Chapter 27: Naina, forgive Mom and Dad!

"Just that..." my mother repeated. Her face was filled with curiosity, wanting to know what I was going to say next.

"Mom, my relationship with Redrick can no longer be sustained!" I said softly.

"Ouh! Y-you're right, Naina. Mom and Dad should not have forced you to do something you didn't want to. I was just afraid that you would make the wrong decision and ruin yourself. I know how much you love that man named Redrick, our family even depends on him. I... I'm sorry!" my mother said with deep regret.

There was a deep feeling in my heart, and I answered gently, "Don't apologize, Mom! You did nothing wrong."

My mother approached slowly and hugged me while crying. As I was embraced by my mother, I looked at Ray and smiled at him. Ray also smiled warmly at me. In my heart, I felt so grateful to him. If Ray hadn't been here at that moment, I don't know what would have happened to me.

Shortly after that, my father came in with the doctor to my room. I could also see regret and guilt on my father's face. When our eyes met, my father quickly averted his gaze. He didn't want to look at me because of the guilt he felt in his heart.

The doctor who arrived immediately examined me carefully. He checked my pulse, blood pressure, and performed some other tests to ensure that everything was going well.

After finishing the examination, the doctor looked at me with a relieved smile on his face. "Good news, Naina. The test results show that your condition is stable and you're doing fine," the doctor said softly, filled with relief.

The expressions on Ray's face and my parents immediately lit up with joy and relief. I was also extremely grateful that my condition turned out to be alright.

"Thank goodness!" Ray whispered softly, filling the room with a sense of relief as he smiled at me.

I returned his smile with a face full of gratitude and happiness.

"Thank you, Doctor," I said with sincere gratitude.

The doctor nodded kindly. "Make sure to get enough rest and follow the prescribed treatment instructions. That way, your recovery will go smoothly. If you have any concerns or further questions, don't hesitate to contact us."

I nodded attentively. I felt so grateful for the care I had received.

"Well then, I'll take my leave," the doctor said, leaving the room with a friendly smile.

"Thank you, doctor," my parents said as they approached and shook hands with the doctor, expressing their gratitude.

The doctor nodded with a gentle and warm smile as he walked out.

There, my father seemed hesitant to approach me. I looked at him and called him softly, "Dad," I said gently, urging him to come closer to me.

Slowly, my father approached me. With guilt evident in his eyes, my father said, "Naina, forgive me. It should have been me fighting, not you. Naina, I feel like a bad parent, I..."

My father couldn't continue his words. Even though tears were welling up in his eyes, he tried hard to hold back his cries, wanting to show that he was a strong father who didn't cry in front of me.

But in that moment, I could see the weight my father was carrying. The expression on his face depicted deep guilt and unspoken exhaustion. Despite his attempt to display strength, his inability to hold back tears revealed how sad his heart truly felt.

"Dad, don't say that. To me, you are the best parent. Don't apologize, Father. Naina knows that you did everything for her well-being. It is Naina who should apologize for making things difficult for you. Forgive Naina," I said sincerely, looking at my father with understanding.

At that moment, I saw Ray. He smiled as he looked at me and my family reunited. His smile was filled with happiness, as if to say that everything would be alright and a bright future awaited us.

A few moments later, the door to the room opened again, and in walked a nurse with a cheerful expression on her beautiful face. The nurse walked towards us with a playful stride, as if she were walking on a catwalk, while mysteriously winking at Ray. I watched the scene with a surprised look, and then my eyes shifted to Ray.

However, Ray paid no attention to the flirtatious expression of the beautiful nurse and remained focused on me. This made me slightly embarrassed and blush. "Do you really not notice the gaze of that beautiful nurse, Ray?" I wondered silently. For some reason, my heart felt happy because Ray wasn't a womanizer. And this man was going to be my husband.

Meanwhile, the beautiful nurse seemed captivated by Ray's presence. She kept staring at him without pause, and because her focus was solely on Ray, she nearly slipped. "Oh!" I saw the nurse almost falling and reflexively raised my hand, but then she managed to regain her balance. I was grateful that the nurse wasn't hurt.

With a sense of embarrassment, the nurse tried to smile and then approached me. "Good morning, Naina! How are you feeling today?" she said softly while looking at me attentively.

"Good morning! I feel better," I replied weakly, trying to smile at her.

"Are there any parts that still hurt?" she asked again.

"Well, my head hurts a little," I answered while holding my head.

"Oh, it's okay. It's a common occurrence for patients who have just regained consciousness, hmm." The nurse noted it professionally.

"Great, your condition is very good. For now, focus on getting enough rest, eating well, and following the prescribed treatment instructions. By doing this, you will recover quickly and be able to go home," the nurse said with sincere care.

"I will do that. Thank you for the care and attention," I said with genuine gratitude.

With her playful stride, the nurse walked away. Her eyes still fixed on Ray. It was as if it was difficult for her to divert her gaze from him.
