Who the hell is this? I wondered, covering my chest with the blanket.
"How dare you cheat on me, stupid man?" She stormed towards us and started hitting her bag on Shane.
"You're in a relationship?" My voice croaked.
"No, Scarlett. I don't even know her." He said.
"How dare you deny me in my presence?" she continued hitting him with her bag.
My whole life had just been crushed over again. How could he just be making fake promises to me a while ago and destroy me again?
He rose to his feet and quickly slid his boxers on before grabbing her hand to stop him.
"Selena, what the heck is wrong with you?" He yelled at her while she panted, glaring at him so much.
I was frozen to the bed, why was my life always filled with doom? Why did the moon goddess hate me so much? What had I done to deserve such a terrible life?
"Scarlett, please let me explain. Don't see this in the wrong way." He said and she resumed hitting him with her back.
"Are you fucking stupid? How dare you go around fucking some ho instead of me?" She was literally barking and I didn't care that she just called me a white, my soul had shattered so much.
Selena kept yelling at him but my ears were completely blocked, my brain had gone numb, I couldn't hear anything they were saying as he was also yelling back at her with a frown.
He grabbed her arm and roughly pulled her out of the room while I broke down in tears.
My life is the worst. I'm such a foolish person. How could I have not bothered to ask about Ariella's Mom?
"I can never be loved." I sniffled and snapped back to my senses." Why the hell am I still here?" I got rid of the fluids leaking out of my nose with my palm and got into my clothes again and ran out of the room.
I bumped into Shane's hard chest on my way out and he grabbed my shoulders. "Scarlett, great thing I came back on time."
"Please let me go." I cried and tried to push him off but despite my strength, he still had a very firm grip on me.
"Don't let her get into your head. She's a psycho."
"She's your mate. Why'd you give me false hopes of being my mate when you already have one? Why was I so stupid to not even bother to ask about Ariella's Mom?" Tears trickled down my face again.
"She's not Ariella's Mom. Ariella's mother was my mate and she died when I was 18, just a few weeks after giving birth to Ariella. The woman that just came in is Selena and she's just really crazy about me. She thinks she'd be the perfect mother to Ariella since Ariella kind of likes her and she has always been acting this crazy and chasing anyone I try to have a new relationship with, just like what she's trying to do now."
"How am I supposed to trust you?" I screamed. "All men are annoying and no one can ever love me! I'm not destined to ever find love."
"Don't be ridiculous. I agreed that we can work this out. I'm a man of my words and this relationship has to work out because I've had feelings for you for a really long time now; I just didn't know how to express myself because, of course, you've always been the arrogant Beta and crazy about Keegan. I couldn't make an advance, and trying to help you get Keegan was a means to just spend time with you till you probably had Keegan.
"I definitely want you, I'll be able to love you and be your mate if you can just forget Keegan. We can sort this out and live our lives together in happiness and develop our whole story. Selena is useless, I've not had any relationship with her and if you want to, I can sure she's locked up for constantly harassing me. I can't let her ruin the relationship I've been longing for a couple of months now." His tone was so pure and gentle, not showing any sign of a lie.
My brain was reeling in different thoughts. I couldn't let this new opportunity slide like that and he sounded really genuine.
The silence between us was awkward, so he continued, "Ariella definitely likes you, she's always rambling about how amazing you are and how she'd like to be strong and confident like you, so my daughter's approval is not a problem, as long as you don't hate her and would love my daughter as much as I do, then there's no issue at all, we can build our relationship against all odds. Will you at least give me give us a chance?"
I had nothing to lose by agreeing. I was going to gain love from a man that could make me feel greater bond and attraction in the shortest time than any other man could make me feel. I could finally be happy and have a mate I wasn't begging to love me.
"Are you certain you're not lying to me that Selena means nothing to you?" My voice was very low.
"Of course. I swear on the moon goddess. Just give us a chance, will you?"
I nodded and he lowered his back to draw my lips into a kiss. His kiss got rid of any doubt I had and the electrocuting feeling it spread through was a great conviction to me and my wolf to go through with this.
Hopefully, we were going to end well and I could finally be happy with a man I liked and liked me back without treating me like trash.
\- KEEGAN -
"Keegan," Rylee walked into my bedroom, sniffling and rubbing my eyes with the back of her palms.
"What's wrong little princess?" I extended my arm for her to step into my hug and pulled her to my lap.
"I miss Jane again." She said in between her sobbing.
"She'll be back. Don't worry." I patted her back.
"When exactly would she be back? I know you're trying your best to keep me company but sometimes you get too busy and I just really miss her. I haven't seen her in almost a month now."
"I'll try to make her come soon, okay?"
"Do you promise?"
"Not exactly, but I'll try my best to. I also miss her too. She's my mate, so it feels like I'm dying to not have come in contact with her for over three weeks now."
I was so worried about Jane. There was still no news about a new attack from them and she hardly ever came online. I really hoped they hadn't gotten into her head again. I missed her more than I needed air to breathe and her scent still lurked around my room to make me yearn for her even more.
"I'll buy new toys for you or anything you want, just stop crying."
"Anything I want?" she grinned.
"Yes. Just head over to Diane and tell her to take you anywhere you need to be."
"Thank you!" she wiped her tears and jumped off my lap, running out of the room excitedly.
