Chapter 140: Chapter 141
"Well, too late, my dear; he has already found me, and as you are speaking right now, he's sitting next to me and smiling like someone who just won a trophy," Amelia said to Erica.
"What?" Erica asked with a surprised tone.

"You heard me right; he has already found me, and he's sitting beside me as we are talking now. Guess you were right when you said that it wouldn't take long before he finds me," Amelia said to Erica before turning and looking at Adrian, who was smiling while driving the car.
"I'm so sorry about this. I never meant for something like this to happen. If I had known earlier about the device, I would have surely informed you about it even before he finds you," Erica said to Amelia through the phone.
"It's okay, you don't have to apologise; it's not as if it was your fault. After all, you aren't a spirit, so there's no way you would have known about it," Amelia said to Erica.
"Well, that's also true, and also, since Adrian is beside you, please tell him that any day that we meet, I will surely sue him for invading my privacy," Erica said to Amelia, who turned and looked at Adrian with an icy glare.
"Also tell her on my behalf that on the day we meet, I won't sue her, but I will be arresting her myself for lying to me about not having your phone number," Adrian said to Amelia, who widened her eyes as she wasn't expecting Adrian to hear what she was discussing with Erica on the phone. Without hesitating, she quickly checked if she had activated the loudspeaker of her phone, but to her greatest surprise, it was switched off.
"Ooh my goodness, Amelia, has he been listening to what we have been saying all this while? Why didn't you tell me that your phone was on loudspeaker all this while?" Erica's panicked voice sounded through the phone.
"Well, that's because my phone wasn't on loudspeaker," Amelia said to Erica before glaring angrily at Adrian once again.
"Then how did he hear what I was saying?" Erica asked Amelia with a panicked tone.
"And who said that her phone has to be on loudspeaker before I hear what you are saying? Seems like you have forgotten that I'm an Alpha, and I have more advanced hearing, so even from where I'm sitting, I can hear your voice from the phone very loud and clear," Adrian said to Erica through the phone.
"Then pretend as if you didn't hear any of the things I have said. Amelia, goodbye, talk to you later," Erica said to Amelia before quickly hanging up the call, and with that, Adrian smiled while still focusing on the car's steering.
"Adrian, tell me, how were you able to find me just by listening to the conversation between me and Erica? As far as I can remember, I never once mentioned to her where I was in any of our phone calls," Amelia said to Adrian.
"Do you really want to know the answer to that question?" Adrian asked Amelia with furrowed brows.
"Yes, of course. Why would I ask you a question in the first place if I didn't want an answer?" Amelia asked Adrian.
"Well, I would have really loved to tell you, but I can't, because if I tell you now, and tomorrow you run away again, it will be more difficult to find you," Adrian said to Amelia.
"Please tell me; I won't run away again, I promise," Amelia said to Adrian with a pleading tone.
"Really?" Adrian asked her with furrowed brows.
"Yes, I promise I won't run away again; after all, I just arrived here, so I can't just leave like that," Amelia said to Adrian.
"Well, I will take your word for what it is, but believe me, if you run away again..." Adrian said to Amelia before pausing.
"Well, I prefer not to tell you what I will do when I find you," Adrian said to Amelia, who was still silently staring at him while waiting for him to tell her how he managed to find her.
"Well, the device I placed in Erica's car wasn't just an audio recording device; it was also a tracking device, so whenever Erica was discussing with you on the phone, we were able to track down where you were. It was a little bit difficult because we had to wait for only when she was discussing with you in the car, but after the long wait, we finally got your phone's signal, and that was how I succeeded in finding you. Guess patience always pays," Adrian said to Amelia as he pulled over in front of her apartment.
"So that means you didn't place any of the devices in Erica's house?" Amelia asked Adrian.
"No, of course, I was desperate to find you; that I must admit, but still there were some limits that I couldn't cross. Breaking into her house and placing a device in her house was invading her privacy; if I placed the device in her car, it was because I didn't have any other place to put it, and she spends a limited time in the car, unlike her house, where all her secrets are hidden," Adrian said to Amelia, who nodded in reply.
"Well, I'm happy to hear that. I will let her know about that when she calls again, and thanks for the ride, by the way. I appreciate it, even if I didn't want it in the first place," Amelia said to Adrian and made to get down from the car, but Adrian quickly grabbed her hand, holding her back.
"Please don't run away again. I know what I went through just to find you. I know you still have many doubts about me, and that's why you don't want to get back with me, but give me a little time; I will give you thousands of reasons to get back with me," Adrian said to Amelia, who stared at him for a little while before slowly pulling her hand away from his.
"Goodnight, Adrian," Amelia said to him before getting down from the car and making her way into her apartment, leaving behind Adrian, who was staring at her from his car.
