Chapter 26: ~Ch. 26~ Saving Faith

“This might hurt!” Olivia, reminded Faith.

“I’m ready for it!” Faith is saying but she is squeezing her eyes closed.

Olivia places one hand under her face and the other on her heart. She closes her eyes too, and something magical happens. She can see and feel that Faith is feeling.

Her wolf Freya whispers, “She needs herbs and a little magic!”

Olivia speaks in her mind, “What kind of herbs and how do you know?”

Freya replies, “You’ll know when you see it and I know because I feel it.”

Olivia opens her eyes and speaks to faith, “Do you have herbs?”

Faith shakes your head no, “Not in the village, they grow in the mountains.”

Olivia stands up, “Take me to them!”

Faith is hesitant, “If we go then the other tribe might approach us and challenge us again!”

Olivia Knits her eyebrows, “Who am I?”

Faith laughs, “I know, but the other tribes are different!”

Olivia won’t take no for an answer, “If you have any chance of defeating this deficiency then we need herbs!”

Sterling overhears the argument and cuts in, “I will go with you guys. It will just be the three of us.”

Olivia takes her hand and hers, “We will protect you!”

Faith’s father sneaks in from behind Sterling, “I am OK with. If it will save you and they will protect you then you need to take them!”

She bows her head, “Okay!” Her tone shows that she is still worried.

As they make their way to the edge of the property, the leader pulls Sterling on the side. Saying, “Please protect her. Her soulmate told her that if he sees her again that he will kill her.”

Sterling‘s jaw tightens, “How could somebody do that to their mate?”

The old man forces a smile, “We are considered the lowest of the low…”

Sterling stops him, “Before we mated and officiated the bond I was The alpha king and she was a human in an orphanage.”

The old man listens with intent, “On her 18th birthday she became a medium, and when we bonded, we are not hybrid.”

The old man gasps, “You truly are the ones!”

Sterling smiles softly at him and nods, “Yes but the point is she was considered a low life human, but even I couldn’t turn away from my mate!”

Sterling whispers to the old man, “Can she reject him and get a new soulmate?”

The old man makes a disapproving noise, “Second chance mates are far and in between!”

Sterling shrugs his shoulders, “If he’s as bad as you say, then I say that we strengthen her up, and then she can reject him and find someone that deserves her!”

The father smiles, “I’d feel safer with the goddesses approval. If she rejects him and doesn’t have a second chance mate, she will die, lonely, and sad. We don’t marry other people's soulmates!”

Sterling is confident, “Olivia and I will get the moon goddesses approval.”

The leader is unsure that he’ll be able to reach the moon goddess because he has tried several times. He doesn’t want to show that he has disbelief so he said he just nods and Sterling on the back. He gives his daughter a hug and whispers, good luck in her ear.

The three of them continue to walk on the side of the mountain. “It’s just ahead.” Faith ensures them.

“Whose territory is this?” Sterling asks.

“It’s supposed to be mutual territory.” Faith responded with sadness in her tone.

“Supposed to be?” Olivia asked.

“It was back in the day.” Faith replies.

“It’s not anymore?” Sterling is curious.

Faith shrugs, “The other packs have agreed with each other that our pack doesn’t deserve to be in the same ground as them.”

Olivia shakes her head, “Shame on them.”

Sterling nods and add, “That’s not up for them to decide.

Their words, but at the same time she’s filled with fear. What is going to happen if the tribes show up and try to challenge these two? She is still in her weak state and will not be able to defend herself.

Faith just simply replies, “This is how they’ve been doing it for decades.”

Olivia wraps her arm around her in support, “Things are about to change.”

Faith is filled with curiosity, “How will we be able to change it?”

Sterling is observing the herbs and gathering the ones he’s familiar with, “The moon Goddess told us that we will rule and protect everyone.”

Faith repeats, “Everyone?”

Olivia gives her a sweet smile, “Wolves, witches, mediums, all magical beings and humans.”

Faiths eyes are filled with hopeful tears, “Me too?”

Sterling is positive, “Yes, we believe you and your tribe are our first mission.”

Faith mimics his word, “Mission?”

Olivia laughs lightly, “The moon Goddess sent you to us so we could help you to service.”

Sterling adds, “She sees you and your struggles and she loves you the same!”

Olivia can see that Faith is getting emotional so she encourages, “Let’s start fathering herbs!”

Faith nods in agreement, wiping away her tears. Olivia makes her way to the herbs. She is drawn to a specific group. She bends down and rubs her hands across them.

Her wolf Freya is excited, “We need a few of each!”

Olivia goes to pick them but Frey adds, “Only take a few leaves, if you pull it out the plant will die!”

Olivia repeats to the other two, “Only take a few leaves. If you pull it out then it will kill the plant!”

Faith adds, “Each leaf has seeds in it. You just have to know how to get the seeds out and then we can grow our own!”

Sterling nods, “I’ll be careful!”

Frey starts to give orders, “Now grab a few of everything. All of these are for medicine. You need more of the purple ones because those are for Faith. She will need them to spread on her whole body!”

“What are you doing here!” A man’s voice is fuming with anger.

They turn to see a man with her black hair, huge muscles, and tribal tattoos everywhere but his face.

Olivia gasps, “Matteo!”

The man point an angry finger at her, “I told you that if I saw you ever again that I would kill you!”

At least a hundred others surround them.
