Chapter 1042: Taking the Initiative to Hold Hands

When Vincent arrived, Tina was still in the operating room.

She had originally planned to get off work at five, but when she left the operating room, it was already past six.

Oh no, she had delayed so long.

Would Vincent's family have a bad impression of her?

She quickly changed her clothes, hastily tidied her hair, grabbed her bag, and walked out.

As soon as Tina reached the front desk, a young nurse called out to her with a sweet smile, "Dr. Ingram, in such a hurry, are you going to see your boyfriend?"

"What are you doing here?" Tina was a bit surprised.

The young nurse quickly replied with a smile, "How could I not know? Your boyfriend has been waiting for you here for over an hour."

"Dr. Ingram, you've got a boyfriend and didn't tell me. You have to treat us to a meal in a few days so we can celebrate with you."

Although it was fake, since her colleagues already knew, Tina could only nod with a stiff smile, "Okay. By the way, you said he has been waiting for me for over an hour. Where is he?"

The young nurse pointed, "A seriously injured patient was just brought to the hospital, and he went up to help. He should be here soon."

"Alright, I'll wait."

As soon as she finished speaking, Tina looked up and saw Vincent walking towards her with steady steps.

He was tall and outstanding, and his elegant yet strong demeanor made him even more impressive.

Every move he made exuded charm.

The dinner tonight was a family gathering, so Vincent had changed into more casual clothes.

Compared to formal wear, he looked less sharp but more charming, adding a touch of brilliance and gentleness to his overall appearance.

But no matter how he looked, she liked him.

Seeing Tina, Vincent immediately pushed open the transparent glass door and walked in, his voice gentle and without any impatience, "Are you done?"

"Yes!" Tina nodded, "Sorry, Vincent, the surgery was a bit complicated, so it took over an hour longer than expected. Thank you for waiting."

"No need to apologize. Your dedication to your work is something I completely understand. You don't need to worry about my mom either. I called them and told them to start dinner later, so you don't have to feel pressured."

"Okay, thank you, Vincent. Let's go then."

"Wait a minute." Vincent stopped her and took off his coat to put it on Tina.

He then said, "The weather was nice this morning, but now it's very windy and raining heavily. It's quite cold. You've been inside the hospital, so you probably didn't know it got colder."

"Put this on, don't catch a cold."

"Okay."

Tina nodded, gently pulling the coat tighter around her, feeling warm and happy.

His unique scent filled her senses.

Her heart started racing uncontrollably again.

Tina didn't suppress it this time. She smiled and gently held Vincent's fingers.

"Vincent, let's go!"

Afraid he might not like holding hands, Tina only hooked two of his fingers lightly.

This way, if he resisted, he could let go when they reached the parking lot.

To her surprise, a warm force suddenly enveloped her hand. Vincent turned his hand and held Tina's entire hand in his palm.

His hand was so warm.

"Vincent," Tina was a bit surprised.

"We are now dating."

Vincent's words explained everything.

Tina didn't say anything more, enjoying his hand-holding, leaning against him with a smile.

She looked like a young girl in love.

Her heart fluttered with joy.

The young nurse saw this and couldn't help but call out, "Dr. Ingram, goodbye! Enjoy your time together, and don't forget what you promised me!"

"What did you promise her?" Vincent couldn't help but ask.

Tina felt a bit embarrassed. Should she tell him?

After thinking for a moment, she decided to tell him.

"Vincent, now that you're here, everyone knows I have a boyfriend. When some of my colleagues got boyfriends, they treated everyone to a meal. So, they mean that it's our turn to treat them."

"I see." Vincent nodded.

But he didn't say anything more, and Tina didn't continue either.

Even though they knew their relationship was fake.

She couldn't help but feel a bit empty inside.

How great it would be if her relationship with Vincent were real.

How wonderful it would be if they could treat everyone to a meal as a real couple.

Meanwhile, at The Lucas Manor.

Alexis had been personally instructing everyone to prepare ingredients for a sumptuous dinner since two in the afternoon.

Not only that, but she also consulted Vincent about all the dishes and confirmed them based on Tina's preferences.

At this moment, Madison was sitting alone on the couch, legs crossed, leisurely eating fruit and watching TV.

Compared to Alexis's nervousness, she seemed very relaxed.

So, the next moment, Madison received a complaint from Alexis, "Look at you, what have you done to the living room? You're taking up the whole couch by yourself."

"If you want to lie down, go to your bed."

Madison was silent.

She felt very wronged. She hadn't done anything.

She had always been like this at home.

Tina hadn't even married into the family yet, and she was already being disliked.

If Tina married in, she would probably be even more disliked by her mom.

Comparing herself to others, she felt inferior.

Madison ate the last piece of fruit, got up, and prepared to go upstairs.

Alexis called out again, "Come back. I told you to lie down upstairs, and you went? Dinner is about to start, and your brother will bring Tina soon. How can you, as a sister, not be present?"

Madison was silent.

Great, now whatever she did was wrong.

"Dear mom, I'll tidy up the couch and then go upstairs to change into something appropriate to meet Tina. This outfit is tricky to choose. It needs to be formal but not overshadow Tina. I have to get it just right, no mistakes allowed."

Alexis was finally satisfied, "Then hurry up. They should be here soon."

Madison raised her head high, "Looks like I can't just sit around. It's time for me to find a boyfriend, too."

This was exactly what Alexis wanted to hear. "Then hurry up. When your brother brings in a son-in-law, I'll have him take care of you, too."

"Alright, who's afraid of whom?"

With that, Madison walked upstairs.

Ennifer walked over to Alexis and gently held her hand. "Mom, are you too nervous?"

"I've been waiting for this for so long, so many days and nights. There's finally hope this time. How can I not be nervous? Ennifer, if Vincent gets his act together, I can rest easy."
