Chapter 134 0134

Chapter 134 0134

The garden at Asher's house was decorated so beautifully that it looked almost unreal, like a scene pulled straight from a fairy tale. A long ivory aisle stretched elegantly through the center of the garden, bordered on both sides by rows of fresh white roses mixed with soft ivory flowers. Thin golden lanterns lined the pathway, casting a warm glow beneath the afternoon sky. White and blush-pink rose petals were scattered across the walkway, creating a breathtaking path toward the altar. On both sides of the aisle sat guests from different packs and kingdoms. Some wore elegant royal robes embroidered with wolf symbols, while others wore ceremonial armor decorated with silver and gold. Laughter, excitement, and the gentle sounds of drums and flutes filled the air. It was a day of celebration, a day everyone had waited for, and the entire atmosphere was overflowing with happiness and anticipation.

At the end of the aisle stood a magnificent altar, a large floral arch crafted from white roses, ivory peonies, and cascading greenery that hung gracefully like vines. Tiny crystal lights had been woven carefully throughout the flowers, making the entire arch sparkle beautifully. Standing beneath it was Asher, dressed in a black ceremonial outfit lined with silver fur around his shoulders, looking every bit like the Alpha King he was. Beside him stood Dax, proudly serving as his best man, while the priest stood nearby holding an ancient book in one hand and a sacred moonwood staff in the other.

Despite his calm appearance, Asher's heart was pounding wildly inside his chest. His eyes never left the entrance of the garden. Today was the day he would finally marry Mira. After everything they had endured. Soon she would officially become his Luna, and he could hardly contain his excitement.

Then suddenly, Asher saw her.

The moment Mira stepped into view, the entire world seemed to disappear around him. The sounds of music faded. The voices of the guests vanished. All he could see was her. She walked slowly down the aisle wearing a breathtaking red gown that flowed elegantly behind her with every step she took. A delicate veil covered her face, yet even through it, she looked more beautiful than words could ever describe. In one hand, she carried a single white flower, while her other hand rested gently on her brother Kael's arm as he escorted her toward the altar. The sunlight reflected against her gown, making her appear almost ethereal, as though the Moon Goddess herself had sent her down from the heavens.

Asher could barely breathe as he watched her approach. Countless emotions crashed into him all at once. This was the woman he had once foolishly rejected. The woman fate had brought back into his life when he least deserved a second chance. The woman who had become his greatest love. His chest tightened painfully as tears threatened to form in his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away. He wanted to remember every moment of this day clearly. Every step Mira took toward him felt like destiny finally rewarding them for everything they had suffered through together. His wolf, Ryn, was practically howling with happiness inside his mind.

As Mira walked beside Kael, her own emotions threatened to overwhelm her. Her heart beat so loudly she was convinced everyone around her could hear it. Through the veil, her eyes never left Asher for even a second. Never in her life had she imagined she would stand here today. There was once a time when she believed she would never have a future with him. Yet fate had proven stronger than pain, stronger than rejection, and stronger than every obstacle placed in their path. Her hands trembled slightly as tears gathered in her eyes, but she fought hard to keep them from falling. The way Asher looked at her made her cheeks flush beneath the veil. It was the look of a man completely and hopelessly in love.

As she continued walking, her gaze shifted briefly toward Zane, who stood proudly beside Kael's wife, Ivy. The little boy was smiling from ear to ear, clearly excited even if he did not fully understand the importance of the ceremony. Seeing her son so happy filled Mira's heart with warmth, and she smiled back at him before finally reaching the altar.

Kael stopped before Asher and looked at him carefully. A smile slowly appeared on his face. He was genuinely happy that Mira had finally found peace after everything she had endured. Though part of him still mourned Mila's death, he could not ignore the terrible choices his sister had made. Looking at Asher now, he could see the sincerity in his eyes. Gently, Kael placed Mira's hand into Asher's waiting hand.

"Take care of my sister," Kael said firmly. "And don't ever hurt her again."

Asher nodded immediately. His throat felt too tight to form proper words. He would never hurt Mira again. He would rather face death itself than allow harm to come to her. Slowly, he lifted her hand and pressed a gentle kiss against her knuckles before looking back into her eyes. Even through the veil, he could see her shy smile. It nearly stole the remaining air from his lungs.

Kael stepped aside and joined Ivy while the priest moved forward. Raising the sacred moonwood staff high into the air, the priest looked toward the gathered guests.

"Do you all accept this sacred union before the Moon Goddess and the kingdom?" he asked loudly.

"We do!" the crowd answered happily.

The priest smiled and turned back toward the couple.

But before he could continue, a cold voice suddenly echoed across the garden.

"No... I do not."

Instantly, every sound vanished.

A wave of shock swept through the gathering as hundreds of heads turned toward the entrance.

The moment everyone saw who stood there, terror spread across their faces.

Mila.

A collective gasp filled the garden.

Many guests stumbled backward. Several elders turned pale. Mothers quickly pulled their children close while warriors instinctively reached for their weapons.

Mila slowly walked toward the altar.

Her long black cloak dragged behind her like a shadow. The skin on her body appeared unnatural, pale and lifeless. Most horrifying of all were the empty sockets where her eyes should have been. Though there were no eyes left in her face, everyone could still somehow feel the hatred radiating from her. Dark energy swirled around her body like living smoke, poisoning the air with every step she took.

Mira's entire body froze.

Her veil slipped from her fingers and drifted to the ground.

She stared at Mila in complete disbelief.

Her sister was dead.

She had watched her die.

Her body buried deep inside the forbidden forest.

So how was she standing here?

How was this possible?

Fear gripped Mira's heart as her legs trembled beneath her. Beside her, she could feel Asher's body becoming tense with shock.

"Dearest sister," Mila said.

Her voice sent chills down everyone's spine.

The priest swallowed nervously and raised the sacred moonwood staff toward her.

"You do not belong here," he shouted. "You are dead. Return to where you came from."

Mila laughed.

The sound was horrifying.

Without warning, she lifted one rotten hand. Dark smoke exploded from her palm and wrapped around the priest's body.

The old man was instantly lifted into the air. The sacred moonwood staff flew from his hand as he desperately clawed at his throat, struggling to breathe.

"Stop!" Asher shouted. "Let him go!"

Mila slowly turned her head toward him.

A twisted smile appeared on her face.

Then she lowered her hand.

The priest crashed heavily onto the ground.

His body hit the earth with a sickening thud.

He never moved again.

Dead.

Screams erupted throughout the garden.

Guests began running in every direction.

Chaos exploded everywhere.

But Mila merely raised her hand once more.

A thick cloud of dark smoke burst outward, swallowing the entire wedding grounds.

People coughed violently.

One by one they collapsed.

Warriors.

Guests.

Elders.

Servants.

Everyone fell to the ground.

"Mila, stop!" Kael shouted as he held Ivy close.

But seconds later Ivy fell asleep in his arms.

Moments later Kael collapsed beside her.

All around the garden, bodies continued falling.

The powerful spell spread everywhere.

Mira suddenly felt Asher's grip weaken.

She turned just in time to catch him as he collapsed.

"Asher!" she cried.

She shook him again and again.

But his eyes remained closed.

He had fallen into the same deep sleep.

Tears streamed down Mira's face as she held him.

Then slowly, she lifted her head.

Her eyes searched through the garden.

"Zane!"

Her heart nearly stopped.

Then she saw him.

The little boy stood several feet away, completely unharmed.

Awake.
