Chapter 16

Thoughts wash through my mind as I reminisce over what happened and how Jason left without a word, without even making an effort to look back at me and I even doubt if he ever felt sorry for what he did to me.

I tried stopping myself. I didn't want to think about it but it was hard and the more I tried to comprehend it, the more it didn't make sense to me at all. I was still trying so hard to figure out why he would just break up with me.

We never had any fights, rather we were like a loving couple that everyone admired and loved but all of that was in the past and it was all a game to him from the start. I hated the fact that it was a game.

How could he have the guts to break up with me after a year? Did all we ever did mean nothing to him and it was just for fun?. It seems like it because he just told me himself.

He left without a word and now I'm tired of everything. I hate him, I hate him so much and literally want to have nothing to do with him plus it's not like I've even seen him. We haven't been in contact for the past few days and I think it's better that way.

I felt tempted to either call or text him many times but would immediately control myself from doing so. I couldn't let him know because it's all in the past and I should let it stay in the past because that's what it is.

The door snapped revealing summer. I immediately acted normal like I hadn't just been thinking so my ex a few seconds ago.

" Hey girlfriend," she greeted, coming over to my side with a small smile on her face.

" How're you? I made dinner, do you want some?" I asked. She shook her head in response and walked over to the couch then fell slowly on it acting like she was dead tired or something.

" Are you okay?" I asked, turning on the television.

She nodded in response and dragged me further to sit next to her. " What's wrong?" I asked, surprised by her sudden movement.

" Aren't you bored?" She suddenly asked me. It felt a little weird because I didn't expect that she was bored, rather she was acting like someone who had a bad day.

" I've been at home all day and I'm fine with it," I said, crushing whatever outings she had in her mind because it was easy to grasp that that was what she was up too

She groaned out of frustration. and just the way she was looking at me wasn't making things any better at all. " I know what you want and just so you know, i have no reason to go out so don't go counting on it."

She laughed a little then sat up straight looking at me. " You're literally a killer vibes like don't you ever want to have fun?" She asked.

I didn't like the way she was making it seem like I was in my sixties. Just because I'm a reporter does not mean that I don't like to go out and have a little bit of my type of fun rather than the way she was trying to bake me into an old woman.

" Where do you want us to go?" I finally asked.

" Yay!" She squealed in delight. I didn't even know how we got to be friends in the first place but as the saying goes: opposite attracts and it's kind of true in our case.

" Let's go," I said, getting off the couch but the look she gave me made me check myself to confirm if I was alright. " What's wrong?" I asked, not really pleased with the look she was giving me.

" Are you really going to wear that?" She asked and I nodded in response. " No, you're going to change right now or else you want to look like an old lady."

I rolled my eyes at her. She was so sophisticated sometimes and she's really annoying sometimes. " What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" I inquired.

" Girlfriend, you just broke up with Jason. The thing you need now is a good lay because no guy would want to fuck a girl that looks like she's in her forties," she mocked.

" You're so supportive," I said with sarcasm. She even had the guts to give me a smile, I rolled my eyes at her once again and ran up to change into something that more sophisticated for her daring aura.

" This look good?" I showed her my outfit.

" Stunning," she complimented.

We arrived at a bar and to be honest it's literally what I needed right now to get my mind off a lot of things and by a lot of things, I'm implying Jason. I just haven't been able to stop thinking about him and the more I thought about him—The more my heart felt that pain.

" This place is so classy," I said, admiring the decorations and techniques.

" I know, they just opened up last week," she said and called in a waiter.

" Good evening ladies," he greeted in such a polite manner.

" Evening," we replied at the same time.

" What would you two ladies like to have?" He asked.

" I would prefer tequila shots," I said.

" And you?" He turned to summer.

" Just give me whiskey," she ordered.

" I'll be back in a sec," he said, jotting it down.

" He's such a hottie," Summer said, immediately after he left. I can't believe she's eyeing a guy just a few minutes after we're here.

" Compose yourself summer and he would definitely think it's weird if he catches you," I said but she didn't seem to care.

" Loosen up Drea," she said, feeling irritated. " I know you're going through a shitty break up but that doesn't mean that you have to think about Jason all the time and the waiter was kind of checking you out."

I can't believe she literally had all the guts to say that but it was kind of true because I noticed but I'm not into anyone at the moment and right now I just want to be on my own. My gaze moved around the bar then I noticed Jason.

He was sitting down all alone checking his watch as if he was waiting for someone. His eyes moved to my direction and then our eyes met.

I tried so hard not to look into his eyes but it was hard because I've actually longed to see those beautiful eyes again. It took all of me not to go there and kick his ass.

He got off his chair and it looked like he was coming over to my side. The waiter came right at that moment to drop our drinks and I made my move

" Are you single?" I asked.

" Um…yeah, why asking?" He questioned me.

" That's such good news, I'm single too and was just hoping that we could hang out sometime," I said out loud, making Jason stop in his tracks.

" That sounds cool," he agreed.

" Great, here's my number," I handed him my card.

" Isn't that Jason?" Summer said, pointing her finger over to his side.

" Stop that, I don't want him to think I care,"

She stopped immediately. Jason walked back to his seat making me wonder what his real reason was for trying to come to my side. Was he jealous?

He couldn't be because he broke you with me and must be having a happy life. A lady suddenly entered but I didn't bother to look.

" Who's that?" Summer asked, pointing over to the girl that was with Jason. He held her tight and there were feather kisses.

" Kehlani?."
