Chapter 144: I Haven't Seen You

Dorian's thin lips pressed together slightly, his gaze sweeping over her with a hint of barely noticeable awkwardness, "It looks good, but it's not quite suitable for you."

He paused and added, "I'll have someone custom-make something better for you in the future." Images of Amelia in various exquisite dresses already flashed through his mind, and the inexplicable irritation in his heart dissipated a bit.

"No need." Amelia refused without a second thought, "This dress is very special to me!"

After all, it was personally made by Ronnie!

"Very special?" Dorian raised an eyebrow, catching the key words in her sentence, "What makes it special?"

Amelia felt nervous, almost letting something slip. She quickly made up an excuse, "It's the first piece of clothing you bought for me, of course it's special."

After speaking, she secretly observed Dorian's reaction.

Sure enough, Dorian fell for it. Although his face remained expressionless, a barely noticeable hint of pleasure flashed in his eyes. He cleared his throat to cover his emotions, "Since that's the case, you can keep wearing it for now."

The room fell silent, with only the faint ticking of the clock on the wall. Amelia suddenly realized a very practical problem: with her leg in a cast, she couldn't bathe herself.

She bit her lip, hesitating whether to ask Dorian for help. Before she could figure out how to phrase it, Dorian seemed to read her mind and said, "You're not very mobile, I'll help you bathe."

"No need!" Amelia instinctively refused, her cheeks flushing slightly. It was too embarrassing for a woman to ask a man for help with bathing.

"Don't be stubborn." Dorian's tone was firm and unquestionable as he walked straight to the bathroom and started running hot water.

Watching him busy himself, Amelia felt a mix of emotions. She knew Dorian was showing concern for her, but she still felt a bit uncomfortable.

"I can do it myself..." She tried to protest.

Before she could finish, Dorian interrupted her.

"Do what yourself? How can you manage like this?" Dorian's tone carried a hint of helplessness and determination. He wrung out a towel and tested the water temperature, "Don't move."

The warm towel landed on Amelia's shoulder, and she instinctively flinched. The moment Dorian's fingers touched her skin, a tingling sensation spread through her body like an electric current.

"Relax." Dorian's voice was low and magnetic, carrying a certain magic that made Amelia involuntarily follow his instructions.

Dorian's movements were gentle and meticulous, as if handling a precious treasure. He carefully wiped Amelia's body, from her shoulders to her arms, and then...

Amelia's breathing gradually became rapid, and her cheeks grew redder. She tightly closed her eyes, not daring to look at Dorian.

"You..." Amelia's voice was very soft, with a hint of trembling.

"What?" Dorian responded in a low voice, his gaze falling on her flushed earlobe, his eyes darkening.

"Can you..." Amelia bit her lip, ultimately unable to finish her sentence.

"Can I what?" Dorian teased her deliberately, his tone carrying a hint of amusement.

"Can you not look at me?" Amelia's voice was almost inaudible.

Dorian chuckled softly, "What haven't I seen?"

"You!" Amelia suddenly opened her eyes, glaring at Dorian, "You're a rogue!"

Dorian paused for a moment, then resumed his natural demeanor, "I'm not that desperate." He placed the towel on the rack and began rinsing Amelia's body.

The warm water flowed over Amelia's body, washing away her fatigue. She exhaled slowly, feeling completely relaxed.

After helping Amelia bathe, Dorian took a cold shower himself. When he came out, Amelia was already sitting on the bed wrapped in a towel, her hair still wet.

Dorian took the hairdryer, plugged it in, and started drying Amelia's hair. The warm air blowing on her scalp made her feel drowsy.

"Are you sleepy?" Dorian's voice was very soft, as if afraid of waking her.

Amelia nodded drowsily, letting Dorian handle her hair.

Seeing her obedient demeanor, Dorian's lips curved slightly. Only at times like this did she seem like a little girl in need of care.

After drying her hair, Amelia had already fallen completely asleep. Dorian gently placed her on the bed and covered her with the blanket. Then, he lay down beside her, holding her in his arms.

The room was very quiet, with only the sound of their even breathing.

Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor. Amelia slowly opened her eyes, her consciousness gradually returning. The space beside her was empty, the warmth of the bedding long gone. Dorian was already gone.

She propped herself up, still wrapped in the soft towel. A slight chill brushed her skin, and Amelia instinctively looked around.

"Amelia, you're awake!"

A clear voice came from the doorway. Amelia turned to see Bella standing there, with a small figure behind her—it was Rhys.

At that moment, the little guy was peeking into the room, his big eyes filled with curiosity.

"Bella, Rhys? What are you doing here?" Amelia was a bit surprised.

Bella walked into the room, placing the fruit basket she was carrying on the bedside table, "I heard from Uncle Dorian that you fractured a bone and are resting at home. Since it's the weekend, I brought Rhys to visit you."

Bella said, ruffling Rhys's hair, "Say hello."

"Hello, Ms. Boleyn!" Rhys called out crisply, his eyes sparkling.

Looking at the uncle and niece in front of her, Amelia felt a warm current in her heart.

Although Dorian was domineering, he was also considerate and attentive to her.

Bella sat down by the bed, asking with concern, "How are you feeling? Does it still hurt?"

Amelia shook her head gently, "Much better, thank you for coming to see me."

"No need to be so polite with us," Bella smiled, "By the way, Uncle Dorian said you're not very mobile right now, so he asked us to help take care of you."

"Take care of me?" Amelia was taken aback.

"Yes," Rhys chimed in, "Ms. Boleyn, you should move to The Talbot Villa! That way, you can continue tutoring me on weekends. I'm about to have my big exams!" Rhys said, looking at Amelia with anticipation.

Bella agreed, "Yes, Amelia, our villa has plenty of rooms and staff to take care of you. Plus, if you stay there, it will be convenient for you to tutor Rhys. It's a win-win!"

Amelia hadn't expected that when she married Dorian, she hadn't moved into The Talbot Villa, but now they were inviting her to move in.

"But?" Amelia was about to refuse when Rhys grabbed her hand, looking at her with pleading eyes, "Ms. Boleyn, please, I really need your help with my studies!"

Seeing Rhys's imploring eyes, Amelia's heart softened. She sighed, "Alright, I'll move in."

"Great!" Rhys cheered.

Watching the excited Rhys, Amelia sighed silently, her gaze falling on Snowy, who was wagging its tail on the balcony. "Can I bring Snowy with me?" she asked softly, pointing to the dog.

Bella looked at the lazy dog basking in the sun and smiled, "Of course, such a cute dog should definitely come along!"

Only then did Amelia feel relieved, a barely noticeable smile appearing on her lips.
