Chapter 33 Do I want to know

When the door closed behind Brandon, I took the chance to look at my reflection in the mirror. It was just a small touch, it was a split of a second, but I didn't imagine it. We were wrapped up in a moment, once again and I don't know what to do. He acts all unaffected while I tried to make sense of it.

I placed a small amount of ointment on my lip, trying to ignore the idea of his lips against mine. I slipped on my t-shirt and went downstairs. I found Meredith and Brandon in the kitchen reheating our food. I left them and went over to the living room where my father was sitting comfortably in front of the T. v with Jonah on the opposite couch.

They looked up when they sense my presence. "What happened to you?" Jonah asked lifting an eyebrow. "Rolled around in the mud." I answered sarcastically. "And made out with the rocks?" He joined in with my sarcasm. "Yeah, I kind of forgot to take them out before I decided to roll." He chuckled and then returned his attention to the T. V.

Brandon and Meredith soon followed in behind, he handed me a plate of food and decided to sit down next to me on the couch. "So, am I going to have to call my lawyers before the police show up outside our door?" My father asked. "We didn't dump a body, dad." My father quirked an eyebrow at my sarcasm. "You want to tell me that you just left the body for someone else to bury?" I pulled my shoulders and trying to bite back on my smile. Meredith, on the other hand, didn't understand our sarcasm to well as she almost choked on her coffee.

"Do I even want to know what happened?" My father asked now with a serious look, the amusement gone.

"A guy from my old school giving me some problems and I didn't like what came out of his mouth. So, Brandon put the words right back in his mouth." My father looked surprised as he glances over to Brandon. "He almost doesn't have a scar on his face while you are covered with bruises." My dad pointed out.

"The guy was unfair as he sent his buddies to get Brandon by surprise, but they didn't figure that I too can throw a few punches." My dad just shook his head. "The first decent guy you meet and you pull him into your brawls." My dad drawled.

"I'm pretty sure that Brandon knew from the start." Brandon chuckled and stood up to take our plates to the kitchen. Meredith offered to help, but I held up my hand. "We'll clean up." I stood up and ignored her curious look by exiting the living room in a hurry.

"So, who is Dylan, and why the hell is he so mad at you for?" Brandon asked during washing the dishes. I was standing with my back to him washing the dishes while he stood behind me drying off the dishes and packing them away. "You are seriously not going to let me off the hook, eh?" I asked handing him a plate.

"Hey, I punched a guy for you and I got you injured, and your dad looks pretty serious like he wants to strangle me." I laughed. "My dad truly likes you and I think it's clear that his respect for you has increased."

"But, back to the topic. Dylan is that type of guy who can whoo himself into any girl's pants including mine." Brandon looked startled. "Wait. No, Adams! Here I thought you were an innocent girl who was immuned to guys like him."

"And, yet. Here you are." He looked offended. "I don't know what you are implying, but I'm not a Cassanova. I only had one girl in my life so far." He said. "Yet, she wasn't your best first choice." He narrowed his eyes. "Stop, turning the table, Adams." He grumbled.

"Fine." I answered with a sigh. "Let's just say that Dylan had his way of whooing me. I was fifteen-years-old and was in a bad place because of my mother and all. And, to me, it was the perfect way to get back at my dad as I was angry. Dylan was hosting a party and invited me over. Things got heated between us and he had me follow him upstairs to his room. Everyone knows what happens on the top floor where there are bedrooms." Brandon nodded, captivated in my story.

"We entered his bedroom and made out like two newlyweds. It was fun, hot, and crazy. My body loved the thrill, but as soon as his hand slipped underneath my shirt and slowly made its way to my breasts. I just couldn't continue. Reality hit me square in the heart. I was an immature girl who was about to give up her innocents to a guy who knew nothing of me. I was prepared to destroy my life and for what? And the thought of what my mother would think if she saw me, made me leave his bed with my innocence attached."

"So, you left him with unfulfilled desires?" I nodded. "Ah, he's mad because you made a fool of him."

"He went ahead and told everyone that I slept with him. I had no cover-up because there were people who saw me leave his room with a flushed face. He made my life a living hell. I was the joke of the school only until his next victim walked out of him too." Brandon chuckled. "Well, he deserved it. He sounds like a real jerk."

"That he is." Meredith walked in carrying cups, she stopped at the entrance watching us with a frown. "Am I interrupting again?" She asked. Brandon smiled at her. "Only an awkward conversation." She looked relieved and entered the kitchen. Brandon excused himself and headed back to the living room.

She placed the cups in the sink, I helped her dry them off after she washed them. "I'm sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to interrupt." She apologized. "Don't worry about it. I secretly wanted someone else to see if I wasn't dreaming." Meredith gave a nervous giggle. "It looked pretty real for me from where I was standing." I should have felt embarrassed, but surprisingly I wasn't.

"Is it weird that I'm confused about all of this?" I asked. "Not at all, your dad still leaves me tong tied at times." She said. "But, you probably don't want to hear about it."

"Brandon is the first guy who leaves me with these weird feelings." She smiled and handed me to cups of freshly made hot chocolate. "Love is experienced differently from person to person. But, when the right kind of love is expressed it leaves you with hope, warm fuzzy feelings, and befuddled." She explained everything I felt when I was with Brandon. "But, he hasn't admitted his love for me or mentioned that he likes me other than a friend."

"Guys needs a push from time to time. They pretend to be strong and tough, but when it comes to expressing love. They run."

"Brandon will come around." I nodded and then left the kitchen. I was surprised when I entered the living room. Brandon was lying sprawled out on my favorite couch while being captivated by an episode of Lucifer. He raised his head when I neared and held out his hot chocolate to him. He pushed himself up into a sitting position to accept his cup. I sat down next to him.

"A fan?" I asked motioning to the T. V. "You won't believe me, but this is my first time watching it." Jonah gasped making my father chuckle. "Sasha is obsessed with it."

"More likely the main character." My father mumbled.

"I downloaded all the seasons if you are interested." I offered. "Please don't punish yourself like that." Jonah said expressing his opinion. "No one asked you to be here and forces you to watch it." I told Jonah. "Whatever." Yeah, because he secretly likes it.

Brandon lied back down after finishing his hot chocolate and motioned for me to lie down with him which of course I accepted. I ignored my father's question look and got comfortable beside Brandon. He curled an arm around my waist, pulled me closer to him, and threw a blanket over us. I laid my head down on his arm and I sighed when he started running his hands through my hair.

"So, he's Lucifer. The devil and he owns a club?" Brandon asked amused. "You didn't take him to open a church, did you?" Brandon chuckled. "He was once an Angel. He might just think about turning Angel again." I shook my head as I smiled.

"It just shows you that a man with the blackest heart can also fall in love." I lifted my eyes and found my dad looking at us. He might keep a watchful eye over us, but Brandon could be trusted and I think he knew that. Brandon didn't make any move to touch me inappropriately.

Halfway in the episode, my eyelids started feeling heavy and soon I fell asleep safely tucked away in Brandon's embrace.
