Chapter 118 0118
Chapter 118 0118
A week later, Mila woke up very early in the morning before the sun had fully risen. The entire pack house was still quiet, with only the faint sound of birds outside breaking the silence.
Outside the mansion, a carriage was already waiting for her near the entrance of the pack house. The cold morning wind brushed against her skin as she walked toward it. The person sitting in front of the carriage, holding the reins, was Griffin. He lowered his head respectfully the moment he saw her approaching.
The truth was that two days ago, Griffin had secretly approached Mila when no one was watching and handed her a letter sent by Drevan. Griffin had already noticed the hatred Mila carried toward Mira and had immediately informed Drevan about it. Drevan, seeing it as the perfect opportunity, decided to use Mila for his own plans.
At first, Mila had been suspicious after reading the letter, but the moment she saw Drevan’s promise to help her get rid of Mira and Zane forever, excitement immediately filled her heart. She didn’t even hesitate before agreeing to meet him secretly. To Mila, anyone willing to destroy Mira and her son was automatically useful to her.
Mila stepped into the carriage, and Griffin immediately drove off. The carriage moved quickly through the silent roads of Silver Pack while Mila sat quietly inside, lost in her thoughts. Her fingers tightened slightly against her dress as images of Mira and Zane flashed through her mind. The more she thought about them, the angrier she became.
The carriage continued moving for a very long time until they finally reached a lonely road surrounded by bushes and tall trees. Griffin slowly stopped the carriage before quickly climbing down and opening the door for Mila.
Mila stepped out and immediately noticed another carriage parked not far away from them. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at it. A few seconds later, the carriage door opened, and Drevan stepped out slowly with a smirk resting on his lips.
“Luna Mila,” Drevan greeted politely while bowing his head slightly. His sharp eyes carefully studied her expression. He had traveled a long distance just for this meeting, and seeing her here already confirmed that his plan was working perfectly.
“What do you want from me?” Mila asked coldly, completely ignoring his greeting. Her voice carried impatience as she folded her arms across her chest. She clearly had no interest in exchanging unnecessary pleasantries.
Drevan chuckled lightly, amused by her attitude. “Straight to the point. I like that,” he said before continuing. “Mira is your sister, and Griffin informed me that.. ”
“Don’t call her my sister,” Mila cut him off immediately, her eyes darkening with anger. The hatred in her voice was impossible to hide.
Drevan paused slightly before nodding slowly. At that moment, he completely understood just how deep Mila’s hatred for Mira truly was, and honestly, he was pleased about it. It would make manipulating her far easier.
“I believe you read the letter I sent,” Drevan said calmly.
“If I didn’t, then why would I come all the way here?” Mila replied sharply.
Drevan smiled faintly before stepping closer to her. “Good. Then I’ll speak clearly. I want your help getting Zane.”
Mila’s expression remained calm, though curiosity flashed briefly in her eyes. “And how exactly do you expect me to do that?” she asked.
Drevan shrugged lightly. “You live in the same house as him. It should be easy for you.”
Mila stared at him silently for a moment before speaking again. “What are you planning to do with him?”
For a few seconds, Drevan remained quiet, then finally answered with a cold smile. “I’m going to kill him.”
The moment those words left his mouth, a smile immediately spread across Mila’s face. Happiness flashed through her eyes so quickly that she couldn’t even hide it.
“You’re sure?” she asked carefully. “You’ll really kill him?”
Drevan nodded once without hesitation. “I will.”
“Then deal,” Mila said immediately, clearly satisfied. Deep inside, relief washed over her. Killing Zane herself had become difficult. But now she had found someone else willing to do the dirty work for her.
“Deal,” Drevan replied while extending his hand toward her.
Mila shook his hand, sealing their agreement.
The two of them remained there for a while, discussing plans quietly while Griffin stood nearby. Eventually, Mila returned to her carriage and prepared to head back to Silver Pack before anyone noticed her absence for too long.
Drevan stood there watching the carriage disappear into the distance, and slowly, a dangerous smirk spread across his face. Mila truly believed he intended to help her keep Asher for herself, but the foolish woman had no idea she was only being used.
The truth was that Drevan never planned to spare anyone. Not Mira. Not Zane. Not even Asher.
Once he destroyed Asher and took control of Silver Pack, everyone there would become nothing more than servants beneath him… including Mila herself.
Thinking about how easily he had manipulated her made Drevan chuckle darkly to himself. Without another word, he turned around, entered his own carriage, and rode away.
