Chapter 70

Zac

“Your doing it again,” chimes Sam as he continued to drive. My thoughts currently interrupted. My eyes quick to look.

“What?” I ask, suddenly unsure of what he meant. The drive towards my parents a little too quiet, even for me. Especially since I was still angry for what my mother had done.

“You’re doing that thing with your hands again,” replies Sam, his eyes still trained upon the road.

“What?” I ask again, clearly clueless. “What thing are you talking about?”

“Your need to fidget. You do it whenever your stressed.”

At the mention of that, do I suddenly blink. Unaware I even did. My eyes quick to look, only to see hands doing exactly that, my hand tapping along my leg. A growl quick to rise as I force myself to stop.

“Sorry.”

“Don’t be, we all have our ticks. I do the same thing,” admits Sam. A little surprised that Sam did it to. Hell, I’m surprised I did as well. But I supposed with how my mother behaved during her encounters with Alyssia that it’s no wonder I’m stressed. The past few months amazing when it was simply just her and I. But when adding my mother, you instantly got chaos.

My head just nodding. Unsure of what to say or do. Sam right about most things pertaining to us, but this was not something I wanted to think on. No. Not when all I wanted was her. My woman. My parents home soon coming into view.

The house big. But not as big as the one I currently owned. My house almost double if not triple the size of theirs and clearly it showed. Thankfully, neither of them knew or else they’d be trying to get my money. Money I didn’t plan on sharing with either of them.

My family anything but perfect. And my father’s need to control everything including my mother makes keeping my life a secret much easier. Sam quick to speak. “Any clue how you plan to address her? Your mom I mean?”

My eyes quick to spot his. A frown gracing my lips. “No. But I’m not fucking leaving until I get the answers I seek.”

Sam just nodding. Sam quick in approaching the house. Lights lighting the house which meant somebody was clearly home. The car soon parked before the two of us move to enter. The house quiet until the sound of voices reach my ear.

“I swear James, our son is nothing more than a lose cannon. The way he addresses me, his mother, is completely uncalled for and completely not him.”

“And your being dramatic. Our son knows better than to be rude.”

“But James. I know what I heard. He called that tramp of his, his girlfriend. She’s carrying his child. Not to mention, she’s way out of his league. If only he stayed with Kayla. She was such a sweet girl and totally made for him.”

“Yeah, except she’s completely lesbian mother,” I say, now announcing my presence to those within the room. My voice loud. My face full of rage and distaste as I stand listening to them talk about Alyssia and I.

My parents both quick to address me. “Oh Zac, your finally here. Didn’t think I’d see you after the little boutique incident,” chimes Samantha.

“Cut the crap mom. I know how you and dad operate. You act sweet, but the moment I let my guard down is the moment you pounce,” I counter. Not caring if I ruffled a few feathers.

“If you know then, why are you here? Shouldn’t you be off handling your own business and leave us alone?” asks James to me. My father and I not one to see eye to eye, least of all, relationships. My father holding different opinions than me in how a relationship was supposed to run.

“I will, once mother learns to butt out of my life. Her manners were completely uncalled for. She had no right to speak nor address Alyssia like that. She’s mine and very much pregnant with your grandchild.”

Mom just glaring while dad just frowns.

“And what’s your point? Are you expecting us to help raise your bastard child? To give you money to help raise it?” asks James, his face hard.

“What? No! Alyssia and I don’t need you or your fucking money. Nor do we want it. I’m only here to state the obvious. Touch my woman again and I swear upon my life they’ll be hell to pay. Harm my child and they’ll be worse situations than what I’ll do to you once finding out,” I say just as my phone suddenly rings.

The phone loud. My attention drawn to who was calling, only to freeze when noticing the name. Alyssia. Quick to panic, do I instantly answer. My voice steady, even though I felt anything but steady. My pulse racing at all things that could be happening.

“Baby?”

“Zac? Oh god.. daddy, I need you… Please.. I’m scared.”

At the mention of that do I suddenly shift gear. My attention fully on her. “Scared? Baby, what’s happening? Where’s Annabel? Where’s Mia?”

Sam clearly worried as well. “Baby?”

“We got separated. We were finishing up lunch when it happened. These strange men all showing up. Each one dressed in black. God… I’m so scared daddy. I don’t know what else to do,” whispers Alyssia, as if attempting to keep her voice low.

Sam and I both unaware of mother’s smirk. Sam and I both moving to leave. Sam already working on trying to locate the spot in where Alyssia currently was. “Got her. Just keep her talking.”

Grunting, I do exactly that. “Easy baby. Breathe. Remember, deep breaths. Calm breaths. Don’t do anything that could harm you or the child. Now, where are you?” I ask just as Sam and I both enter the car, a piece of me hoping she knew.

Sam already driving as we soon race in Alyssia’s direction. Her last known location. Alyssia quick to speak only to stop when a deep, rich voice I’ve never once heard speaks. His tone low. “Hello little mouse. Your coming with me. My boss wants you gone.”

Alyssia’s screams soon echoing the car. “NO! PLEASE. LET ME GO. GODS. DADDY!!”

The word daddy the only word I get as the line finally goes dead. Alyssia gone.

“NO!” I yell when all I get is static. Sam silent as well as we continue racing in the last known direction. My heart breaking at who could’ve done this. My mind spiraling at the thought of me losing my one important person.

A/N: Eek.. sorry guys.. but I hope the cliffhanger keeps you guessing. As for chapter 70, it will be posted I’m just not sure when, as I really need to focus before writing. But once it’s written then I’ll post it, just know it’s in the works. Until then, bye.
