Chapter 22: Symbiotic Relationship

"Oh..." I could hear his moans, and it made me wonder what Xavier's face looked like when he was enjoying it.

Xavier's eyes closed and he started pulling my hair, holding my head in his hands as he rocked his hips.

"Ugh—" I nearly choked as he went too fast, making his dick feel like it was stabbing into my throat.

As if he didn't care, Xavier continued until his dick was fully erect. It had grown much larger, longer, and harder, as he cheekily slapped my face with it.

"Are you ready, my love?" He asked, teasing me with his mischievous gaze.

"Yes," I replied. I lay on my back, my legs spread wide, ready to receive the pleasure Xavier was about to give me.

I welcomed his kiss as he began to kiss me. My arms immediately wrapped around his back tightly, as if I didn't want to let go.

Our eyes met and I stared into each other's, seeing nothing but intense passion that was so hard to resist.

"Is it okay to be like this? Is it okay to enjoy it like this? I'm getting more and more comfortable with him and it's making me even more afraid of becoming too attached to him," I thought to myself. I wasn't aware of what was going on in my head. I was hesitant and felt guilty towards Jacob, but it was impossible for me to refuse Xavier.

"Focus on me, Layla! I don't want you to think about anything else but me right now. I won't forgive you if you try to think about anything else again!"

"I'm sorry!" I said regretfully. Xavier always knew what I was thinking, and I didn't want him to be mad at me.

I returned his kiss more aggressively so he would know that my thoughts were solely on him right now. But just as I was about to do so, Jake's face and all the sweet things we'd done together came flooding back into my mind.

"Jake?" I thought. Aren't I cruel? Aren't I a traitor?

I felt something strange. I opened my eyes and saw Xavier stop kissing me. His expression was so cold, and I was sure he knew what I was thinking.

"X-Xavier, I-"

"Let's stop! You don't seem very passionate tonight!"

"N-no! I just-"

"Just what?" He looked annoyed, while I immediately grabbed his hand as he tried to leave.

"Xavier, can I sleep with you in my arms? I'm just a little overwhelmed because I've never been away from Jake before. Especially at a time like this, I feel uneasy leaving him."

"I'm not that good that you'd think I'd want to hold you in my sleep. I don't like sleeping with other people."

"I-is that so? I-I'm sorry!" I lowered my head. It was true, I couldn't assume Xavier would do anything for me even though he said we could use each other as lovers. But maybe this was something different.

"Yeah okay, but just for tonight, do you understand?" He said. I nodded with a smile. Xavier lay down beside me and positioned himself facing me. He hugged me and rested my forehead against his chest. His scent was so sweet, it made me feel a little calmer.

Unconsciously, tears welled in my eyes, and the sadness I'd forgotten about resurfaced. I didn't know why there was never any happiness in my life. Why did I constantly experience only sorrow and pain?

I sobbed, Xavier hugged me tighter, and my hands went to his back.

"Xavier—"

"Hmm?

"How long do I have to suffer like this? How long will I—"

"I don't know."

"Will Jake be okay?"

"I don't know that either, why are you asking me that?"

"You're not romantic at all. Jake's always been nice to me, but you—"

"I'm not him and why are you comparing me to him anyway?"

"Because you said we were dating from now on, so I thought—"

"It's not something you should take seriously. Our relationship is just a symbiotic relationship, nothing more! Come on, if you keep complaining like that, let's just call it quits. We're not a real couple!" Xavier, looking upset, immediately turned his back to me.

I thought I could lean on him, but that wasn't something I could do. Xavier wasn't the Jacob I'd known since childhood. He was just someone I'd met two weeks ago.

I lay back down, turned my back to him and cried again. I cried because I missed my mother, my grandfather, and Jacob so much. There was no one to wipe my tears away now.

"Layla!" Xavier called out to me. But I refused to look at him.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't make me look like a jerk!"

"I didn't do anything! I just want to sleep."

"Face this way!"

"No need! I'm comfortable in this position!"

"Hey, I said face this way and lift your head!" He pulled my hand forcefully to make me face him. I couldn't fight his strength and strong grip.

Xavier wiped my tears and kissed my lips, like magic, making the sadness I felt earlier disappear.

"Feeling better?"

"What did you do? Why does it feel like something is shining inside my head?"

"A magic to erase sadness. How do you feel now?"

"I don't know, but I feel calmer. Thank you, Xavier. You're so kind!"

"I don't like being treated kindly, especially by you."

"Xavier?"

"Hmm?"

"I think I like you," I said. I must be going crazy, what am I thinking right now?

Xavier paused for a moment, staring at me with an expression I couldn't quite decipher.

"Don't you like Jake?"

"Yes, I like Jake. But I—" I couldn't tell him that what I felt for Jake was different. I'd been with him since I was little and I loved him so much.

"You're so complicated, aren't you?"

"Sorry—"

"You don't have to apologize! Every woman who sees me will say that. They'll choose me over their lover. You too, Layla! You're so easily tempted."
