Chapter 95 Chapter 95
LISA'S POV
In less than two hours, Duke returned to the office, holding a device. "Boss, the footage came back, we caught two of their plate numbers, and we have a location."
Damien's expression darkened, and he nodded. "Prep the boys, I want explosives, weapons, make sure this is brutal and a message is well sent."
I shivered from the sheer brutality of his expression. He looked alien, like a mask had been worn over the man who had clamed downand made love to me hours ago.
"Let me help." I offered. He looked at me, worn out already by my constant desire to disregard his decision on that matter.
"Sure, whatever. Suit up." He tossed a bulletproof vest at me and rolled a gun to me. My eyes widened, and I looked up at him.
"Come with me. This is going to be the fastest gun training in history. You should know how to aim properly for the head even when they are in a struggle." He said and took me into a hidden room within his office.
The room was not so big, but I could tell that it was a shooting range, and dummy targets had been set. They had bullet holes in them, and the walls of the room were soundproof.
He pulled a lever, and a fresh set of dummy targets came up. He pressed a button, and a part of the wall slid down, revealing a hidden safe installed in the wall. He unlocked it, and I saw stacks of cash and guns inside the safe.
Damien pulled out a small box and opened it, revealing gun shells inside it. Bullets, which he loaded into the gun and handed to me.
I looked at him, unsure of what to do with it, but he turned me gently to face the dummy in front of me, paces away from where I stood.
"Now, the first rule is stance," he pushed my leg apart slightly and held my waist as a lever. A short memory of what those hands had done to me earlier in the field flashed through my mind, and I shivered.
He looked at me, but I felt my face heat up, so I didn't look back. I cleared my throat and assumed my stance based on how his hands directed me.
"So, after that, you focus your mind on the gun,"
"What about the target?" I asked, confused.
"If you aren't aware of the device in your hand, then you will never be able to figure out how to get the target. You must be aware that you control the gun; it does not control you. So, when you aim, it goes where you want it to and not propel you forward on its own track."
"You must master its weight, balance it and set it to the exact point you want to ricochet that bullet towards."
I held the gun tightly, focusing on its weight, balance and proportion, and took in a deep breath.
"What next?" I asked, still holding my breath. His hand ran along my skin until it got to the point where my finger gripped the trigger. He pressed my hand to it and then leaned closer to my ear.
Every single movement felt sensuous, but I had to focus. His breath against my neck felt hot, sending a tingling sensation down my skin.
"The syndicate just captured Mia and Alexander's right-hand man, Ivan has a gun to her head, what are you going to do?" He asked.
I felt my heart start to race at the mere thought of it, and I felt blood rush to my brain, and in the heat of it, I pulled the trigger, knocking the dummy down just by aiming its head.
"Again," Damien ordered, pulling the lever, and I pulled the trigger again and hit the dummy in the chest.
"Good, one more," Damien said and pulled up a double target dummy. This one was holding the other captive, and I felt my breathing hasten. My heart beat erratically, and I was worried that with the limited time we had, I would not be able to nail the target. Until Damien stepped in front of my view.
"Someone has me in a chokehold, and they are about to slit my throat. What are you going to do as my only backup?" He asked, and I pulled up the gun, shaking as I took in a deep breath. I held the gun to his head, and then I aimed it to the side, targeting the other dummy.
And in one deep breath, I pulled the trigger, releasing the bullet. It slid past Damien's ear narrowly and clipped the dummy in the head.
I let out a gasp of disbelief, but Damien merely shrugged with a smile and walked towards me. He gave me a kiss on my forehead and handed me more bullets to load into the gun.
I did that, and I knew he trusted that I was ready. This would be my chance to prove to Damien once and for all that he could trust me.
With loaded weapons and explosives in the car, we headed for the location, which was a large factory building for artifacts, a couple of miles away from the main town.
"Listen, you take the front, and we'll take the back. Lisa, you stay at my side." He nodded to me, and I returned the gesture.
Bu the time we arrived, we were stopped by the security at the gate. We posed as clients bringing in new artifacts in boxes, and after assessing the artifacts, the security let us in.
We drove past the first round of buildings following the location trackers Duke had set on the cars that had abducted the men.
As soon as we got to the location, the cars were packed, so we got out. It was a large steam house.
We sneaked inside, going through the back while Duke and the others went through the front. A random worker approached us, but Damien kept walking towards him calmly, so I deduced he had expected it.
"Hey, you can't be here!" The young man said, pointing out the door, but before he got within five feet of us, Damien pulled out his gun and shot him in the head.
I froze.
