Chapter 60: 60

Food arrived.

Lev observed her plate waiting for her to finish the beef. As soon as she emptied the side dish, he offered hers by placing it on her table and said, "Have more."

She paused, flashing enragement directly at that piece of piece.

Leonid saw him pick up his piece of beef and extend his arms to put it on her plate.

In a flash of light, he received hostility from Elvira's deadliest stare. He startled, and the beef slipped accidentally on her plate.

Sensing that would boil her anger more, he took back his beef abruptly, excusing, "Sorry, I slipped mine."

She appeared to forgive Leonid, but her intense glare was on the piece of beef that Lev offered her. She continued being like that purposely and avoided eating further.

Leonid acknowledged that. So he eyed Lev lip-syncing, "Take back yours; otherwise, she won't eat."

"What?" Lev was clueless.

"Took back!" Leonid eyes him again.

Lev found Elvira paused eating, and he realised it was because of his beef. So he took back his saying cautiously, "I'm sort of sidedishes. So... I will take mine."

Leonid gave a thumbs-up and continued to have dinner, and Elvira did also.

Thereafter, they walked her home despite her avoiding them by keeping a ten-meter distance.

"At least she looks at your eyes." With a dejected look, Lev envied him while Elvira went in once after frowning at Leonid.

A brief, proud smile escaped Leonid's lips. Then they headed back.

"What about the temporary chairman? Will you go against me?" Lev interrogated.

"I trust you in business. Everyone in the company had seen your sincerity. No wonder if they chose you." He complimented. Giving subtly narrowed eyes, he sternly said, "But I won't trust you in Elvira's matter."

On the chairman selection day, everyone arrived at the meeting hall and began to vote.

Sasha wrote Leonid's name surprisingly.

At last, Lev was the lead candidate. So he proposed giving gratitude, "Thank you for trusting in me."

After everyone left, Sasha approached Lev, who appeared distressed about something.

She caressed his chest tenderly, whispering in his ear seductively, "Are you stressed?"

Lev grasped her hand and threw it. "Keep your distance!" He roared.

Sasha took back her hand, dumbfounded.

"Do you know why my son didn't show much attention to this position?" Asked Sasha.

Lev looked up at her.

"He purely goes for his love, unlike you, who wants her because of money." Sasha frankly dictated to irritated Lev.

"Watch your mouth!" Lev scowled.

"Then can you give up on this luxury life for Elvira?" She pointedly queried.

Lev went tranquil; uncertainty sat on his face.

"My son can," Sasha said brazenly. "This is the difference between you and him." She fearlessly dictated his fault.

He instantly regretted his anger. "You have no idea why I am keeping this." He declared.

Sasha shook her head as if he wasn't going to understand her, so she left.

At night, Leonid waved his hand at Elvira, who went inside as if Leonid was invisible.

"Let's see tomorrow, dear!" He voiced lovingly, smiling himself.

At 11:00 pm, Elvira awakened, hearing the door knocking sound. "Who is this at hour?" She questioned herself, clueless. Switching on the light, she approached the door.

Peeking through the hole, she found it was Lev, and he also seemed to be drunk heavily. "Why is he here?" Fear occupied her face. Despite her hesitation, her soft side for him forced her to open the door.

She opened. He ended up falling over her shoulder and hugging her.

She cuffed, unable to manage his weight. Tapping his back, she tried to wake him up. "Lev? Lev?"

He stepped inside without uncuffing her and making her lean back on the wall he stood facing her. She drifted her eyes away from him as soon as he reached.

"Look up at me," Lev requested with his pitiful eyes.

She obeyed him.

With tears swelling his eyes, he contemplated. "Did I ever hurt you?"

She shook her head. "No."

"Did I ever use any offensive words to you?"

"No,"

"Do you have any idea about when I fall for you?"

"No,"

"Aren't I more nice than Leonid?"

She nodded. "You are."

Both of their eyes were hooked.

"I did all that for you only. I have no interest in money. Do you believe it?"

She nodded only once, and that was at a leisurely speed.

"Then why do you keep avoiding me? I can treat you the same and live for you, Elvira." With a pleaded drooling face, he proposed.

Austin was watching them, forgetting what he came for.

Even Elvira glimpsed Austin's presence. She prefers to be quiet and listen to Lev.

"I'm not that psycho to hurt my love, Elvira. Can't you give me a second chance for me?" He implored in front of her altruistic-extendending eyes.

Those drunken reddish eyes slowly flickered.

"You seem not okay; let me bring some water first." She was concerned, rushing to the kitchen.

He grasped her hand and pulled her by her waist.

Austin was shocked and covered his eyes with his hands still peeking through the knuckles' gape. Gorgeously looking into her eyes, Lev groused, "Don't ignore me. I don't seem to deserve to live when your eyes refuse to see me."

Elvira was disquieted about how his touches were making her uncomfortable.

She met his eyes boldly and asserted, "You have no idea why I'm mad at you."

"Then explain; I will adjust." Lev desperately begged for a second chance.

Elvira sighed, "You can't!"

Lev laid back, releasing her. He blinked as if his head were spinning. He ended up falling to the ground, partially unconscious.

Austin rushed and helped Elvira to lift him. They put him on the sofa.

"I can't even avoid him properly. What I do?" Elvira is frustrated, staring at Lev.

"Send him to his house, sister. If Leonid's brother came to know about this, he would be mad at me." Austin informed her.

With just an evil eye that warned her, "I will kill you by myself if you open your mouth about this."

Austin folded his lips. Hand signed, "Okay!"

The next day. Early at the coffee shop before Elvira came.

"Did he touch her anywhere?" Leonid queried Austin madly.

"Yeah! Hip, and hand." Austin detailedly showed how Lev grabbed and pulled her by the waist.

Leonid breathed heavily and slammed the table surface hard.

"What are you going to do for that?"

Elvira's sarcastic tone startled both Leonid and Austin.

Austin sat down immediately after glancing at Elvira's scowling face.

Leonid veered around to her. Masking his apprehension, he questioned her, "Why did you just stand instead of pushing him away?"

"Who are you to ask this?" Elvira pointedly knocked him.

"Husband!" He asserted.

"In your dream!" She resonated before heading inside the changing room.
