"Thank you. I will take a shower."

I nodded, smiling, as he stood up, then adjusted his shirt before making his way upstairs. I watched his disappear before I turned back to the busy living room. The decorations were still ongoing, and I stood up and walked out of the living room to the massive compound.

To my surprise, it was fully decorated, too, and held large banners of professional photoshoots of Angel. She was sitting in a few, her dress spread around her, her smile big. The last one had Sin in it. He was carrying her, his lips against her cheeks, both their eyes closed, her smile big.

I smiled wistfully. They were so beautiful. So adorable.

"Ma'am?"

I turned to the butler, who looked stressed. I couldn't blame him. "Yes?"

"The items for the tents have been brought. They are at the back. I thought you would need tools, too, so I got them. There is everything you need."

I nodded. Sin had seemed rather tired, and since it was already chaotic enough, I could just go ahead and do him this favor.

The prospect of surprising him for the very first time after everything he had done for me was thrilling, and I immediately nodded at the butler.

"Please bring them in. I will set them up myself."

He nodded, then sent two security guards to the back. I pushed my hair into a high bun, then walked back to the sitting room. It was big enough for the decorators and me, and I thought of making the tents here in the living room. They would each have their space, and the place would already be decorated.

The items were brought in, and I looked for the picture again. The butler thankfully had it on a tablet, and I sat on the floor observing it. I had spent years of my life doing fixes like these to get by. This was no big deal. Besides, they had all of those fancy materials that would make my work much easier. The butler propped the tablet up where I could see it, then walked away to continue with preparations.

I worked through the items, cutting and fitting, till I had five medium-sized tent frames that would fit five little children.

"What are you doing, mummy?"

I turned to Angel, then smiled. "You are going to sleep in these tents tomorrow. One for each of your friends."

She gave a gasp, covering her mouth with her little hands, and I thought she was absolutely adorable.

"We are going to sleep here?"

I nodded, and it immediately resulted in a happy fit, running around and announcing to anyone who cared that she would get to sleep in a tent.

I finished the tents up, draping them in the printed princess material. Of course, Angel was Soohia, and I randomly assigned princesses to the rest of the other girls.

It was way past lunch by the time I finished, Angel was asleep after a hearty meal, the butler was talking to the event organizers in charge, the designers were halfway through, and Sin was not down yet.

I became a little worried, and since I was done with the tents anyway, I dusted myself off and grabbed a tray. I filled it with food for both of us, then went upstairs.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't what I saw. I thought he had become caught up with some work or some arrangement, but the first thing that greeted me was his clothes on the floor and a robe on the edge of the bed.

Now, Sin is probably three times cleaner than I ever could be, so this was a first.

I looked up to the bed, and he was lying in bed, the sheets covering his back from his waist down, his hair ruffled, fast asleep, and I could tell that he was completely naked.

I felt a blush rise up my cheeks as I dropped the tray and walked to where he was lying. His face was turned away from me, and the large expanse of his back, tattoos and all, was right there for me to see.

I bit down on my lips and sat beside him, then leaned close, gently moving the sheets upwards to avoid any mishaps. When it looked like it was in safe territory, I leaned away, my eyes taking him in.

He had seemed so invincible, and he was here, repaying lost sleep?

It caused me to laugh, and I leaned, kissing the back of his shoulder, before I moved away.

Well, tried to move because before I could even get to the edge of the bed, his hand grabbed me, stopping me in place.

I turned to him, and he had moved, the sheets now wrapped around his lower body, his eyes still thin with sleep.

"Stay here," he said, his voice a lazy sleep-induced drawl, his lashes fluttering slowly.

"You should rest."

"I am," he said, pulling me closer.

I sighed. "I stink. I was..."

"Come here, Annalise."

I sighed, shrugging. With one swift move, I got out of the clothes I was wearing and lay beside him in just underwear, my eyes meeting his.

He gave a small smile, his hand holding mine tight, his eyes closing again.
