Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen: Related
Aria’s pov
Camille Prescott?
Lucian?
I couldn’t place my hands on it. What exactly is going on I thought to myself. I found a way to sneak by to my vip room without getting seen by Camille.
I tried not to make it my business. I tried not to think too much about it, but the more I tried the more the words kept ringing in my head.
“The whole world will find out about our little secret.”
“You know Lucian Blackwell doesn’t forgive.”
“What the fuck is going on.” I sighed heavily. I had to pour myself a cup of water to calm myself down.
The thought came into my head that I should monitor Camille and see if I can get any more information from her. I couldn’t hire a private investigator. I've learnt not to trust anyone. I can’t afford to get betrayed again. I knew whatever I was going to do I would have to do it myself.
I didn’t know if I was being paranoid or being too sensitive because it involved Lucian, but I was just too restless to sit back and pretend like I didn’t hear anything.
I kept peeping through the door to see if Camille would come out of the room she was in. I was eager to know what she was doing there but it took me a whole lot of patience to wait for the right time to act. Camille is one crazy dangerous smart bitch. There should be no room for mistakes from me.
She finally came out of the room. She put on her sunglasses and walked down to where the elevator was. I wasn’t too quick to follow her. I waited for the next elevator but before getting into the elevator I took a Quick Look at the person in that room.
It was a middle- aged man who didn't look familiar. I knew Camille’s parents not until she lost them. The man in the room was in a coma. I wondered what her connection to him was. I couldn't spend much time there so I wouldn’t lose her so I quickly memorized the room number and the patient records which I found on a desk close to his bed. His name is Patrick Harris. His name hit a note but I didn’t have too much time to think about it or figure out where I had seen that name before, I had to be on the move. I didn't want to lose Camille.
I made sure to enter the next elevator. I couldn’t tell which floor she must have gone to but I had to follow my instincts. It seemed like she was leaving anyway. I proceeded down to the last floor where the reception hall is. I could have missed her but I saw her. I was glad I didn’t miss Camille, I was going to take another step ahead when I bumped into nurse Sonya.
“Mrs Aria, is there anything you need?” She asked, confused. We both knew I was supposed to be resting in the room given to me.
“No, I'm fine, I just need to get something.” I rushed through my words as I looked over her head. I wanted to see where Camille was heading to.
“Oh I can get it for you.” Nurse Sonya was still talking but I had to cut her off.
“I’ll be back soon.” I said in a hurry and left. Luckily for me I was able to catch up with Camille as she was heading to the parking lot. I followed her carefully until she entered the back seat of black car.
I laid low. I try to hide myself as much as I can. I knew I would be tossed if I got caught so I was very silent and careful. I made my way through the cars in the parking lot until I went to the car she was in. I couldn't hear much.
“Silence him.” Those were her words. I definitely heard her say that to the next person.
She got out of the car and adjusted her dress. She picked up her phone and made a quick call.
“Meet me at the usual spot.” She was brief with her words and without waiting for a response from the other person she hung up. She proceeded to leave when my phone rang.
I gaps in fear. I quickly silenced the phone. But Camille is one sensitive bitch, she turned back immediately trying to listen carefully if she heard right.
I had to pray to everything I knew at that moment. I wasn’t scared of her but I didn’t want to get cut. I needed more information to put the piece together.
She took a few steps in my direction, I already made up my mind to reveal myself to her. I won’t let my dignity get stepped on. She was getting closer so I summoned courage to get to my feet but she stopped mid way.
“Mrs Camille.” I heard her name from a distance so I paused and so did Camille. . It was a nurse from the hospital.
“Mrs Camille you forgot this.” She handed Camille a little container of drugs.
“Hmm..” Camille cleared her throat.
“Thanks.” She said and quickly took the can of pills from the nurse and threw them into her bag. With that the nurse left.
Camille turned her head to the direction I was hiding and she took a quick look for a second before turning back to leave.
She entered into a car and drove off. My instincts still told me to follow her although I didn’t come with a car, I came with Mrs Laurent. I had to think fast so I took a cab instead.
