Chapter 31 Roommate Fight

*"Where the hell have you been?"* she demands getting up in my face. Her hands are on her hips while she takes a step in my direction. What the hell is her problem now? She's *not my mother* and the way things are headed we won't be friends anymore very soon. I was really hoping my roommate would support me and we could be friends, *but there is just something off about Gwen...*

"Well, I was with Wes," I say, backing up into him. I really don't want to do this right now. *I've already had a hard three days and she seems to make things worse.* I don't even know why I bother speaking. She won't listen to a word I have to say. She has already made up her mind about me... Maybe it's time to find a new roommate...

"Why? *You've been with him two nights in a row!* You were supposed to be here last night!" she grits her teeth.

"Gwen, last time I checked, I can go wherever I want and you are not my mother," I huff in frustration. She is really getting on my last nerve and I'm trying my damnedest to keep it together, but if she keeps pushing I'm gonna snap! "And I didn't do it on purpose!"

"So you're just gonna ditch me for him?" She stomped her way to me and shoved hard. I had nowhere to go but deeper into his body. *"What about me?"*

"Gwen, *I don't know what the problem is.* I didn't ditch you for anyone! I'm here *and you're throwing a fit!*" I growl in annoyance. What is wrong with her? Does she have a logic problem, because the more I talk to her the more I wonder how the hell she even made it into this school!

"Yeah, because you never came home last night!" she yells in my face.

Spit actually dribbles down my chin. Ew! I wipe it off the the back of my hand and shover her away from me. I have had enough of this bitch right now! All I wanted was to come home and change so I could get ready for class, not to have an early morning spat with my roomie! I just need to get her away from me right now so I can calm down!

My tears I'd been holding back this morning decide now is a good time to leak. *I really don't want to look weak,* but I'm so damn tired of all this crap she's been throwing at me. "Do you even know what happened to me last night? *Or is everything only about you?"*

Gwen is gobsmacked. "What do you mean?" she demands.

"There was an incident at Sunny Days last night and Wes was there for me!" I grit my teeth, fighting my emotions.

Gwen looks confused, but doesn't look convinced. "You're lying. *You just want to get into Wes' pants!"* She grits out.

This time Wes snarls, pushing me gently behind him. *"YOU BITCH! How dare you talk to her like that! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT! YOU have NO IDEA what she has been dealing with!"* He pushes Gwen away from me.

"But Wes... *Everyone knows she's just a slut!* Don't act like you don't know!" She demands.

"And how the hell is a *virgin* a slut, Gwen? I know you are pissed because I won't touch you with a ten foot pole, *but that has nothing to do with you!*" He yells at the blond.

*"Sh-she's a virgin?*" she asked, her face contorted in confusion.

*"YES!* Why the hell are you going around calling your roommate a slut *when we all know it's actually YOU!"* he shouts at her. *"We've never had sex.* So whatever lies you've been telling everyone *better stop right now* or I'll take her away from you completely. *You don't deserve to be with her!"*

Her eyes finally filled with tears, then she backs away and runs into her room, slamming her door.

Wes sighs and turns around, pulling me into his arms. I can feel his heart pounding against my cheek. I wrap my arms around him and bury my face against his chest.

"I'm sorry about that baby," He whispers. I can feel him vibrating in anger, but I don't want him to think *he* did anything wrong. He was just trying to protect me from my crazy roommate... *And I really had hoped she would be my friend.*

I push up on my tip toes and place a soft kiss on his lips. "It's not your fault," I insist. "C'mon, let's go."

I want to be in my room where I can hold my boyfriend without anyone interrupting us, so I take Wes' hand and we walk to my room. But the moment my door is open I scream.

*Not here! How the hell is this happening to me?* My heart is in panic mode as I scream bloody murder.

Gwen flies out of her door looking confused.

*Then it hits me like a ton of bricks!*

I turn to my deceitful roommate, pointing an angry finger at her, completely seething. *"IT'S BEEN YOU!"* I screech.

"Wh-what?" She backs away from me. I see fear cross her face, *like she's just noticed I've gone crazy. But it's all her fault! I know it!*

*"YOU ARE THE ONE LEAVING THE MANNEQUINS EVERYWHERE!"* I shout.

"Mannequins?" she asks, confused. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"Are you trying to mess with Jamie?" Wes demands, trying to separate the two of us, putting a protective arm around me.

"What?" She asks, still completely confused, looking between the two of us like she has no clue what's going on. *As if!*

"Baby, I don't think she knew it was in there," Wes whispers in my ear, looking straight at her.

*"How can it not be her?"* I demand. *"Who else has access to my room?"*

"Sweetheart, I don't know. *But it wasn't me.* I was with you the whole time," Wes says.

Well, that didn't even cross my mind. He has been the only one that was one hundred percent on my side. There is no way I'd believe it was Wes! *It had to be Gwen... Right?*

"Then who?" I whimper. I need answers, and I need them now before I spiral out of control.

"We'll figure it out," he promises. "Let's call the cops."

I nod and then I turn to my room.

It's the same mannequin from last night, only it has a new sign.

*"What beats over 100,000 times per day? A woman's tends to be faster than a man's? And you can literally die from it if it breaks?"* I whisper.

"What the hell is that thing?" shrieks Gwen, peeking over our shoulders. *"How did it get in here?"*

*"It's a heart,"* Wes grumbles, holding me closer. I can feel the fear running through both our bodies.

*Because he is right. But I really don't want to die of a broken heart.*
