Chapter 19

" Why do you have to go far away? Can I come with you?" Summer asked. I can't believe that she's still with this cheesy attitude of hers making her act as if I'm going forever or something.

" Stop being a dramatic Summer, I'm only going for a business trip so stop acting like I'm dying or something," I mocked.

She rolled her eyes at me and stood up to go run through my closet. "Have you decided on the clothes you're going to be packing?" She asked.

I looked at her with a confused expression on my face, wondering why she's asking that. " The trip is in two days, not today," I said.

She rolled her eyes at me. " You're never much fun, I think we should go shopping to select cool outfits for your outing," she implied at.

I didn't get why she was so young about the acting, making me suspect her attitude and definitely knowing that something was wrong with all this her attitude and severe niceness to shop for me– I don't mean that she would pay.

" I'm just going on a business trip, not my honeymoon," I joked. She laughed and stuck her hands into her pocket struggling to bring out whatever she had kept in there. It was kind of funny, I just couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter.

" What the heck are you looking for?" I asked, in the midst of my laughter.

She shot me a dead glare but was finally able to pull out what was stuck in her pockets. " Finally," she said in victory.

I was shocked by the sight of what u was seeing and couldn't help the fear that was gathering round my cheeks. " Is that a condom?" I asked.

She nodded in response and handed it to me but I didn't collect it. " Why would you give this to me? I'm going to Vietnam to work not to get laid," I rant, feeling very embarrassed.

She nodded in response and forcefully put it in my hand. " I know you're going there for work, I know you're a workaholic who doesn't know how to have fun but you never know what might happen plus your boss night has the hots for you so why not just get laid with him?"

I couldn't believe what was coming out of her mouth but was extremely disgusted by it. Justin was my half brother, it would be weird and definitely gross. I would make sure never ever to do it , that's incest but I can't tell her that.

" He's my boss," I say instead. " Things have to be professional between us and not you imagine me fucking my boss because I'm never doing that."

" You're such a mood killer here Drea," she said, " I'm trying to help you here and you're not the first person to fuck your boss. Don't you watch films or stories, it's not as if he's married or anything."

She was pushing it so hard but she can't understand that we can never have anything to do with each other. We're related and that would only be trouble.

" I'm sorry to disappoint you because none of that is going to happen so just erase it out of your fantasy," I said, getting off the bed.

" I'm going to cook, what do you want to eat?" I asked, changing the topic.

" Anything is fine as long as it doesn't have too much oil, butter or veggies, even chicken. I think I would prefer beef just like a little light dinner with no mustard. Try to avoid it because I'm trying to go on a diet."

I can't believe that she said all of that up acting like some kind of expert chef who's going to remember all that she just laid down but then again all I had to do was smile at her.

" Thanks for not being picky," I said, with sarcasm. " You're welcome." She yelled but I totally ignored it.

I walked up to the kitchen and that made us something light for dinner. We were both enjoying our meal until a knock was heard on the door, I wasn't expecting anyone and so waxed summer.

" Who could it be?" I asked her but she had no explanation for it.

" I'll go check," I got off the couch and went to attend to the person at the door. I opened it up only to discover that it was the waiter from the bar.

" Oh. Hi," I greeted, trying to hide my anxiety. I didn't know that he would suddenly show up at my door but how the hell did he even get to know where I live ?

" Hi," he greeted back, his hands tucked into his pockets.

I used that opportunity to check him out and discovered that he was actually not bad looking in fact he was good looking. He was dressed in oksi. Jean and blue shirt to match, his hair was styled perfectly. He looked like a real gentleman.

" What are you doing here?" I asked.

" I thought that we had a date today, you didn't pick up my calls but your address was on the card so I came here to see you myself," he said.

He was literally being so sweet right now but I had to tell him the truth. I knew I couldn't tell him that I using him to chase my ex away because I would look like a bad person then.

" Oh, I'm kind of busy right now and looking at my schedule I don't think I would have time for sky date or love in my life so just forget about it,* I told him.

He laughed a bit and I had to admit,he had one hell of a sexy laugh. " I know that you're the busy kind of girl but I don't mind even if it's just a coffee date. I'm up for anything."

He was being so polite and partially desperate but I didn't want to go and rather just stayed at home all curled up in my pajamas than going out with a guy I used to get rid of my ex.

The thought was killing and making me feel very bad because he seemed like a nice guy who just thought that he'd shot his shot and I was about to crush his dreams.

" I'm sorry, I didn't really put it in my mind. I had too much to drink that day and words just kept coming out plus I'm having a date with my work tonight so I'm really sorry," I made sure to decline it.

He didn't argue though and surprisingly enough he didn't even look angry but just nodded in response to me which made me want to reconsider the date.

" It's cool, I understand." He said and left.

I felt really bad the moment he left. I didn't mean to have to break his heart like that but I was just using him for my own benefits and it was nothing more than that.

I heaved a big sigh, trying to get rid of the guilt that enveloped me and just forget about it.

"Was that the cute waiter that you gave your card?" Summer asked and I nodded in response. " That's so cute, he came to see you? What happened? Why did he leave so soon?" She bombarded me with questions.

" I just don't feel like I'm ready to jump into another relationship, my past relationships weren't any good and right now I just need a really really long break."

She scoffed and made me sit beside me. " If you knew you didn't like him then why did you lead him on?" She asked, feeling annoyed.

" I … I just didn't want to see Jason so I used him as a distraction," I honestly said.