“Please follow that car.” I instructed the cab driver when I got in. He stepped on his pebble since Camille was driving so fast. We didn’t want to lose her.
We kept following her and it seemed she went a little out of town to a deserted area until she finally stopped. She stopped at a warehouse that seemed to be abandoned. I wondered what she had to come this far for.
“Stop, stop here.” I told the cab driver. I didn’t want Camille to see the car. She was acting very carefully. I walked down the road and there was only one entrance into the building. I had to be very careful not to get seen. I managed to get to a good spot where I could hide and as well see and hear what was going on.
“Do you have my complete money?” The person Camille was standing with asked. The voice seemed familiar but I actually couldn’t see much from where I was. Camille was standing right in front of the person so it was hard for me to tell who it was.
“Ray ray ray.” She had a good laugh after calling him out severely. She took a step to the right and began walking around him in a circular way.
I got the opportunity to see who it was. I didn’t see his face earlier but I recognized the hoodie and sneakers. It was the guy from the hospital. The one Camille threw some cash at after he mentioned Lucian. I immediately brought out my phone to take pictures. I didn't know why I did it but something was definitely fishy.
“You should know better than to threaten me over some money.” She chuckled.
“We had our agreement which I have kept to so why have you chosen to be a pain in my ass.” She was still walking around him but he didn’t flinch.
“We can all be happy, you know.” She stopped. I started making a video after taking a few pictures.
“Yh we can be happy as long as you continue to settle with me.” The man in hoody said with a deep voice. He sounded scary but Camille didn’t flinch.
“That’s the price you have to pay when someone else does the dirty jobs for you.” He added his lips lifted for a smirk.
“I think I should count the favors.” He gave a devilish smile.
“I helped you put your husband in a coma just as you wanted.” He spilled out the beans.
What? I wonder what more secrets are yet to be said.
That man in the hospital is Camille’s husband? And she actually is the reason he is in that condition. The thought of it sent a shiver down my spine.
I could tell his name sounded familiar. Now I remember where I saw him. He was the owner of a tech company. Victor and I had attended a few of his events in the past. The pieces were finally kind of coming together.
Oh my goodness!. I said without the words coming out of my mouth I definitely knew something was wrong, good thing I decided to trust my instincts.
“I helped you spy on Aria Sinclair and Lucian Blackwell and I leaked their relationship to the public just as you wanted.” He continued and I tried to make sense of the words he just finished saying.
What?
Camille was behind all of this?
My lost relationship?
But why? We haven’t crossed paths in the past years ever since we graduated college.
What is this about? My head was going to explode thinking about it.
“I also..” he was about to say something and got stopped mid way he seemed to know a lot.
“Enough!” Camille yelled. Her voice echoed throughout the building.
“Don’t you dare think you can exploit money from me.” She brought out a gun out of nowhere. She was so quick I couldn't even tell where she brought her gun from.
The man in the hoodie acted fast as well. He was going to reach for something behind him almost like he was going to bring out a gun as well when Camille shot him on his shoulder. Both of his shoulders.
The gun shot echoed. I flinched and I almost screamed when I saw her shoot him. I almost hit something behind me but I had to keep it together. . I couldn’t afford to draw any attention to myself.
Oh my goodness. I panicked
What the fuck?
Why does she even have a gun?
And she knows how to use it? So many emotions rush through me all at once. The man in hoody was now lying on the ground in pain as he lost so much blood. Camille just stood there watching him suffering and screaming curses.
Almost immediately a car drove in. I was still in shock so I didn’t recognize the car immediately. That was the car from the hospital parking lot. Three men came down from the car and joined Camille.
“Take it, get rid of it.” She handed the gun over to one of the men. With her confidence anyone would tell it isn’t her first time shooting at someone.
“You know what to do with him.” She added the men nodded their heads in response and with that she left.
One of the men immediately shot the man in hoody three times, enough to make him lifeless. My hands were so shaky, I didn’t realize I wasn’t recording anymore. I was so unstable that I couldn’t hold onto my phone properly and I ended up falling the phone to the ground. It made so much noise.
“Who’s there?” The men questioned as they firmly held their guns.
My eyes widened in horror.
“I’m doomed.”
