Chapter 793: New Rules, It’s Time for Her to Set Them
"Just admit it."
Emily released her leg, satisfied.
Simon's bodyguard immediately rushed over to help Simon up.
"Simon, how are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere? I'll take you to the hospital right now."
The bodyguard helped him sit down nearby while asking with concern.
Simon felt pain all over his body.
It hurt so much he barely wanted to speak. "It hurts. Quick, take me to the hospital."
"Yes, I'll take you right away." Having received the order, the bodyguard helped him up and prepared to leave.
This bodyguard was someone Simon's grandfather had assigned to protect him. If anything happened to Simon, he would face punishment too.
"Wait. You haven't taken your punishment yet. We agreed on taking something off, remember? Think you can just walk away?"
Emily blocked Simon's path, still not backing down.
"Get lost!"
Simon practically spat the words through clenched teeth, his eyes vicious as he glared at Emily.
When Emily had her foot on him earlier, he'd felt that if he didn't surrender, she really would kill him.
So he'd been scared.
But now, with his grandfather's trusted bodyguard and a group of security, he wasn't afraid.
Emily laughed.
So that's how he wanted to play?
Then she didn't need to be polite either.
"Just admitted you lost, and now you're denying it. Manager..."
"Emily, what can I do for you?"
The bar manager stepped forward with great enthusiasm.
Emily continued, "I just want to ask—the bar's security cameras aren't broken, right? Everything just now was recorded, right? If he won't honor his word, I need that video. Can you give it to me?"
Simon stood up shakily, leaning most of his weight on his bodyguard. His bloodshot eyes turned to the bar manager. "Manager, the cameras should be broken, right? Don't worry—I'll have my grandfather donate money to the bar later to get them fixed."
It was a veiled threat.
He was telling the manager not to get involved, to say the cameras were broken.
If the manager didn't answer Emily the way he wanted, the powerful family backing him would make sure this bar ceased to exist.
The manager glanced at Ace.
He understood immediately—Ace's silence meant he was still on Emily's side.
"Simon, I don't lie. The cameras are working just fine. As for the video..." He looked at Emily, not hesitating for a second. "The surveillance is intact. If you want the video, I'll have someone make a copy for you later."
He could have sent it directly to Emily right then.
But by saying he'd make a copy, he was signaling that he'd have backup copies—if Emily's disappeared, there would still be evidence here.
Emily gave him a grateful look, then turned to Simon with a mocking smile. "Hear that? So, are you really not going to do what I said?"
"What's wrong with you? Are you that desperate? You have to make Simon strip for you to watch? You're the real pervert here!"
The moment those words left his mouth, Kaia appeared in front of him with lightning speed, jumped up, and slapped him. "Watch your mouth! You think you can trash-talk Emily like that?"
"Who are you to hit me? I work for Simon. Do you think you can mess with Simon?"
The bodyguard hadn't expected some woman to appear out of nowhere and slap him, completely fearless.
Talk about ignorance being bliss.
By now, Simon's face still hurt, but he'd recovered enough to speak in complete sentences.
"Kaia, this doesn't concern you. The Harvey family behind you is powerful, sure, but the Long family isn't weak either. Are you certain you want to make the Harvey family and the Long family enemies over this? Think carefully—Gilbert is your only family now."
Simon rarely had the patience to say this much to anyone.
Kaia wasn't afraid.
But these past days, staying by Chase's side and watching how hard he worked for the Harvey family—she felt for him.
Especially since she'd begun to sense that Gilbert had something important he needed to do, something connected to their parents' deaths.
Emily wouldn't let Kaia be put in a difficult position, though.
She said to Kaia, "Kaia, come stand behind me. You don't need to argue with them."
Kaia was obedient this time. Seeing Emily's expression was calm, without a trace of nervousness or fear, she knew things would be fine. She quietly moved behind Emily.
Simon frowned.
Emily was just Otto's daughter—why did Kaia listen to her so readily?
Could she have some exceptional quality he didn't know about?
Of course, after today's stunt, he wouldn't actually admit Emily was impressive. It was just a fluke that she knew those moves.
Simon stared at Emily, his eyes dark. Clearly, he was holding a grudge.
"Emily, don't push it. Don't you want that contract? Forget the stripping—you've already beaten me this badly. I'll have someone follow up on the renewal, and I won't hold today against you. Quit while you're ahead!"
Even now, Simon's tone was patronizing, as if he were doing her a favor.
Emily laughed. "What if I insist on my demand today? Your bodyguard doesn't need to worry—I'm very precise. You definitely won't die, so no need to worry that following through on my request will kill you."
Seeing Emily's fearless attitude, Simon laughed bitterly in anger, then crooked his finger. The bodyguards behind him moved closer.
Then Simon looked at Emily with murderous intent. "You dare threaten me? Believe it or not, you won't walk out of this bar today. You're alone—no matter how good you are at fighting, my bodyguards are enough to take you down."
As he spoke, his expression became especially arrogant.
Emily smiled lightly.
She'd once rescued people from overseas—a few bodyguards didn't scare her.
Simon was underestimating her.
Before Emily could speak, Ace's expression had already changed. He gave the manager a look.
The manager caught it immediately.
He stepped forward at once, and the security guards beside him also moved forward.
Manager Zhang looked at Simon. "Simon, as a witness, I'm asking you to follow the rules. Also, since this happened in my bar, I naturally won't let you hurt anyone here."
Emily had noticed the manager's friendliness from the start.
But she hadn't expected him to actually stand up for her at this moment, even at the risk of offending Simon.
Simon studied the manager closely. "Are you sure about this? You really want to offend the Long family just to protect this Emily? Aren't you afraid I'll shut down your bar tomorrow?"
The manager remained composed. "Sorry, I'm just protecting my customer. Also, Simon, I'm afraid you can't shut us down tomorrow. If you don't believe me, feel free to try."
Bold words from a bar manager.
But his calm confidence made people doubt themselves.
Simon frowned.
He hesitated for a moment.
He couldn't help asking, "Who exactly is the owner behind you? To let you talk this big."
"If Simon can find out, by all means investigate!" the manager replied.
"You..."
That was basically no answer at all—it even felt like a challenge. Simon was naturally enraged.
His bodyguard beside him whispered a reminder: "Simon, stay calm. What if the bar's owner really is someone we can't afford to cross?"
Simon hadn't expected his bodyguard to be such a coward. He snapped, "Shut up! Are you saying I should actually strip for these people?"
Emily spoke again. "Simon, my patience is limited. Otherwise, tomorrow everyone will know the Long Group's CEO doesn't keep his word. When that happens, who knows how far the stock price will drop, how much you'll lose."
