Chapter 9: Yours Is Fake

The scene fell into dead silence!

Everyone in the private room was stunned.

But a few seconds later, uproarious laughter erupted.

Tom laughed heartily.

Florence laughed heartily.

Cassie also laughed

Everyone had burst into laughter.

Only Lily, after being stunned, felt deeper disappointment.

Florence then shouted loudly, "You, can afford a Heart of Ocean worth 30 million? I think you slept on the street last night and didn't wake up properly. What kind of wishful thinking are you having? If you can afford a Heart of Ocean, I'll eat this table."

George calmly replied, "Mom, do not eat the table. Your teeth aren't good, you can't bite it."

Florence furiously retorted, "Who are you calling 'mom'? Who is your mother? Your mother is still lying in the hospital, half-dead! From today onwards, my only son-in-law is Tom, only he has the right to call me 'mom.' You, go ahead and divorce Lily this afternoon."

George's eyes narrowed, and he tightened his grip with all fingers.

"What? Are you angry? You useless waste dare to be angry with me. Do you even dare to hit me?" Florence patted her chest, "Come on, hit me here. If you dare to hit me once, I'll consider myself defeated!"

George didn't care about this shrew.

Instead, he looked at Lily and said, "Lily, as I mentioned before, I am no longer the person I used to be. I now have the ability to protect you and everyone around us. This Heart of Ocean in the box is the evidence! Starry Jewelry's Heart of Ocean, there is only one in the world, and it is the one I bought. The rest, they are all fake!"

"Furthermore, our wedding rings, I have redeemed them and they are also in this box."

As soon as he finished speaking, they heard Florence burst out laughing.

"Listen, Lily, listen carefully. What nonsense is he talking about? With his behavior, I think he's a complete lunatic, driven mad by stimulation! He even dares to defame Tom's Heart of Ocean as fake, while claiming his is real? I think everything about you is fake."

Tom said, "Exactly! George, you have truly amazed me. You are spewing lies with your eyes wide open. With my current status, would I need a fake necklace to deceive people? 30 million is nothing to me, just a drop in the bucket, but you? You went on your knees yesterday for 500 thousand, who would believe your words?"

George heard Tom actually calling Florence "mom."

He was left speechless.

He looked at Lily and said, "Lily, you don't believe me either?"

Lily had no choice but to doubt him.

She asked, "I only ask you, did you find a way to deal with the threat from the Fonda group? Did you accomplish it?"

George replied, "I've already arranged for someone to handle it. There should be news soon."

Tom sneered, "You think you can do anything? Do you even know anyone from the Fonda group? Even if you kneel at the entrance of the Fonda group for three days and nights, nobody would pay attention to you. You truly are like a toad yawning."

Lily sighed and said nothing more.

She knew she shouldn't have any hope for him anymore.

Just then, George's phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, it was the boss of Fonda Group, Marc.

He answered the phone.

Marc said on the other end of the line, "Sir, I have investigated the matter and found the person. Should I dispose of this scum by throwing him into the river?"

George felt delighted and glanced at Tom.

He remembered telling Lily yesterday that he would personally seek revenge for her.

He immediately responded, "Throwing him into the river would be too easy for him. I'll take care of him myself."

Marc said, "Alright. Where are you, sir? Shall I come pick you up?"

George replied, "No need for the trouble. I'll come over."

Marc said, "Alright. I'll be at The Gourmet Junction."

They hung up the phone.

George told Lily, "The situation has been resolved. Fonda Group won't threaten you anymore, and that Mr. Reeze, he has been found. If he dare have any bad intentions towards you, I'll personally seek revenge for you! I'll get rid of him!"

And then...

He suddenly became hungry.

He sat down and grabbed a chicken leg, devouring it eagerly.

Florence watched him eating like a starving ghost and looked disdainful, saying, "You can't even eat a meal in a civilized manner, yet you're still daydreaming!"

Lily didn't believe it either.

Seeing George boasting and fantasizing, she was truly distressed.

She stood up abruptly and splashed the drink in her cup onto his head, saying, "Please, snap out of it, okay? Stop dreaming! When will you stop messing around? Instead of wasting your time, why don't you go take care of your mother in the hospital?"

George swallowed the chicken, wiping his face.

"Lily, you must believe me. Just wait, you'll receive news soon!"

Confidently, he turned around and left.

Florence was furious, her chest heaving. She grabbed the jewelry box and threw it out towards the door, cursing, "You're truly insane! Take your damn box away. Who knows what shit you've put inside it, go away! If I had known you were such garbage, I would never have agreed to let you marry Lily."

"Crash!"

The jewelry box shattered upon impact.

The wedding ring and the Heart of the Ocean necklace all fell out and landed outside the door.

Florence paused for a moment.

She hadn't expected there to be something inside.

George picked up the wedding ring and was about to pick up the necklace when a woman picked it up first.

Looking up, it turned out to be the beautiful doctor, Vivian.

"Dr. Tudson, what are you doing here?" George was slightly surprised.

"I came to have dinner with a friend," she said, holding the Heart of the Ocean necklace and looking slightly astonished. She smiled and said, "Such a beautiful necklace. Take good care of it."

"Here you go."

"Is it beautiful?"

George forced a smile.

He spent thirty million on the necklace, only for it to be discarded like trash. "I'm giving it to you anyway, since everyone thinks it's fake."

With that, he left without looking back.

"Um—"

Vivian stared at the necklace in a daze, then glanced at the people in the private room.

She packed up the necklace and headed towards her own private room.

A fake necklace, well, she'll take it!

Florence sneered, "See that? He dared to give away something like that to a stranger and claimed it's the thirty-million-dollar Heart of Ocean. George should see who really possesses the true Heart of Ocean! Lily, you should thank Tom and put the gift away. It's a sign of his affection for you."

Lily, in a bad mood, shook her head. "It's too precious. I can't accept it without reason."

Florence took the necklace herself and said, "You silly child, fine. Let your mother keep it for you. When you marry Tom, you can wear it."

Just then, Johnson walked in.

"Lily, you ran off to this corner to eat, and it was so hard for me to find you!"

She had heard that Lily and George might be getting a divorce today, so she came to mediate.

She knew very well that behind George was the Fonda group.

He was a powerful figure!

If she could cling onto George's thigh, she wouldn't have to worry about the rest of her life...

However, for some reason, George wanted to keep his identity a secret. As a result, she couldn't expose his true identity and could only try to rescue him indirectly and come to mediate.

In reality, she really wished that she would be the one marrying George!

"Oh, this necklace..."

She suddenly noticed the necklace in Florence's hand. "Why does it look so similar to the Heart of Ocean?"

Florence proudly declared, "You're right, you didn't see wrong. This is the one and only Heart of Ocean, a symbol of love that Tom gave to Lily."

Johnson looked at the necklace, then at Tom.

Afterward, disdain filled her face as she said, "I think you've been duped by someone with ulterior motives. This is clearly not the Heart of Ocean but a counterfeit, it’s fake."

Tom stood up, his face darkening. "This is bullshit! What do you know about real and fake jewelry? This is an authentic Heart of Ocean."

Johnson sneered, "The real Heart of Ocean is the one sold directly to me. Do you think I don't know? This one is not a counterfeit!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the Willow family members all wore peculiar expressions.
