"I'm saying you hurt me, Simon, but I still love you." Her gaze was fixed on him for an extended period of time. "I have always loved you."

Simon locked his gaze on Scarlett for a few moments. He was still in a state of shock. Her words were direct, but he'd always known Scarlett to be this way. Very blunt. Her words sounded genuine, and he was relieved he hadn't ruined it for them both. He was relieved that she had returned to him. Simon couldn't stop smiling.

He wanted to scream and jump and shout at the top of his lungs, telling her how much he loved her, telling the world how much he loved Scarlett O'Hara, but instead he remained calm and smiled. He reached for her hands and patted them gently. "Really?" She looked so beautiful in her red hair. Just like the way Devil was attracted to her the first day he saw her, he is attracted to her more than ever now.

Scarlett nodded. "Yes. Really." She would have run into his arms and kissed him if Mace hadn't been there. Scarlett locked her gaze on Mace. "I think I should stay a little longer. Simon wouldn't mind." Her gaze was drawn back to Simon's. "Right?"

"Right," Simon said quickly and without hesitation.

Mace cast a quick glance at him. Simon made an effort to avoid Mace's gaze. Mace shook his head. Love had transformed this ruthless Alpha Simon into a very caring one.

He mindlinked Simon. "Seriously? See how you are smiling so obviously."

"And what's wrong with that? The most beautiful girl just confessed her love to me, and you expect me to frown?"

"At the very least, show some pride. She rejected you."

"She had her reasons, and it was all my fault."

"She kissed another boy."

"Don't remind me of that. It's something I wish I hadn't seen. It used to be his time, but now it's mine."

"She is Scarlett O'Hara. The same girl who doesn't commit to one man. The same girl who falls in love with a stranger..."

"Stop!" Simon frowned as his gaze met Mace's. He then stated it aloud. "Stop! Will you?"

Scarlett sensed the tension between them. It was unavoidable. "Perhaps I should go."

"No. Stay." Simon reached out for her hand. "I want you here." He smiled and looked at Mace. "As for Mace, he can come back later."

Mace scoffed. "I can't believe you right now."

"Well, you should. I would love to spend the entire day with Scarlett, and you are not needed." Simon walked Scarlett to the door, holding her hand.

Before entering, Scarlett mindlinked Mace. "I am deeply sorry. It was the only thing that came to mind."

"I'm glad he can smile again. Don't be concerned about the hunters or the secrets. I'll handle everything."

Then she'd have to believe everything he said. Simon will not be kind if those secrets are revealed.

Once inside, Simon turned to face Scarlett. "Would you like tea?"

Scarlett chuckled as she took her seat. "I am not a visitor, Mr. Alpha." Instead, she drew him to her and raised her head to look at him. She took a deep breath. Staring, staring, staring.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Simon laughed.

"Because you are beautiful, Mr. Alpha. You are really beautiful."

Simon knelt down to her level. "Then how about we have a baby if you find me this attractive?"

Scarlett's eyes widened. "I'm only 18 years old." She was in shock. But she would definitely want to have his children. Who wouldn't?

Simon let out a loud laugh. "It's a joke. Certainly not right now. You looked so shocked right now."

"I am shocked." She relaxed her face and smoothed it out. "I think I have a better idea."

"I am listening."

"How about I move in here?"

"What?"

"I have been thinking. I know it will be difficult to reconcile my two lives, but I believe I can do it."

"You will be exhausted. I don't want you to be exhausted."

"My mother is currently out of the country. She won't be around for a few weeks. I want to make the most of this opportunity. I'd like to be your Luna. You finally get to do a proper introduction to the entire pack."

Simon maintained his focus on her. He'd be thrilled if she stayed and performed her duties as Luna, but he wouldn't want to take away her human life either. "You are my Luna. You've always been and will always be my Luna, but what about school? You love school."

Scarlett cupped his face and nodded. "I did. I do, but I'm not interested in school anymore. I just want to be with you right now, Simon Martin."

Okay. Maybe they can talk about it later, but for now, he won't ruin these moments. "Then it is settled."

"What is?"

"I'd like to introduce you to the rest of the pack as my Luna."

Scarlett couldn't help but smile. "Okay. And when is that going to be?"

"How about tonight?" He stood up and carried her into his arms. "But first, I'd like to make love to you."

"That would be fantastic."

As he carried her into his room, he chuckled. Simon settled her onto his bed and looked at her with eyes she'd never seen him have before. It was serene and full of love. Perhaps he was telling the truth when he said he did all of that because he loved her. "You look so beautiful, Scarlett." He leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips.

Scarlett smiled between kisses as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Returning the kiss Her stomach was churning with butterflies, and she didn't want to let go of him. Let go of his mouth. Let go of his kiss.

He drank from her mouth as if it were a goblet of wine, engaging all of her senses at the same time. Scarlett swears she could feel her bones melting. She could kiss him forever and would have if he hadn't pulled away. She was ready to become his tonight and forever. With him, she was safe.
