Chapter 321: Becca

Liam's POV

I can't believe that prick had the nerve to saunter around school like he's blameless and actually think people won't think he's in on something. He announced to the whole fucking school that there wasn't any proof that he did anything, so by default, that makes him blameless.

He's going to learn a hard lesson very soon, and I hope I'm there to see it happen. I want to see when he breaks. I want to see when he realizes he has to pay for ever shitty thing he's ever done in his whole life. All his so called 'friends' are going to turn on him at the drop of the hat. He is going to be lonely.

I've heard the rumors, and of course, no one has proof of anything, but they are all saying exactly what I plan to prove.

The fact he decided to start a fight, one on three just shows he's not thinking straight. He was nervous as hell, and I'm planning on using that to my advantage.

Obviously, I can't skip my classes just to follow the jerk around campus, as much as I'd love to. I still have a future after the bastard is put away for life.

It's a future I'm hoping like Hell Liv will be in. I didn't realize until now I've been building my dreams around her being with me, and without her there is just nothing. I'm not going to let that happen though. I'm going to get our happy ending.

"Hey, Liam," Becca sings, taking Liv's empty seat next to me. I don't know why she thought she could sit there just because Liv isn't here to occupy it today.

I freeze. I know she doesn't understand that it's causing me major anxiety, so I take a deep calming breath before I scream at one of my best friends. She really doesn't deserve it because I'm having a shitty few days.

"Bec, what's going on?" I ask, trying not to grind my teeth at one of my best friends. Actually, I'm not really sure when I talked to her last. I've been so busy with Liv, and then she was stolen from me, I haven't even noticed if she's around or not.

"I just wanted to see how you are doing. Ya know, since your girlfriend is currently MIA, I thought I could be a shoulder to cry on," she beams at me. "I'm here for you Liam. Whatever capacity you want me."

Something about the way she says that turns my stomach. Just what the hell is she suggesting? That now my girlfriend isn't right in front of my face, she can suddenly become my substitute?

"Becca, you know I love you as a good friend. And I hope we will always be good friends. But I don't need a shoulder to cry on because I'm getting her back," I huff in annoyance.

Does she think Olivia's gone for good? Is she trying to replace my girlfriend I only had a for a few hours at most? She couldn't be that selfish, could she? I've known her for years! Why can't she just support me in being happy with what I want?

God help her if she has anything to do with Olivia's disappearance. My mind is spinning at the possibilities of her coming in between me and Liv. She wouldn't stoop so low as go along with something this devious, would she?

Becca snorts and shakes her head. "Yeah, I know. But I'm here, Liam. Right here! Not off in some... La-la land. I can be what you want!" she insists.

I breathe. In. Out. In. Out. I can feel the headache starting at the base of my skull, fueled by pure rage. She doesn't Understand. She is just trying to be a good friend. She doesn't really want to push me away from my girlfriend...

I try to repress my rage simmering in my head, and I just can't.

"Becca! I know you are here. And the fact that Liv isn't is pissing me off. She is not gone because she's ditching class. She's gone because she was abducted by an asshole. And I know they are doing something to her. When I get her back, she will be sitting in that seat, just like she was always supposed to," I bite out through my teeth.

I don't know why the hell she looks hurt. I have never been anything but honest to her. I'm not doing this to hurt her, but I can't change how I feel. I've never loved her like I love Liv. And I know I never could!
