Chapter 31
It seemed June was right, maybe she was in love with Keir but did he feel the same way about her? How was she even going to go about the conversation?
"Did you guys fuck? Is that why we couldn't fuck today?"
"What? No! Why would you even feel that because of Atlas I wouldn't want to fuck you we only kissed okay and..." Octavia trailed placing her hand to her forehead realizing she had said too much.
What was it with her and saying too much lately? She felt Keir's hand leaving her waist slowly.
Was he mad at her?
Maybe this was a sign that he was in love with her, if he was jealous it showed that he cared, right?
"How was the kiss?" Keir asked leaning on the wall and staring at Octavia.
He was not pleased to hear that the lips he had just kissed now were in another man's mouth but he respected her choices. She was single and free to kiss whoever she wanted to kiss but why was he suddenly upset something like that?
It was just a kiss.
Octavia stared at Keir wishing she could read his facial expression, he looked like he didn't care, did he really not care if she kissed another man or if she was in the arms of another man?
"You seem unbothered that I kissed Atlas?"
"Watermelon you are free to kiss anyone you know that right?" Keir said.
He doesn’t care!?
“Yeah, what do you think about Atlas though? He is not so bad,” Octavia said trying to see if she was wrong, maybe Keir was just pretending not to care when truly he did but his facial expression didn't change instead he kissed her on the cheeks.
“Do you want to date him?”
“No, dating is certainly not for me.”
“Then marriage.”
“Ew,” Octavia rolled her eyes as Keir laughed. “Marriage is the last thing on my list, I am not ready to marry anyone right now. The whole idea of love still scares me.”
“Are you sleeping over?” Keir asked trying to change the conversation. He had a lot of work on his table to attend to that was why he wasn’t adding much pressure on the fact that she had wanted to pleasure him than allow him fuck her.
“Yes.”
“Alright, but I have some...”
“Take your time,” Octavia interrupted already knowing what he meant, she could just sleep on the couch and keep herself occupied with her phone.
Why did this moment feel like they were a couple?
“Thank you,” Keir appreciated kissing her on the lips.
NEXT DAY
~ RESTAURANT ~
“Keir isn’t interested in me,” Octavia said digging into her food as she stared at June who was also wasting no time in taking a spoonful of the bowl of soup in front of her.
“Did you ask him?”
“In his words, I am free to kiss whoever I want,” Octavia said rolling her eyes. How could Keir say something like that to her? Did he see her as a cheap slut that went around kissing whoever she came across? She felt offended by it yesterday but she had decided to overlook it.
“He is only being honest, you are just mad because you wanted him to be mad,” June pointed out. “You are such you weren’t like the crazy one in your past relationships,” June added laughing as Octavia spanked her on the shoulder.
“I was not,” Octavia grinned. “I don’t even know why I am getting mad at him, he just seemed unbothered by everything I said about Atlas.”
“I think you should just be direct about it,” June suggested.
“Like just tell him?”
“Why are you fighting this? “ June laughed noticing Octavia's repulsive look, it was obvious she was imagining herself telling Keir she loved him. It wasn’t so hard to tell a guy you loved him, the only downside was the part where he would reject you.
“I am not,” Octavia lied. It had been a long time since she had been in a relationship, She had told herself countless times that it would take a while before she got into any relationship but she never in a million years imagined it would be Keir.
There was nothing wrong with Keir, even if there was anything wrong with him, she had fallen in love with every part of him even his bad side.
She dropped her spoon as she covered her face embarrassed by her own thoughts, Keir was the perfect man for her. He had always been there for her over the years, even during her issues with her last boyfriend, he had protected her.
They were friends, best friends and if not putting titles they could be lovers because they were already doing things that lovers would do.
All that was left was the title to seal it off, they talked almost every day, they knew everything about each other, their likes and dislikes, they loved each other and not to forget how they enjoy fucking each other.
Even if Keir had not exactly said he enjoyed them fucking, he was always pleased whenever she was around him. How come it took her this long to figure it all out? What if June had never pointed it out?
Nah, even if June had not pointed it out, she was sure to figure it out the moment Atlas kissed her in the laundry. That moment was enough for her to know something was off.
“Are you okay?”
“I need to go,” Octavia said using the serviette to clean her mouth. June was right, she had to tell Keir, She had to be open with him about it and not just continue to assume what was on his mind. It didn’t necessarily mean that she had to tell him that she loved him but to express what was happening to her to him.
“To see Keir?” June asked just to be sure.
“Yes,” It was now or never. She was going to tell Keir how she felt about him.