"Children." I chortled.
It was so easy for her to just forget about crying over Jane but I couldn't ever stop missing her, I just couldn't cry over her like Rylee, but I was internally dying. My joy was draining daily and I longed for her. I was trying my best not to be the usual grumpy Alpha for Rylee's sake, but I needed Jane's presence for my sanity.
I was trying to mind link her but as always, she was out of mind's reach. I sighed and dropped to the bed, contemplating on whether or not to text her.
"Gosh, my heart aches "I winced.
\- JANE -
My life felt crazy. I had been putting up with the fake act and assisting them with their next attack; what they were planning was so big that even scared me, I wondered how Keegan was going to
be able to handle it.
I hadn't had the time to head out to Keegan. I felt too stuck here and my body longed for him so much. I wanted to hear his voice again and let him shower me with kisses with his arms around me.
I spent enough time with grandmother, learning a lot of witch things like I had been doing, then went out for physical training till it was time for dinner.
"The day to finally conquer Keegan and Dark Stone pack once and for all is almost yet." Mom said, mid-meal. "Yes, and I'm so excited for it." Freya said.
"Me too. I can finally be mated with Jane." Darion winked and I had to smile to try to make sure I blushed. "Have this sweetheart." He decided to feed me for no good reason.
I didn't want a frown to form on my face so I extended my grin and accepted the food from him. "Perfect."
"Just like me, uh?"
"Definitely." I chuckled and his eyebrows dabbed with a one-sided smile.
Like I had been doing, I had to pretend to be attracted to Darion though I tried to keep it minimal to not feel like I was cheating on Keegan. Trust me, it was the most frustrating thing but I tried to convince myself that it was only for a while.
I wanted dinner to end quickly, I had to see Keegan today to tell him all about their plan and also spend quality time with him.
Dinner was finally over and I internally sighed with relief that I was going to get off Darion's annoying attempt at romance.
I made sure to confirm that everybody had gone to bed before I secured the door locked and snuck out through my room window.
When I got to the border and crossed over it, I switched to Vera and ran as fast as I could to Dark stone pack.
Since I was able to mind link again, I linked Keegan. 'Hey Kee, I'm in Dark Stone already.'
'Wow, really? That's so great. I've been expecting you all day! Head over to the cottage, I'll be there in a jiffy.'
Vera was really great at avoiding the guards till we got to the cottage.
I got in and switched back to my human form, throwing on a dress then sat on the bed, waiting for him while shaking my feet and constantly glancing at the door.
It took a while till he walked in with a smile on his face. I quickly rushed to me and pulled him into a kiss, wrapping my arm around his neck.
I enjoyed the bliss that came from the kiss, not wanting to let go, pouring out the passion from over a month. I had to tilt my head to deepen it, sliding my tongue into his. This time, I made sure to gain dominance of tongue, exploring the taste of his mouth as we drew each other's breath in, my hand was buried in the thickness of his hair. It was so great to finally experience real butterflies in my stomach.
I'd have certainly not stopped kissing him if the door didn't fling open and Rylee walked in, so we had to break the kiss. "Jane!" she hurried to me. I lifted her off her feet to pull her into a hug as she hugged me really tight, suffocating me.
"Too tight." I breathed out and she pulled away. "I'm sorry. I missed you so much. I can't believe I'm finally seeing you again." Her eyes welled up with tears and I had to walk with her to sit on the bed, sitting in front of her. "I missed you even more."
"She's always crying about missing you and never misses a chance to rub it in my face that she loves you more." Keegan said with a playful roll of his eyes.
I chuckled and glided my hand through her silky long ash brown hair. "I can see your hair still looks pretty healthy. Who takes care of it?"
"Diane. She's really sweet too and tries to make me happy. Do you know that I've started taking classes at home for now?" she stated with a proud grin while Keegan sat beside her.
"And she's doing really well. She's super smart."
"Aw, that's great! I knew you had great potential."
"Thank you so much for taking me in." She said and glanced at both of us. "You've both made me feel as much love as my parents would give me. I'm sure my Mummy and Daddy would be so glad that I found you."
"And we're also glad to have you. You're another ray of joy to me." Keegan said and pulled us into a joint hug. "I love both of you so much and can't wait to start a family with you in my life." The corner of my lips arched to a smile and a genuine blush filled my cheeks as he let go of us.
"I promise to make sure to cherish you like I'd cherish my parents. And when I finally become successful, I'll make sure to take care of you when you're old and love you. I'm so..." she trailed off and burst into tears.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Jane's here. Why are you still crying?"
"I'm just so really glad that I can finally have a future and not die as an omega. I can't wait for everything to be resolved in the pack so we can be united. I love you so much, it makes me feel like crying." She cried even more.
Keegan and I chuckled as we patted her back and raked her hair respectively.
"I'm also looking forward to it."
"Jane, we'll have to make sure that this attack is the last. We'll have to make sure to capture the Ardolfs and settle the misunderstanding once and for all." He said and I nodded in agreement.
"What's the update? I'll need a very detailed explanation." He rose to his feet and opened a drawer to take out a pen and a book out of it.
I explained the entire planned attack that my family members were planning while he began to write them down and also noting down wrote a few defensive tactics and solutions.
