Chapter 21: Chapter Twenty One: The plan

Aria’s pov

Lucian has to pay for all of the damages he has caused me. When I got back from the restaurant after meeting Celeste I vowed to take my revenge on him. the people that he caused me troubles all of my life.

Yes, he might not be my father just as the anonymous person tipped me, but right now it didn’t even matter much to me if he was or not.  A man like him can never be my father or my lover. Anything that had to do with Lucian I didn’t want to be a part of.

I still anticipate knowing the anonymous person that tipped me off weeks back about my biological father, but something tells me it might just be someone trying to pull a stout on me. It might even be Camille herself who started all of this to begin with.

I needed  answers.  I am not so sure what to believe and I needed to protect myself if truly there was someone out there that knows so much about me, so I decided to start from the root of the problem- Camille.

I had too much evidence at hand to sit still. I lost my phone when I passed out and the only true evidence I have is what I heard and what I saw. It’s my word against theirs and I knew my words wouldn’t be enough and I will have to make a move

If I had told Celeste about all of this, I know it would be so much easier but I had to do this myself to make up for all of the troubles I have caused with my selfish desires.

I started by going to the hospital where I first saw Camille. I needed access to the VIP area which I can only get access to through Mrs Laurent.

I needed to act fast and plus, after the party I haven’t taken out time to visit her and thank her for her support and care.

Today was that day, she would be doing her weekly checkup today according to my finding, so I reached out to her that I was coming over to hers.

“It’s so good to see you my darling.” Mrs Laurent pulls me in for a hug.

“How are you putting up, and how is the little one doing?” She looked at my stomach.

“We are doing great.” I hugged her back as we both smiled from ear to ear. She is a comfort in a person. I totally love her energy.

“You didn’t forget about me right.” That was Demien, he  chipped in.

“ oh.. I’m so sorry I have.” Mrs Laurent said and we all laughed.

“Ok honey, I will have to leave you three for now.” Demien said, looking at his wristwatch. He knew he was going to be late for his meeting yet he still chose to drive me.

“Ok sweetheart.” I gave him a kiss on his cheek and he reciprocated by kissing me on my fore forehead before going down on his knees to kiss my stomach. I love when he does that, it makes me and my baby feel closer to him. Mrs Laurent smiled at the slight.

“And Aria.. he turned around once again as he was about to leave.

“Please be careful, call me if you need anything.” He added. He meant every word he said. I know he must be worried about me disappearing like the last time, but I assured him he has nothing to worry about. This time around I am going to be extra careful. I have a baby in my stomach to protect.

“I promise I will.” I sent him a small smile to ease his heart. He kissed me on my forehead again before he chose to leave but he was reluctant.

“Go on son, she is in good hands.” Mrs Laurent had to tell Demien, he wasn’t leaving.

“I know, I know.” He signed at her nagging and we all laughed but before leaving he cups my face into his hands.

“Call me if you need me.” He said this time his voice was lower and he kissed me on my forehead again severely before running off.

“Arh.. he is so dramatic.” I chuckled. This is nothing close to the love story I picture for myself. It's even way better. Demien has been very supportive. He is  just the perfect gentleman and I love his mom. I wished I grew up having a mother like her. But my mom abandoned me for years and came back from the dead, and yet again she has gone into thin air with no traces.

“Come on let go, I still have about an hour before going to the hospital.” Mrs Laurent tells me as we both stand outside watching Demien drive off.

“Yes, sure.” I sent her a small smile.

“I will tell you a little about my pregnancy journey over tea.” She added. With Mrs Laurent there was no dull moment. She always has something to talk or joke about and it’s a good thing that I am a good listener of course I was interested in her story. With that being said, we headed to the kitchen.

“Thank you Mrs Laurent, the tea tastes great.” I said after taking a sip.

“I’m glad you like it. Demien got it for me when he traveled for a business trip a few months ago.” She tells me.

“It would help your little one grow healthy and strong.” She added.

“You know when I was about your age I had my first child.” Her first child? Where could he or she be? I thought Demien was an only child.

“She was beautiful, smart, cheerful and playful. You remind me of her. From the very first day I saw you, I saw her eyes in yours.” She sipped from her cup of tea. I adjusted my sitting position. I was more than interested in her story.

“Her name was Elsa. I didn’t think I would have to give birth to another child after I had her. She was everything I needed in a child, but she was taken away from me.” I saw a glimpse of sadness in her eyes.

“When I was pregnant at first I was not  aware, I suddenly started having a very big appetite and  unlike every other woman, I didn’t get fat, my shape was intact and my stomach did not rise so much until I was about eight months pregnant.” She tells me.

“Elsa would move in my stomach and kick me at every opportunity she got. She would make me rush to the hospital sometimes at early hours or sometimes at late hours of the day making me think I was in labor.” Her lips lifted for a smile.

“She worried me a lot, but that was all part of the fun and journey of motherhood and I enjoyed every bit of it.” The satisfaction in her voice was evident.

“There is nothing like the first time, it’s different.  Trying to figure out what your unborn child wants or needs, talking to it and seeing how healthy it grows every month.” Our eyes met.

“You should talk to your little one. Trust me they listen no matter how small you think they are.” She gave me a piece of advice alongside her story.

It is an advise I would definitely take. I am grateful for her to be able to share her story with me even if it brings out a little sadness in her heart. To think of it, I have not actually given so much attention to my little one because I didn’t really know anything about exploring motherhood.

At that moment I promised to do right and do better by my little one. I want us to be best of friends when she finally comes into the world and I guess I should start building that bond with her from now on.

“When she was finally born it rained heavily that day. It was midnight and my husband drove us to the hospital in the middle of the storm. She came out beautifully and tears rolled down my cheeks when she was given to me. She was so beautiful. I was discharged in a few days and I was very excited to feel the warmth of my child.”

“We bonded so well, and she grew up beautifully, not until she was seven and got into an accident that took her away from me forever.” She gulped down the rest of her tea.

“ I was heartbroken and sad for over a year but I had to move on with my life. That was when I was blessed with my son Demien. He filled up the empty space in my heart and brought back joy on my face. And as for my daughter elea I forever hold her memories dearly in my heart.”  I was lost listening to her. I can imagine how she must have felt and my eyes tear up at the corner.

I didn’t know what to say so I just stood up and gave her a hug.

“I’m glad you are fine.” I whispered. I rubbed on my stomach. I am going to protect my child no matter what it takes.
