Chapter 312: Extra Chapter 2 My Happy Life Continues
Extra Chapter 2 My Happy Life Continues
Federico's POV:
After our daughter was born, we moved into my apartment in Broadstone. It was bigger and had a better view.
Marta wasn't thrilled about it because she couldn't see her little niece every day. That was until I suggested she could be Nora's godmother. She was so excited she nearly fainted.
Yep, Nora was my daughter's name.
On weekends, we'd head back to The Caposta Manor together. Nora was the little princess of the house, and I wanted her to know her castle from a young age.
To spend more time with Nora, I always tried to get home early, making sure I was there before she fell asleep.
I loved dancing with her in the living room, listening to her giggle in my arms. I even sang while dancing, though Sarah said my singing was terrible and jealously mentioned that I had never danced with her.
I cherished putting her to bed, watching her eyes close, and kissing her rosy cheeks.
Six months later, Sarah went back to work. She was more composed and efficient than ever, managing several interns at once.
I made sure to thoroughly check the background of each intern, ensuring that nothing like the Stefano incident would ever happen again. She was an unstoppable super surgeon.
I worked almost every day from the top floor of the hospital. In my large office, I set up a children's play area, where our nanny often brought her to play. Nora had started crawling and loved treating my office as her adventure playground.
One time, I was having a serious meeting with some executives when Nora crawled to my feet. I picked her up and let her sit on my lap, letting her play with the important documents on my desk, big smiles on both of our faces.
The executives looked at me and the baby on my lap in disbelief, unsure how to continue their reports.
But gradually, they got used to it.
I heard they started calling Nora the Vice President behind my back.
Nora started talking.
I still remembered the day she suddenly said "Daddy" in the office. I was stunned. "Sweetie, what did you say? Say it again?"
She mumbled "Daddy" again. I picked her up, lifted her high, and spun her around in the air before rushing out of the office with her.
I went to the third-floor ward and found Sarah discussing a case with some doctors.
"Sarah! Listen, Nora spoke!"
Everyone looked at Nora in surprise.
Sarah put down her files and squeezed Nora's little hand. "Did you tell Daddy a secret? Say it again, Mommy wants to hear too."
She pouted her lips and said "Mommy." The doctors around us cheered excitedly.
"No, she said 'Daddy.' She said 'Daddy' first!" I was a bit annoyed and looked at Nora. "Say 'Daddy'!"
Sarah smiled and shrugged. "Looks like our daughter chose me."
The doctors chuckled softly.
I left, feeling a bit down, but as soon as we got into the elevator, Nora hugged my head and started saying, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy."
My heart melted, and all the embarrassment and frustration I felt in front of Sarah vanished instantly.
I kissed her cheek hard. "I knew it, Nora loves Daddy the most."
When Nora was a year and a half, Marta and Steve had a grand wedding. Nora was their flower girl. She wore a white lace dress with a golden crown, looking like a born princess. Yes, she was my most precious princess.
But Nora clearly didn't like the job. She frowned and pouted, unhappy that everyone else was sitting while she had to stand.
When the wedding march started, she wobbled in front of the bride, impatiently scattering flower petals. Finally, she saw Sarah and me sitting in the front row, ran over with her flower basket, and dumped all the petals on her mom's head. The whole place erupted in laughter.
It was a joyful wedding.
When Nora was almost two, my father passed away. He died peacefully, with a smile on his face. Maybe his soul had found redemption.
A few days later, I learned of Antonio's death. Carlo told me he died in a gang shootout in Italy.
"Are you sure it was him?"
Carlo nodded. "We did a DNA test. I also went to the local morgue. It was him."
I sighed silently. A brother who sold my private itinerary to my enemy must have really wanted me dead. I shouldn't feel pity for such a brother, but at that moment, I did feel a tinge of sadness.
That night, I told Sarah the news. She comforted me, stroking my hair. "It's all in the past."
Yes, I couldn't make up for past regrets, but I would seize future happiness.
"For Nora's second birthday, I want to throw a big party at The Caposta Manor."
Nora was born in the summer and loves playing in the water. This birthday party would let her have a blast in the pool.
"Oh, dear, you won't invite too many people, will you? You know, if there are too many unfamiliar faces, I get exhausted," Sarah said helplessly.
She still didn't like attending social events with me. Honestly, I didn't either. If I had a choice, I'd rather stay home with her and Nora.
"I haven't decided yet. After all, Nora is my only princess, and I want her to have the best."
"Only princess?" Sarah gave me a mysterious smile.
"Isn't she? No one else in this world can have my love, except you, of course." I kissed her lips.
She frowned slightly. "Are you sure? I'm afraid someone might get upset." She took my hand and gently placed it on her belly.
My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately sat up. "You mean—? Oh my God, is it true?"
I touched her belly.
She nodded, her eyes sparkling. "The blood test confirmed it today."
I hugged her excitedly. "I'm so happy!"
