Chapter 124: I Didn't Love Him
Therefore, unlike James who grew up to be a good performer, Bella's grades were not too good, yet her father didn't force her to learn this and that, but let her grow up in a relaxed environment.
But now, James didn't live a peaceful life, and was even looking for death time and time again in a desperate attempt, she thought, if her father was still around, she would never want him to live like this.
Thinking so, Bella quickly regained her senses, and with a hard heart, said.
"Brother, let ...... us forgive him."
"What did you say, Bella, say it again." James' eyes widened abruptly, thinking if Bella was stupid, "Forgive him? Did I wait all this time just to spare him, did I let ...... it go for nothing?"
"Brother!" Bella interrupted him heavily, crying with tears in her eyes, "Let bygones be bygones, Dad won't come back to life even if you kill him now."
"I can't do it! I can't do it!"
James seemed to be irritated by her words and clasped his head with both hands and screamed frantically, then raised the gun in his hand and aimed it at Mr. Dawson, "Think about it? I'll give you a final ten seconds, ten, nine, eight ......"
James gave the final countdown, the numbers in his mouth were advancing brutally, Mr. Dawson's heart had stuck in his throat, looking at the agonizing Vivian in front of him, closing his eyes as if escaping.
Knock Knock ......
At this moment, he could even feel his heart beating out of his chest, Mr. Dawson opened his eyes, and ultimately, he was ruthless, and his lips opened and closed for half a minute, "I'll go with V ......"
However, before the other V word was finished, a black shadow caught off guard and quickly ran to the edge of the rooftop, James suddenly lit up in front of his eyes, and after seeing the person who came, his face suddenly turned pale, "What are you doing?"
Bella stepped on the rooftop's protective wall with one foot, and beneath her was an abyss of ten thousand feet.
"Brother, you let them go and turn yourself in with the police, or I'll jump." Bella looked seriously into his eyes and said decisively.
This sudden action of hers completely disrupted James' thoughts, the man's mouth suddenly stopped chiming in, his voice shaking badly, "What are you going to do?"
"Brother, I don't want to be the sister of a murderer, instead of watching you get shot, I'm going to jump right now."
"No!"
As he watched Bella's other foot going up as well, James was suddenly distracted and at a loss for words, just then Ryan flew up and pinned the man who had been distracted for a moment, violently, and the pistol he held in his hand flew a long way away.
James was dead weighted down by Ryan, unable to move, when countless police officers suddenly poured over from the rooftop entrance.
"Hurry!"
Immediately, two police officers rushed over and began to study the bombs in Ava and Vivian's hands. Soon, after some careful investigation, the police's professional bomb disposal experts successfully dismantled the bombs in the hands of the two in three strokes.
Vivian cried out as soon as the bomb was removed, and Ava ran to Ryan's side as the police had already restrained James on his behalf.
"Ryan, you're hurt ......," Ava said, painfully looking at his still bleeding arm.
"I'm fine." Ryan shook his head with a grimace and gritted his teeth as he looked over at her and hastily asked, "Did you disarm the bomb?"
Ava nodded heavily, telling him not to worry.
James was handcuffed, two policemen escorted his shoulders, he was still struggling, his eyes filled with scarlet filled with unwillingness, just at the moment when the police were about to take him away, Mr. Dawson suddenly called out to them.
"Wait a minute."
The cadre of people's footsteps stopped for a moment, and James watched as Mr. Dawson stepped in front of him.
"I still want to say sorry about that incident ten years ago, I'm sorry, it was my fault."
Mr. Dawson didn't bother to look at him, but hung his head low, his tone didn't express any hatred towards the visitor, but rather it was permeated with deep regret.
At this, James hooked his lips but did not utter a word as the police quickly took him away, and on the verge of doing so, the man paused in his stride but turned his head halfway around.
His voice drifted over on the air, and caught Mr. Dawson unawares as he spoke, coldly.
"Spend the rest of your life atoning for your sins."
Mr. Dawson's back subconsciously stiffened.
After all this, Bella went crazy.
Shortly after returning, she had mental problems and was hospitalized, and on this day Ava came to see her, carrying a basket of fruit.
Bella was leaning against the bed, her eyes open, but her gaze was fixed on the pattern of stars on the ceiling, counting them one by one.
"You don't blame me, do you?"
Ava spoke to her, but she remained indifferent, as if nothing had anything to do with her. Before that, Ava had approached her and told her that if she was willing to help persuade James to turn himself in, she would hire the best lawyer for him and try to keep him alive.
But that day, Ryan took advantage of James' distraction to crush him, so James didn't really turn himself in, and even if Ryan hired the best lawyer for him, there was still a high chance that he would be sentenced to death.
Seeing that Bella looked like she wasn't going to pay any attention to her, Ava sighed silently and finally tucked her in, and was about to leave when Bella's voice suddenly rang out behind her.
"Ava," for a moment, Bella's voice was extraordinarily subdued.
Ava was on her feet when she heard her name and turned around, only to find Bella leaning against the bed, but her gaze was looking straight at her.
"Did you ever love him?"
Ava froze, a little overwhelmed by her unexplained comment, this he referred to?
"Did you ever love my brother?" Bella spoke up once more when she saw that she didn't understand what she meant.
Ava looked at her demeanor and didn't look like she was joking, instead she was conscious at the moment.
Indeed, the doctor had said that she occasionally returned to normal.
Ava thought for a moment, but didn't know how to answer, so she looked at her in reply.
"Are you better? I'll call the doctor ......"
"Is it hard to answer?"
Unexpectedly, Bella hooked the corners of her mouth, pulling out a complex look while interrupting her without mercy.
The air was quiet for a few seconds, Ava didn't say anything but couldn't help but sneer in her heart.
Nowadays, the only thing she had in her heart was his evil crimes, so how could she talk about anything else? She also didn't want to remember those dark past.
Ergo, Bella only saw the woman in front of her shaking her head decisively, and said, word for word, with a straight face.
"No, I didn't love him."
Ava then quickly walked out the door of the hospital room.
Bella leaned on the bed and looked at her departing back, the curvature of her lips gradually faded and was replaced with a hint of bitterness, muttering under her breath, saying.
"Brother, do you hear me, why are you doing this."
There are times when even a person himself does not know whether he has moved or not, but there are times when someone can always find the answer for him.
She was his sister, so how could she not know.
Ava walked out of the hospital room, feeling nothing but boredom, when Mr. Dawson called, asking her to come back for dinner tonight.
"Ava, you'll come, right?" On the other end of the phone, Mr. Dawson's voice seemed very pleading.
Ava's hand on the phone didn't move, for some reason she subconsciously didn't really want to go.
It wasn't as if she hadn't heard the "V" word that came out of Mr. Dawson's mouth when James gave him a final choice, only to be interrupted by Bella's sudden movement.
She understands Mr. Dawson's choice, but can't bring herself to care.
Ava thought about it and eventually agreed, arriving at the Dawson's house on time that night; thankfully, Vivian wasn't home, so the meal was a harmonious one, and afterward, Mr. Dawson sighed and told her, "Go see your mom."
Ava nodded her head, that was another purpose of her coming here today, to see Mrs. Dawson who was still lying unconscious in bed, no matter what others did, she believed that this kind woman was true to her.
