Chapter 50: CHAPTER FIFTY

Damian's POV.

Getting up in the morning with the turns of events was like first lifting double your size off your chest and then carrying it across you shoulders while you did other stuff, the information I held back weighed more, I cleaned up, then walked to his room, passing the information a necessity as I stood by his door.

"Knock! Knock!" My knuckles rasped against his door, a bit of silence before he came to the door, must have open it a while as my thoughts ran amok.

"Hey, brother." I greeted, then whistled to the tune of "Hey brother." By the late Avicii, he let out a little smile.

"What's with you?" He asked after I was done.

"I'm good." I answered with a shrug of my shoulders.

"You came to see me this early, anything you want to tell me?" He asked again, looking at me as he asked.

"Yes." I answered, stopping just as I said it, deliberating if I should tell him about the pregnancy, but deciding against the worst of it not to tell him, "No, nothing exactly." I said, "Wanted to check up on you." I continued.

"When did you start checking up on me?" He said with a chuckle, I chuckled too.

"Since today." I replied.

"That's good," he said smiling, "anything else?" He asked.

"Nothing else." I answered, "I'll be taking my leave now." I continued, he nodded, closing shut his door, I turned away, my mind still troubled by the secret I held dear. I walked down to the gym, took off my clothes to put on workout clothes from my locker, I walked down to the boxing unit, gloves on my hands as I stared up at the punching bag.

"Why's life so?" I asked myself as I punched the bag, it swayed forward a little before I throw another punch, the image laying on the floor in prison, still on chains, each of the face of those I felt responsible appearing on the punching bag, I punched endlessly until the seam ripped with no face to throw a punch to, the increasing noise in the gym, an irritation.

"Stop!" I screamed, morphing my hands to a werewolf, I punched hard, tearing the punching bag from its hinges, it flew off, hitting some people working out, "Stop!" I screamed again, "Just shut the fuck up!" I cursed, ripping the closest dumbbell from where it was, I threw it to a source of noise, narrowly missing a potential victim as he ducked his head, "All of you should get of here." I said in an even tone, closing my eyes as their feets shuffled along, their murmurs fading with their receding footsteps until I was alone in the gym.

"Argh!!" I screamed out as I began to throw equipment around, tumbling chairs and weight holders, sat down in the middle of the overturned gym after all my anger was spent, "What do I do?" I asked myself, folding my head between my knees, sitting in the silence until voices came in, some setting back to good things in order, others taking the broken this out, I walk out from the midst of their bustle, cleaning up myself and appearing in a corporate shirt and plain trouser, a nice pair of sneakers to fit.

I walked into my room to find Anya had wasted herself, pouring whatever food she had put into her stomach, I helped her clean up, persuading her from seeing the doctor before she would find out. I sit on the bed beside her, her face pale from all the retching, I continue my musing, "Should tell or not to tell, if I tell her, I would have to tell Daemon, if not she would tell him, herself." my musing getting nowhere in particular, I sigh in spite of myself.

"Is anything wrong?" She asked on hearing me sigh, I nod my head negatively.

"Anything you would like to eat?" I counter ask her, hoping to throw her off my trail, she also nods negatively.

"I don't think I'm hungry." She answered, rubbing her stomach as she did so.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked her, she nodded, just in time for a knock to sound on the door.

"Who's there?" I called out.

"It's Alan." The voice answered.

"Who's Alan?" Anya asked.

"Well, it's a long story." I answered, scratching my head.

"Well, you can cut it short." She replied, raising herself up until she leaned to the headrest.

"He's my Beta." I answer outrightly, my fingers rummaging through my hair.

"I see." She replied, "Was it so hard now to spill it out?" She said, I nodded with a chuckle, "Does Damson have his?" She asked again.

"I don't know, he never really flaunted his, you know how he is." I said, standing up from the bed, "Come on in." I called to the person outside, he stepped in, his dark, curly hair sticking to his head, he was pale like a ghost, I didn't mind, Anya just whistled as he moved in, I chuckled as she did so.

"Anything for me?" I asked him after chuckling.

"Yes." He answered, "The elders have called for a meeting and are expecting you immediately." He continued, I nodded.

"Have they already sent it to Daemon?" I asked again, he nodded before he answered.

"The guard that had come here told me Master Daemon should already be on the way to the hall." He answered.

"I see." I replied.

"I already know what they would be discussing." Anya said, her voice saddened by the information.

"You can't be so sure they would be talking about you." I replied to her.

"What else would they be talking about except their most wanted traitor not found in her cell and must be returned?" She countered, sighing just as she finished.

"They have other pack duties to discuss about other than a sick person who the medical practitioners can just direct them to where she was." I said, trying to reassure her.

"It's fine, you can go to your meeting, I will he doing alright here." She replied, turning her face away from me. I held her face to mine, letting my lips curl upwards to a smile, she smiled too.

"Everything will be fine." I said and left her face, she nodded, I walked out of the room with my beta, Alan.

"Why did you lie to her?" He asked when we were out of possible earshot from her, "You knew it's going to be her they would be discussing about."

"Yeah, I do." I answered, my face as stern as possible, "Something just needs to be done, I don't know what it would be, but, it has to be done." I continued, my mind set on making sure she was never going back to prison, Alan nodded and followed me in silence until we got to the doors of the hall, I turned back to him.

"Go back to her, stay with her." I spoke to him on realizing Daemon's favorite bodyguard was already by the door."

"What about you?" He asked

"I'll be fine, just watch over her, be her shadow, no one has to see you, not even her." I ordered, I moved over to the door, pushing it wide open I stepped in, the elders not expecting me continuing in their little chit chat.

"It's time." I muttered to myself and walked over to where Daemon was, taking my seat.
