Chapter 5
I walked into my dad's house to be tackled in a hug by Karen.
"Oh my god, oh my god, I can’t believe it. You don't know how much I'm happy. This is a dream come true. I've always wanted a grandchild" Karen said.
"What are you doing here and how you know?" I asked.
"We came here since your brothers told us" Karen said.
"Darling, I’m so happy for you, I’m proud of you Lia" dad said giving me a hug.
"Thanks Dad" I Said.
"I'm glad that you're the mother of my grandchild, congratulations darling" Manuel said.
"thanks" I Said with a smile.
I sat beside Karen as she put a hand on my tummy.
"Oh god, can you believe that our grandchild is in here? In this baby bump?" Karen said as I giggled.
"we heard that you didn't tell Shawn" Manuel said.
"I know you're thinking about everything, because this is a big step for you, we know everything you think, and we understand. Although The is our son but we know that you'll have to tell him sooner or later. But you should know that if Shawn didn't accept it which will be the greatest mistake he has done then me and Manuel will always be with you. Because whatever happens, that baby inside of you is still our grandchild. We love you Lia, and we know you'll be an amazing mother" Karen said.
"Thank you Karen, I'm telling him this week" I Said.
"LIA!" Liylah and Ava yelled.
"Hey!" I Said hugging both of them.
"Are we going to be aunts?!" Ava said as I nodded.
"AGHHHHHH" Ava and Liylah jumped up and down together.
"Oh my god!" Ava yelled.
"We're so happy!" Liylah Said.
"But girls, don't say anything to Shawn, he will know like tomorrow or the day after it. Because I have an appointment and he need to be there" I Said.
"Shawn doesn't know?" Aaliyah said.
"Yeah she's just making him a surprise!" Karen said.
"OH! You should take a video so we could see" Ava said as I gave them a weak smile.
Two days later:
I entered the house after going to the grocer to buy some milk to make pancakes for breakfast.
"I'm home" I Said.
"Shawn?" I called.
"come to the room now" I heard Shawn say after a few minutes of silence.
I entered our room.
" what wrong?" I asked but my eyes widened when I saw the pregnancy test and the pregnancy medicines in front of Shawn on the bed.
"what’s this" he said with no emotion.
I stayed silent.
"Lia, What.. is.. this ?" Shawn Said again.
"Shaw—" I was stopped by him.
"don't you Shawn me Lia! Is this true? Are you pregnant?" Shawn asked.
"Lia, I’m not gonna ask you again. Are you pregnant!" Shawn said his voice getting louder as I could feel tears filling my eyes.
I nodded while looking down.
"Wow, how long?" Shawn asked.
"3 months?" I Said.
"so, you've been fucking lying to me all this time! That's explains everything Lia! The baggy shirts! You not drinking, nor entering the pool! Eating a lot! Does my friend know?!" Shawn said raising his voice.
"Does my friends know?" He asked.
I nodded.
"My family?" He asked.
I stayed silent as tears fell.
"LIA DOES MY FUCKING FAMILY KNOW?!" He yelled.
I nodded again.
"so, what I get from all this! Is that you're fucking pregnant with my fucking baby. And everyone knows about it except for me?" Shawn said yelling.
"I can explain, I’m sorry" I Said.
"SORRY WONT CHANGE ANYTHING LIA!" Shawn yelled as he got out of the room while I followed him.
"Shawn please" I said crying.
He got out of the apartment and slammed the door while I broke down.
4 hours later, I got myself together after receiving a call for my appointment.
I headed to the hospital with a blank mind.
I sat in the waiting room as I waited for my name to be called.
"Amelia Johns?" My name was called, and I stood.
"Room 5, the doctor is waiting for you" the receptionist said.
I searched for room 5 and entered.
"hello Amelia Johns" the doctor said, "how are you today?" She asked.
"been better, you?" I Said.
"I'm great, so you're here for the ultra sound and to see your baby for the first time right?" She said as I nodded.
"Have a seat here" she said.
I Laid down on the bed.
"Are you here alone? Where is the father of the baby?" She asked as I could feel the tears coming.
"um... he can't come today" I Said.
"Oh okay" she said as she rose my shirt up "this might be a bit cold" she said as she put some liquid on my tummy, I shivered at her touch.
She then took the machine and put it on my stomach.
"where's that baby of yours" she said looking at the screen.
"Ah look there is your baby!!!" She said pointing at the screen.
"look at his little thing, that's your baby Amelia" the doctor said as tears filled my eyes.
"let's see your baby is fine as I can see, I w—oh, are you the father of the baby" the doctor said as I turned back quickly looking at Shawn who had tears running down while looking at the screen.
