Chapter 38
The ringing of Lupa's cell phone cut off whatever it was that Selma was going to say next, but we never found out what it was. Leto and Louve were both forced to stand when he discovered that Leto was the one who had placed the call. "Give me a second. I'll get back to you in a moment." He gave her one more lick to his mark before releasing her, taking delight in the flush that emerged on her cheeks, and then he left the room to take the call in solitude. He gave her one more lick to his mark before releasing her.
Louve behaved as if Selma did not aim to kill her as she ate the last piece of bacon leaning against the counter and pretending as if Selma was not gazing at her with eyes filled with complete and utter hatred and clearly planning her murder. Selma was definitely scheming Louve's murder.
Even though it's only going to be for a little time, it makes me feel horrible that Lupa has to put up with you. Even though it's only going to be for a short while. Ziva, tell me honestly—what was he thinking when he decided to have sexual relations with a Louve?
We are all aware of the reasons why you would not have liked her regardless of who she was. You just would not have liked her.
Ziva, if what I've heard is accurate, then for the love of God she must be dormant. Come on! Oh my goodness, the woman's voice sounded almost identical to that of Brodie.
Louve let out a sigh. "You know, I really wish that people would stop acting like my delay is the second coming of Christ and talking about it like it is. This is definitely starting to get under my skin." I am not the only one who has the capacity for hidden shifts."
She gazed at her with pity, and Selma did the same thing at the other woman. You just have to come to terms with the fact that a latent simply isn't capable of taking on the duties of an Alpha Female.
If it were up to you, I have no doubt that you would perform a far better job.
"Well, yes, I most definitely would. Because of the manner that this species marries, even if this had been a real mating, it wouldn't have lasted very long due of the way that it mates. After Lupa and his wolf learned how fragile their mate is, their interest in you would have rapidly dwindled; once that occurred, you wouldn't have been on their radar for very long. Once that happened, their interest in you would have immediately decreased. They would have searched for a female wolf that could complement their skills and talents as well as provide a sense of balance to the pack. You could always find me hanging around anytime anything was going on because I was always there."
He was about to hang up the phone when all of a sudden, his ears were assaulted by the sound of a massive crash, which led him to mutter an expletive out of astonishment. After running into the kitchen at full speed, he stopped there in complete disbelief as he saw the spectacle that was unfolding in front of him. The trail of blood led investigators to the conclusion that Selma had struck her head against the wall, which was backed by the fact that she was laying on the ground in an incredibly ugly posture at the time. After getting up, everyone who had been sitting at the table stared at her with wide eyes. After they had all risen up, however, they continued to gaze at her. And Louve...well, she was leaning against the counter nonchalantly chewing on a piece of bacon as if there wasn't a person screaming out in agony and bleeding all over the floor.
He was curious about "what the heck had just taken place" and wanted to find the answer. As Louve gazed up at him, she did so with a facial expression that was unruffled by either excitement or nervousness.
"She fell to the ground."
As he turned his attention back to the table after being distracted by the sound of muffled laughter, Ziva, Grace, Lydia, Cam, and Rhett could be seen laughing so hard that they were shaking. Rhett was the only one who didn't seem to be laughing. In spite of the fact that the rest kept their silence, not a single one of them, not even Hope, was able to hide their delight by suppressing a grin.
Louve let out a sigh. "I feel that now is the moment for me to go for that run. The timing is finally right!" Grace, you are very kind; I really appreciate it; that breakfast was amazing. Following that, she walked by Selma as she was crying, and she paid no attention to her at all as she went on her way. "Lupa, if you don't keep talking like that, you're going to attract flies," the other person warned.
Lupa followed her out of the room as she hummed a tune that he was unfamiliar with. Despite the fact that he was still entirely confused, he also felt a little warm as a result of the alpha sensations that were vibrating around her.
Ziva said in a congratulatory manner, "Louve is one awful b*tch." As soon as Selma realized what Lupa was doing, she whimpered to her and said, "Look what she did to me!"
He was completely against it in every way. "Ziva, Tee, are you going to be there?" "Are you going to be there?" Grace and Aurae stood up from where they were sitting at the table and thanked him before exiting the room. After that, Aurae decided to accompany him. "So tell me, what precisely was the purpose of all of that?"
Ziva said, "It's simply Selma being obnoxious about how self-aware she is, as she usually is." You definitely should have been there to see Louve grabbing her by the throat and hurling her against the wall. It is just incredible.
Tala indicated their agreement with a hesitating nod, but in the end she did so. The woman's power is disproportionate to the size of her physique.
That, however, was something that Lupa already knew thanks to the battles that they had the previous night. He couldn't help but break into a smile whenever he considered the prospect of resuming hostilities with her later on this evening.
After going for a short run, Louve noticed that she was in a better mood overall. She felt revitalized and was able to keep her wolf under control as a result of the combination of the invigorating breeze on her face and the reassuring scents that emanated from the forest. When some time had passed, she eventually began to grow familiar with the intricate network of tunnels that would serve as her home for the next few months. These tunnels would serve as her home for a total of many months. When a period of time equaling three hours had elapsed, Louve could be seen gaping as she entered the living room.
After taking a tour of the region, it became clear that not a single one of its countless square inches could be characterized as being anything other than breathtaking. There were a total of four stories, and each one of them was outfitted with a compact kitchenette, a laundry room, a number of private bedrooms, and restrooms that were linked to them. On the fourth floor of the building, which was home to Lupa, Ziva, and the enforcers, there was a laundry room as well as a pool room, a game room, an office, a large and gorgeous kitchen, and a huge living area. All of these amenities could be found on the fourth floor. There was not a single occasion in which the space's mishmash of antique and modern furnishings was in any way incompatible with one another despite its eclectic aesthetic.
She could not help but be astounded, and she found something to make amazed exclamations over in each and every room. She could not help but be amazed. Notwithstanding that, this space...whoa. Even though the audio-visual system was state of the art, the colorful swirly carvings on the main wall were wonderful, and the several armchairs all looked comfortable enough to sleep on, the object that was in the center of the living space that had her attention was the object that was in the center of the living space. Is there a place to lay your head here? Is it a sofa or a couch? The monster looked more like a large pillow than anything else could have been imagined.
While she had a sectional sofa in the house she once lived in, it was in no way comparable to the one she currently has. The black leather upholstery, which was clearly of the best quality, provided sufficient space for at least eighteen people to sit in complete comfort. At one end was a beautiful chaise couch, and at the other end was a nice chair. Not only did her rear sink into it, but neither of her feet were able to make touch with the ground since it was so big and bulky. She was utterly obscured by the fact that it was there.
