Kael's POV

I woke up from the disturbing silence around me. My mansion has never been silent like this before, and it was confusing. I open and look at the ceiling, making me realize that I'm inside my bedroom. I don't remember coming to my bedroom. Perhaps, Simon and the rest take me here while I'm unconscious.

I noticed the bandage in my side, causing me to touch it and remember everything that happened yesterday. Selena helped me, and she's the reason why I'm still alive right now. I owe her my life and she deserves the respect she has been craving for 17 years of being imprisoned in her father's basement. I move to the side and my feet touch the cold floor, after that I try to get up but immediately feel the faint pain in my wound.

My healing ability isn't recovered yet because I haven't recovered yet. I'm still weak, but it helps my wound heal faster. I take my robe and glance outside the window, noticing the uncanny peace at my people and territory. After that, I slowly approached the door and was about to open it when it offended me from outside. Selena and I startled each other, but she soon recovered and was inside.

“Where do you think you're going?” She questioned, tilting her head while crossing her arms.

I swallowed, “I just want to know if everyone was okay after what happened yesterday.”

“Simon was handling what you're supposed to do today, especially since you're still under recovery and I advise you to stay on when. You are not allowed to go anywhere or work in your state,” she said. Her voice has a hint of command, making me chuckle because she's like a boss.

She furrowed, “What's so funny?”

“Nothing. I'm just amazed at how you command me like a boss,” I explained.

“I'm not commanding you because I don't have the right to do that. Even though you accepted me as your mate, and announced me as your chosen Luna. It doesn't mean I have to act like that. I'm just warning you because I know you're stubborn, and will work even if you need to rest.”

I exhaled softly, “Because I can work. This is just a scratch, Selena. Now, would you stay out of my way and let me leave?”

“No,” he flatly refused.

“What? Why? I'm fine. You don't have to be worried, Selena. I'm okay. Look—ouch!” I groaned when I felt a pain from my wound after moving my waist to prove him fine.

“See? Go back to bed,” she pointed to the bed with a serious expression on her face.

I winced before returning to my bed. I leaned on the headboard as she checked my wound. I looked at her, loving her care and company. She was busy at my wound while I'm mesmerized by her beauty. Staying here make her hidden beauty return. Her skin become radiant, her face suddenly had a shape and her hair smell so nice. From being thin, she suddenly gained weight that fit her.

“You are healing fast, Kael. It means your healing ability is returning to its state, and that's good news.”

“Thank you, Selena…” I murmured.

She paused and glanced at me, “For what?”

“Thank you for saving me and giving me another life to prove how much I love you. If it wasn't for you, I'm definitely dead by now.”

She smiled, “It's not a big deal. You saved me and took me into your pack. You accepted me despite my flaws, and returned my confidence. I owe you everything, so you don't have to thank me.”

“I wanted to.”

Our eyes locked and my wolf stirred. She is my mate, even though there is a reason behind saving her from her father. Her beautiful brown eyes speaking to me, making me wolf howl in uneasiness. Soon, I move my head closer to her and our lips touch. I slide my hand to the back of her head, assisting her and she responds to my kisses.

I carried her to my lap, holding her waist as our kisses deepened. She wrapped her arms around my neck, locking our lips even closer. My wolf became intense, wanting more than kisses. I laid her to the bed without cutting our kisses, placing myself on top of Selena. We parted, stare at each other's eyes for a minute before returning to what we're doing. I slipped my kisses down to her neck, reaching her collarbone before sliding my hand under her shirt.

She moaned when my hand touched her breast, leaving me turned on. I remove her shirt, throwing it at the floor as we continue kissing. I showered her with kisses, sck her npples and she arched her back. I'm holding her other breast while scking like a baby, filling my room with her moans.

“Ohhh… Kael… Stop… you… you have to rest—oh my gosh!” She gasped as I sck harder.

“Kael…” she was trying to push me away but she was too carried by what I'm doing.

I'm the brick of ecstasy. Feeling the heat inside me, wanting to claim her right now. I want her body. She keeps moaning, whimpering in my name. As I was about to pull her short down, someone barged in.

“Kael!” Jessica's happy voice made me stop.

Selena immediately returned from reality, covering her chest with my blanket. I looked at Jessica indifferently, “Don't you know how to knock?”

“What is the meaning of this?” Her voice cracked.

“What? She's my mate. This is normal,” I answered.

Jessica swallowed, darting her fiery eyes on Selena. “You! You're a snake!” She hissed and attacked Selena, but I stopped her.

“Enough, Jessica! You are the one who came here unexpectedly and unannounced! Don't you dare hurt Selena!” I warned.

Her hands were trembling and she answered, “She's a snake, Kael! She saves you, so she can make it to your bed! She seduces you!”

“No, she's not! She is mine, Jessica.”

“How?! You didn't even mark her yet—” she paused as if realizing something. “You did mark her…”

“Leave, Jessica.”

“Why, Kael? Why?” She cried.

“Do I have to say it a thousand times, Jessica? She is my mate—my world and Luna. Now, leave!”

She glared sharply at Selena and vowed, “You. You steal him from me, Selena. But I'm not letting you become happy. Never!” After saying that, she marched out of my bedroom and shut the door violently.

I faced Selena and sighed, “I'm sorry.”

“There's no need to apologize, Kael. She was right. I took advantage of everything and—”

I kissed her to stop her from worrying. “No, you didn't. I love you, Selena. If I have to deal with Jessica everyday, I will for you.”

“Thank you, Kael.”

I caressed her cheek and responded, “Everything for my Luna.”
