Chapter 57: June’s POV
June’s POV
He didn’t take back his words. He just smiled at me and did not give a reply. What could this man be thinking?
I was trying to run away from temptation and he just wants to make it worse. How is this even going to work? I shouldn’t have invited him in the first place and that was how I could be safe.
“I want you to repeat those words,” I muttered, staring at him.
It’s just a simple answer that I want from you. “Do you want me to stay?” he asked again.
I opened my mouth in surprise, completely shocked by his boldness. I couldn’t even say a word but deep inside of me, I really wanted him to stay.
But I have to fight it. Inside my mind, I was agreeing with everything he was saying. I just didn’t want to let him know because my body was saying a different thing.
My body wasn’t ready for anything that he wanted to hear, and it wasn’t agreeing with my mind.
Even as I tried to hide it, he somehow managed to notice it and he always does. It was a trait that was magnetic to him. Maybe he was born like that and some people called it a blessing.
He took a deep breath, and then his son moved away from my wrist straight to my cheeks, gently massaging them. It was low and calm.
He didn’t look like he was going to stop. He acted like he was going to give me his own time to stop him. But then, I didn’t want it to get too far because it was dangerous.
I just should have stopped when he started at the very beginning. He somehow knows how to find his way around my body and sometimes it feels like I am being enchanted.
My eyes immediately closed for a second and that was all it took. I didn’t even complete a breath cycle before I felt the distance between us disappear.
His lips immediately brushed mine, and at first, it was soft, wet, and waiting for me to do the same because he felt like he was testing something.
He waited for a moment and when I didn’t pull away… everything changed in his eyes. That was exactly the moment he was waiting for. The moment when I wouldn’t fight him anymore. The moment that I would want him to continue with whatever he was saying to me.
This was because he knew that I wouldn’t say it out, but I wouldn’t fight it either.
After the first incident, I wanted him again, but when I realised that he was family, I didn’t cry for him anymore. I just wanted to think outside the box.
I wanted to get my strength back and I wanted to get distracted from him completely.
Something that I was trying so hard to stop had suddenly become something that I couldn’t resist. It doesn’t even make sense to me.
Now he was making it even more difficult because he was touched when not in a rush. He was doing everything calmly, and that was because he had a motive in mind.
He wasn’t trying to be so hard on me either. He was acting mature in everything he did. He made sure that they were completely in control.
He didn’t move when I told him to stop. He only moved because I didn’t say anything and that could only mean that I was enjoying every single thing.
But those decisions only made everything worse.
This was because I was feeling safe with him and I am not supposed to be like that around him.
Whatever we were doing was wrong and if it continues like this, it’s going to cause more damage. “I am not supposed to feel anything for you,” I said with a loud voice.
“Relax, just breathe in and breathe out,” he responded in a low voice.
I didn’t hesitate. I did exactly as he had instructed and I felt a little bit more comfortable. But I hate it. I hate the fact that I have to listen to every single word that comes out of his mouth.
I didn’t argue with him again.
When I finished with the dishes, I turned around and looked at him. He was seated just by the kitchen sink. It was already late and I didn’t want him driving at night either.
He wanted to stay and he finally got it.
“You can spend the night here,” I said to him.
He smiled at me and then immediately stood up to hug me. But I quickly stopped it.
“Don’t get carried away with your excitement, nothing is going to happen between us,” I muttered.
“You can’t take the couch, I will be on my bed.” I snapped.
The look on his face immediately changed.
I almost wanted to laugh because I didn’t want to believe that he would actually think that I was going to allow him to sleep on the same bed with me again.
That would be cruising because I had already used my hands in creating a temptation that I might actually fall into. And now, he wants to make it worse.
“I will do whatever you wish, but if you still want me to join you on the bed, it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s really cold out there.” he finally replied. “And.., you might actually need me to get you warmed up.”
So much guts.
I frowned and quickly ignored him.
After I took a shower, I threw a blanket over him and climbed straight to my bed. But I really wanted him by my side. How was I going to tell him?
I shouldn’t have even asked him to stay on the couch in the first place. I made a mistake. “Ouch… you are so silly,” I said to myself, trying not to get mad with the decision I made earlier.
Later that night… Everything was quiet again. But it was a different kind of quiet that I didn’t even like at all.
He was still there and I knew that he was not sleeping. He was probably thinking about being just right beside me.
And I was lying awake, staring at the ceiling. My heart was calm now… but my mind wasn’t.
What had I just done?
This wasn’t supposed to happen. I shouldn’t even have allowed him to stay inside the house because it’s a very big thorn in my head right now.
“I guess you can’t sleep either,” his voice immediately startled me when I expected it.
“You should be asleep, it will soon be morning,” I responded immediately.
“So do you too, it’s not really good to stay up too late. Do you want me to come over?” His annoying voice got me hooked again.
“This is not about you, I am just busy with my phone and that’s all. I will sleep when I am ready to.” I tried to force out a line that no one would even believe.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” he chuckled, already standing up from the couch.
Oh no…
