Chapter 202 Cheater

Chapter 202 Cheater

Everyone looked on with envy as Brandon held Victoria's hand and they cut the cake together. She looked up and said, "Thank you all for coming. Let's all have some cake together."

But Brandon pulled her close and said, "This is for you. You go ahead and have some first."

His domineering manner made Victoria feel a little uneasy as she looked at him helplessly.

"Wow, does Brandon even see us anymore with Victoria around?"

"I guess this is just how much Brandon dotes on his wife..."

"Whoever said Brandon couldn't fall in love was talking nonsense."

"Victoria, go ahead and eat. We'll just eat dog food to fill ourselves up."

Everyone started joking around.

Nadia watched from afar, filled with jealousy. Who was Victoria to receive such special treatment from Brandon?

She turned to Mario and said, "Brother, Victoria isn't even as pretty as me. Yet they're praising her like she's a goddess. Aren't they?"

Mario was taken aback. Of course, for most people, they would believe their own sister to be the prettier one, regardless of whether it was true or not.

But the key was that Victoria was now also his sister, and the only girl that the Norris Family had been thinking about for so many years.

"This...," he hesitated, which made Nadia even more furious. "Brother, do you think she's prettier? You... hmph." She stormed off in anger.

Mario looked helpless. "No, it's not that."

However... she didn't know yet that Victoria was their sister, which was why she was targeting her. Once she found out, she would surely stop. Nadia was actually a kind and innocent girl.

Just then...

The cake was finished and everyone danced and drank to the music. Victoria looked at Brandon in surprise. "How did you prepare this for me?"

Brandon looked at her. "Victoria, do you regret marrying me?"

Victoria was stunned. Regret?

No, she didn't regret it. He brought color to her life. Without him, she might have starved to death on the streets or been sold to even more terrible people by the Griffin Family. She shook her head.

Brandon continued, "I haven't given you a wedding or anything else that a marriage should have. Even now, the Duncan Family has many misunderstandings about you. I'm just giving you a commemorative day. What's wrong with that?"

He looked at her and gently touched her cheek with his finger.

With a flutter in her heart, Victoria closed her eyes and leaned towards him. But just then, her phone rang. She looked at the number and her hand trembled involuntarily. It was the real estate agency.

"You should answer it," Brandon said. Victoria's eyes darted nervously, unsure whether to answer or not. Brandon's dangerous gaze narrowed.

"What's wrong? What did you do? Why are you afraid to answer the phone?"

"Nothing," Victoria didn't know how to explain. "It's probably just a nuisance call. Don't worry about it."

Brandon snatched the phone away. "Don't," Victoria quickly dodged, but in doing so, her phone fell to the ground.

As she listened to the almost urgent ringing, Victoria's heart sank little by little. Trembling, she tried to grab her phone, but Brandon was faster and picked it up. He answered it directly.

"Miss Griffin, I've found a property in San Francisco that meets all your requirements. It's perfect for you and your two children. When can we meet to discuss it?" The voice on the other end was from the real estate agency.

Brandon's grip on the phone tightened. Although he still stood there expressionless, he exuded a pure and beautiful aura. But his eyes made Victoria feel a bone-chilling coldness.

"Victoria, what is this? Are you buying a house in San Francisco?"

He held the phone up to her face. Victoria's eyes were filled with fear as she kept backing away. "No, it's not like that. I just wanted to buy a house in case of emergency..."

"Hmm... 'in case of emergency.' What emergency? This is a place that's suitable for you and your two children to live in, Victoria. You've been working so hard these days, always trying to please me. Is it because you want to take the children and leave me?"

"No, Brandon, that's not it. I want to stay... As long as you don't kick me out, I'm willing to stay. I'm just afraid that you might."

"Heh, if you really want to make me happy, and you're willing to take care of me and help me get better, then why would I kick you out?" He didn't wait for her to answer the phone, but instead smashed it on the ground.

Victoria didn't even look at the broken phone. "How do you know you'll never kick me out?"

"Enough, Victoria. You're a great actress. You shouldn't be an architect, you should be an actress. You would have been famous by now. I thought after today, you would change your mind and stop looking for a house, but you've already put down a deposit."

"I..."

"And why did you reject the Norris Family's cooperation proposal? I told you, if you worked with them, it would be a good thing for me. But you refused because you didn't want me to benefit. Is that right?"

He already knew everything...

Victoria didn't know what to say.

He grabbed her wrist and dragged her out. They made their way back to the villa and Victoria was pushed inside.

"Brandon... there's a reason why I did all of this..." Victoria bit her lip, but ultimately held back her words. "It's not what you think. I only want what's best for you, really."

"Is that so? Well then, starting today, you'll stay here. You'll never leave this place for the rest of your life. You'll treat me well in this villa and then maybe I'll believe you. How about that?" Brandon said.

Victoria stared at him, her eyes dull. "What are you saying..."

Brandon asked, "What, you don't want to?"

"Brandon, please don't do this. I'm really scared," she pleaded, gripping his wrist.

Brandon shuddered.

However, as he watched her tears fall, a line from a poem came to mind: crocodile tears. Yes, this woman's tears were poisonous and untrustworthy.

Just then, Elijah's voice came from outside. "Sir, they said there's something very important they need to tell you at the old mansion."

Brandon frowned. "I'm not going."

Elijah lowered his head and said something, causing Brandon's expression to change.

"Let's go," he suddenly changed his mind.
