Chapter 195: You are a member of the Norris Family
Victoria glanced at her and walked in. Grayson was eating. Seeing them come in, he said strangely, "Hey, I've seen you before."
"..."
It seemed that he really had amnesia.
Heidi said, "This is my friend. Don't you know her? She's Brandon's wife."
"When did Brandon get married... Isn't he supposed to be waiting for Ophelia?"
The name made Victoria raise her eyebrows in surprise.
Who is Ophelia?
Rebecca panicked first, "Grayson, shut up. What nonsense are you talking about? I think you really hit your head."
Heidi turned around and said, "He just woke up. Of course, he's not feeling well."
Rebecca glared at Heidi. The more she looked at her, the more she disliked her.
"Mind your own business. Do you think you're already the mistress of the Larson family? How dare you talk to me like that."
"Rebecca, I think you're going too far." Master Larson walked in and scolded her. He looked at Heidi and said, "Okay, you're tired. Let's go first. Miss Miller, thank you for taking care of Grayson."
"It's okay. It's good that he woke up."
Victoria could only walk out with them.
However, she couldn't stop thinking and waiting for the meaning of Ophelia. Madam Larson said on the side, "It's great that your brother woke up. To celebrate his miraculous recovery, I'm going to invite some people over." Rebecca's eyes lit up at the news. "Okay, I'll start making a guest list."
They were inviting people over so soon? Victoria had heard that Madam Larson was unreliable, but now she truly realized what that meant. However, she didn't want to get involved in their family affairs. She walked out, and Rebecca asked, "Mom, can I invite Brandon over?"
"He's married now. What's the point of always going after him?" Madam Larson replied.
"Brandon and Victoria had a fight. Don't you know?" Rebecca played with her hair. "Brandon has been impatient with her for a long time. He doesn't really love her. I still have a chance... Oh, and Mom, my brother has amnesia. Why do you still want Heidi to stay here?
You're not really considering her as a daughter-in-law, are you?"
Madam Larson was also troubled. "She's been taking care of us for so long. I can't just kick her out. Your father likes her too. I don't want to agree to such a small family like the Norris Family, especially since they ran away when they heard about your brother's accident. But, if we can marry into the Norris Family, we might be able to compete with the Duncan Family in the future."
Rebecca tried to persuade her, "I think this is a good opportunity. We should let my brother know that he and Nadia are meant to be together. It might work out. We shouldn't miss this chance."
Madam Larson was swayed by her daughter's words. Victoria walked out, but she was stopped by someone not far away.
Several people looked at Victoria.
"Is it Miss Griffin?"
Victoria was stunned, looking at these people feeling familiar. "You...you are from the Norris Family."
Were they coming to trouble her because she had disrupted their competition?
"Miss Griffin, President Norris wants to see you."
"Huh, President Norris is a big shot after all, he wouldn't hold a grudge over such small matters, right?" Victoria stepped back repeatedly.
"Miss Griffin, don't refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit." Several people approached her.
Victoria became even more worried. It seemed they weren't going to let her off...
At this moment, someone got out of the car behind them.
The person who got out of the car was Laura.
"Miss Griffin, I have something to tell you. I don't want to make things difficult for you. I hope Miss Griffin can come with me for a moment."
Victoria looked at Laura, who was speaking in a noticeably softer tone than before.
But these people from prominent families were probably very shrewd, and she had suffered a lot from them before.
Therefore, she was just standing there without moving. Laura noticed and said calmly, "Do you want to know why I always wanted to support Erica?"
"I am curious," Victoria replied, "but she has always been good at manipulating people, maybe she manipulated you too."
"No, it's because I thought her mother was Jordyn," Laura explained.
Victoria's heart skipped a beat.
"Now I know that you are Jordyn's biological daughter."
Victoria's mouth moved, and she finally took a step forward.
She arrived at the Norris Family and Laura continued, "Jordyn's original name was Jocelyn. She ran away from home because of a relationship problem and married someone she met outside, who is your biological father, Carson. I mistook someone else for her before, but now I know that you are my niece, the only flesh and blood left by my sister."
Victoria looked at her in surprise, but soon calmed down.
"Jocelyn..."
She suddenly thought that if her biological mother was from the Norris Family, it would make sense for her to know Brandon's mother.
"I have a question," Victoria said.
"What is it?"
"I have always been curious about my mother."
"You go ahead," Laura said patiently.
"My mother, Jordyn, no, Jocelyn, did she know Brandon's mother?" Victoria asked suddenly.
Laura was surprised but quickly nodded. "Yes, Brandon's mother, her name is Claire. She and your mother were best friends back then."
They really knew each other...
"What happened later?" Victoria's voice was hoarse.
"They went to school together, walked home together, until middle school. Your mother left with us to go abroad, and then at some point, they both fell in love with the same man. He was the man who made your mother cut off ties with her family and leave the Norris Family. They were both conflicted about their feelings and eventually became enemies and never saw each other again."
"The man...that man wasn't Brandon's father?"
"No, of course not."
Victoria thought of what Brandon had said about seeing a man with her mother. She took a deep breath and realized why things had happened the way they did. Her mother was trapped by love for a man who had killed Brandon's mother...causing her to die in front of him, sacrificing herself to save him from the fire.
