Chapter 91: Examination Result!

Garret nodded and smiled broadly, "Can Mama play with Garret after that?"

"Of course, sweetheart," said Lyyana, hugging Garret. "Shall we wake up papa first?" Garret nodded and gave Lyyana a quick peck on the cheek.

Lyyana then walked towards Petra's room, which was not far from Garret's room. She entered and found the room empty, but she heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. Lyyana moved towards Petra's wardrobe, preparing the clothes he would wear. Shortly after, Petra emerged from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his lower body.

"Good morning, love," greeted Petra, hugging Lyyana from behind.

"Good morning, love." Petra rested his chin on Lyyana's shoulder, briefly kissing her neck and inhaling the scent of the perfume Lyyana was wearing.

"Morning kiss?" Petra requested, turning Lyyana around, and without waiting for her answer, he gently kissed her pink lips.

Lyyana patted Petra's chest because he didn't immediately release his kiss, causing Lyyana to lose her breath. "Sorry," Petra said, rubbing the corner of Lyyana's lips.

Lyyana nodded, straightening her clothes and tidying up Petra's bed. "Shall I go down first?"

Petra shook his head, "Wait a moment, dear," he said, hastily putting on his clothes.

Lyyana smiled, then sat on the edge of the bed, watching Petra hastily buttoning his clothes until he missed a buttonhole. Lyyana laughed, stood up, and approached Petra. "Why rush?" she said, while fixing Petra's buttonhole.

They were already like a happily married couple, and Petra didn't mind Lyyana's actions. In the past, let alone touching skin to skin, Petra even always refused whenever Berli tried to touch his hand.

"Thank you, dear," Petra replied, kissing Lyyana's forehead and lips briefly.

Lyyana nodded, and she and Petra walked out of the room. Before leaving, they took the time to say goodbye to Garret, who was waiting in his room.

After bidding farewell to Garret, they hurried to the courtroom. The luxurious car drove away from Petra's house. Along the way, Lyyana remained silent until Petra touched her hand and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Last night, Berli sent me a message saying that she's currently pregnant with Denzel's child. And I'm afraid she'll be imprisoned. It's so pitiful to see her pregnant in jail," Lyyana explained, looking at Petra who was gently kissing the back of her hand.

Before they knew it, Petra's car had reached the courthouse parking lot, and he turned off the engine. "Let's go, dear," Petra invited after the car stopped in the courtyard of the courthouse.

Lyyana sighed deeply, then got out of the car with Petra. Their arrival coincided with Denzel and Berli walking from the opposite direction. They exchanged greetings briefly before walking towards the courtroom. Upon arriving at the courtroom lobby, several journalists, legal experts for each defendant and plaintiff, as well as security personnel, had gathered.

At exactly 10 o'clock, the first trial process began. The prosecutor began reading the indictment, followed by all the stages of the trial. Lyyana and Petra listened to every stage and the content of the indictment read by the prosecutor.

"To Ms. Berli, please step forward and sit in the defendant's chair." Berli took a deep breath, then walked forward and sat in the prepared chair. On her left were Jessica, Renaldi, and their own legal experts.

Two court attendants approached Berli and said, "Please follow my words." Berli nodded obediently, following the judge's instructions with a court attendant standing behind her.

Both legal counsel, the prosecutor, and the judge asked Berli many questions after she took her oath. Berli's confession, of course, weighed heavily against Jessica and Renaldi, who were the main perpetrators of the murder.

"At that time, I was in a threatened position. Mrs. Jessica trapped me and made it seem like I was on a blind date with her husband and ruined their marriage. She threatened to destroy my career and ruin me until there was nothing left. I panicked at that time, and because I didn't have a family and needed a job to survive, I was forced to obey her orders. The trial proceeded quite strenuously because Renaldi and Jessica did not admit their actions and accused Berli of defamation. The judge decided to adjourn the trial until an unspecified time.

During the trial recess, Denzel and his adoptive parents faithfully accompanied Berli and comforted the pregnant woman, giving her encouragement. Meanwhile, Lyyana accompanied Petra, who was still shocked by the evidence presented earlier. She never imagined that she had been monitored all this time, and indeed Renaldi had targeted Aura to marry her sister.

The verdict for Berli's trial resumed after a break of about two hours. The prosecutor read out the indictment again and called several witnesses.

"The next schedule is for the evidence and verdict for the defendants Renaldi and Jessica. The trial will be conducted as soon as possible, three days from today."

The judge then dismissed the trial participants. Berli walked with the assistance of Denzel, still unable to believe that she was free from the clutches of prison. Renaldi rushed towards Berli and almost pushed her if Denzel hadn't been able to hold Berli's body.