Mira POV
I had just finished putting Zane down for his afternoon nap before quietly leaving his room. The little boy had fallen asleep almost immediately in my ar
Honestly, for the past few days, my mind had been a complete mess. Ever since Nora’s death, I had not been able to think properly. The image of her lifeless body lying inside that prison continued haunting me day and night. And the strangest part was that no one knew who killed her… or the guard that was found dead beside her.
The entire thing felt wrong.
Too wrong.
Part of me badly wanted to leave Silver Pack immediately with Zane and never look back, but Asher refused every single time I brought it up. In fact, he had gone as far as planning to announce our relationship publicly and tell the entire pack about his decision to marry me as his second wife.
Just thinking about it made my chest tighten.
I loved Asher. I truly did. But deep inside, I was still confused and scared. Too many things were happening too fast, and with Mila still around, nothing felt safe.
Letting out a tired sigh, I slowly walked outside the pack house, hoping the fresh air would calm my thoughts a little.
As I walked quietly through the pathway, my eyes suddenly landed on Griffin not too far away from me.
He was carrying a bag over his shoulder while walking quickly toward the pack gate like he was in a hurry to leave somewhere.
I frowned slightly.
Where was he going?
Maybe Asher had sent him on an errand, I thought to myself before looking away from him. But the moment I took another step forward, a sharp pain suddenly hit my head so hard that I almost lost my balance.
“Ahh…” I gasped softly, immediately closing my eyes as the headache intensified.
Then suddenly..
Images flashed through my mind.
I saw Griffin standing inside Shadowfang Pack wearing their guard uniform. I saw him speaking to Drevan.
My eyes flew open immediately as my heart skipped violently inside my chest.
Shock completely froze me where I stood.
“No way…” I whispered breathlessly.
That was why Griffin had looked familiar since the very first day I saw him. He was one of the guards from Shadowfang Pack.
How could I not recognize him earlier?
Fear instantly rushed through my body.
If Griffin was truly from Shadowfang Pack, then there was only one person who could have sent him here.
Drevan.
My breathing became uneven immediately.
“No…” I muttered, shaking my head in panic. “No, no, no…”
Without wasting another second, I immediately turned around and started running back toward the mansion as fast as my legs could carry me.
I needed to tell Asher immediately.
If Griffin was truly working for Drevan, then something terrible was definitely about to happen.
I ran through the hallways breathlessly until I finally reached Asher’s chamber. Without even bothering to knock, I pushed the door open and rushed inside.
Luckily, Asher was inside with Dax. The two of them were standing beside the table discussing something seriously before they both turned toward me in shock.
“Mira?” Asher called immediately as he stood up worriedly. “What happened?”
“I need to tell you something now,” I said breathlessly while trying to calm my racing heart.
Without wasting any time, I quickly explained everything to them, about Griffin, about Shadowfang Pack, and about Drevan possibly planting him inside Silver Pack as a spy.
The moment I finished speaking.
Asher’s face darkened immediately while Dax looked equally shocked.
Without hesitation, Asher turned sharply toward Dax. “Go get Griffin now.”
Dax nodded quickly before rushing out of the room.
The room fell into heavy silence after he left. My heart continued pounding painfully inside my chest while Asher paced around angrily. I could already tell he was furious with himself for allowing Griffin into the pack so easily.
Several long minutes later, Dax finally returned, breathing heavily.
“Asher…” he called seriously. “Griffin is gone.”
“What do you mean gone?” Asher asked coldly.
“We searched everywhere,” Dax explained quickly. “His belongings are no longer in the guards’ quarters. He already left the pack.”
“Damn it!” Asher cursed angrily while clenching his fists tightly.
“Send guards after him immediately,” he ordered furiously. “Search everywhere. I want him found and brought back alive.”
Dax nodded before rushing out again.
I stood there trembling badly as guilt slowly filled my chest.
If only I had recognized Griffin earlier… maybe none of this would have happened.
Then suddenly, something inside me snapped.
A terrible feeling washed over me so strongly that my entire body turned cold instantly.
Zane.
My eyes widened in horror.
“Zane!” I gasped loudly before immediately turning around and running out of the room.
“Mira!” Asher shouted before quickly running after me.
I ran through the hallways desperately toward Zane’s room, my heart beating painfully fast with every step. Fear completely consumed me as countless horrible thoughts flooded my mind.
Please let him still be there.
Please.
The moment I reached the room, I pushed the door open and rushed inside.
Only for my entire world to stop.
The bed was empty.
