His vision became blurred gradually as Elvira was stunned, not knowing how to act quickly. As those gangsters charged him, Leonid fainted and fell to the ground.
Witnessing him lying unconscious, Elvira's eyes got weary, like going to shut soon. She also faints after that.
The last word she heard was, "Leave her!"
That vehement-filled voice came from Elvira's behind. Even in that situation, Elvira's mouth chewed 'Lev' as she perceived her body getting carried by someone's cold hand.
She foretold that the familiar approach belonged to Lev.
"Finish him!" Lev ordered, glaring at the unconscious Woo sunk.
Halfly fainted Elvira couldn't help but to listen only.
A few minutes later, she totally fainted and fell into an unconscious state while she was being taken to hospital by Lev.
Within a second after her soul lost her unconsciousness, she awakened quickly in another bed and glimpsed Lev's smiling face saying, "You are alright now."
She gasped, glazing into Lev's delighted eyes. Her heart remained inclement. Additionally, she acknowledged that she was transported back to her 19-year-old self just by scanning Lev's younger look.
"Leevv?" She addressed him like her dear friend, and the conflicted-edged look in her eyes couldn't believe what she was doing there.
"Are you okay?" Asked Lev, raising his hand to stroke her hair.
She moved a little bit, avoiding his touch.
"What am I doing here?"
"What happened to me?"
She questioned herself while browsing around herself. Noticing the room she was currently in wasn't Woo Sink's house, she switched her baffled brimming eyes to Lev, "Where are we? Where is my husband?"
"Husband?" Lev sarcastically asked and chuckled at her. "Here is your future husband, Elvira." He pointed himself with an innocent-looking face.
She wrinkled her eyebrows and barely took it as a joke.
"What do you mean?" She was totally bewildered.
"We are going to get married in a week. Don't act like you were in a coma. You just fainted by doing overwork. Let's go downstairs and grab something to eat." He held her wrist and pulled her to get off the bed.
"Marriage? You and me?" She questioned him instead of getting off the bed.
"Yes, then who do you want to be with?" Lev teased.
Elvira dropped her sight down at the floor. "What is happening here?"
"Let's go!" He gently dragged her hand.
With a baffled look on her face, she followed him.
As he reached downstairs, her eyes browsed the whole living hall for Leonid's presence. She ended up failing in that. They even almost finished the dinner, but no one talked about Leonid. That disturbed her mind unusually.
"May I ask?" She asked herself, nervous to speak.
Lev spotted her uneasiness and asked, "What's bothering you, Elvira?"
She shuddered slightly, gave a hesitating eye, and asked directly with trembling lips, "Where is Leonid?"
Soon after that, the dining table encountered a deep silence. Even Lev's eye contemplated the hatred, and he breathed heavily before leaving the dining table.
"Lev?" She called him, but his stepmother's dictation sowed mild thunder shock in her heart: "You must overcome your feelings, Elvira. He isn't here anymore."
"What do you mean by that?" She strikes out the question right away as her heart falters.
"He got kicked out of the house," his aunt replied.
"Kicked out of the house?" She sounded desperate. Despite her heart easing a mild realising Leonid was alive, she couldn't tolerate the reality that Leonid wasn't here with her.
"Why? Why did you do this, Grandpa?" Her query turned to her grandfather, who was about to sneak out of the complicated atmosphere.
He seated back and replied with a shivering voice, "Uhm... He... He..."
"What are you swallowing back?" Elvira righteously asked.
"Let me say that," Leonid's mother dragged her attention.
Elvira gave a sharp look at her.
"He... He said Lev and I had a secret relationship. Isn't that wrong, Elvira? Taking bad about his mother?" Sasha shed crocodile tears that caused Elvira to believe.
"Did Leonid talk like that?"
Deep in her heart, which still belongs to Leonid, she couldn't digest the truth.
She drowned in thoughts as everyone left the dining table.
"Keep it up!" Lev's aunt encouraged Sasha, who smirked sarcastically back at Elvira while Elvira was staring at her empty plate without knowing how to digest the reality.
