Chapter 16

The next day Nana woke up early to prepare breakfast. She was very happy that morning because she, Linda, and her father were going for a picnic at the beach; she has never seen a beach closely before, she just saw it from a far when she had her evening walks with Linda.

Though Nana and her father, plus Linda were close to the beach, they could only walk far away from it because you needed to pay to go inside. She was indeed looking forward to it.

Nana sung while cooking and also arranging the lounge, as she always does. She arranged the table and served breakfast for herself, Linda, and her father.

While Nana was about to go wake up her father and Linda for breakfast, her father's phone rang, he forgot it in the lounge a night before, I guess he was looking forward to his chat with Linda. Nana thought of taking the phone to her father but she decided not to wake him up, she answered the phone.

Nana: Hello, this is Nana speaking, my father is still sleeping, what can I do for you?

Caller: Oh God, it is you the witch.

Nana: I beg your pardon!

Caller: Give your father the phone and stop wasting my time.

Nana: Oh, it’s you. Hello stepmother, how are you? You are still rude as always, I thought you have changed ever since you threw me out of your mansion. I expected you to be happy now since there is no stranger in your mansion!

Caller: Put your father on the phone this minute.

Nana: My father is asleep; call him later, around 10:00 to be exact. He is still in the Christmas holidays you know! No need to wake him up so early in the morning.

Caller: This is an emergency; just take the phone to him.

Nana: Believe me, if it was an emergency, you wouldn't have enough time to call me names and insulting me. I guess you are missing us, too bad you chased us away. How are my brothers anyway, I mean Jelly and Donny since you decided to cheat on my father and gave Marcus and Altie to someone else. That was really bad of you mother!!

Caller: Who do you call mother? I’m not your mother! Who do you think you are, you are just a no-body, a village girl and you have the guts to talk to me? Tell me where you stay you bustard so that I can come and show you what I am made of.

Nana: No need to get angry stepmother, I am just stating facts here. Anyway, about where we stay, it is private information; I cannot share it with strangers either.

Caller: You are so annoying, go to hell! (She dropped the call).

Nana puts the phone down and she wondered why she spoke to stepmother like that. She got worried that her father will not be happy with her. She wondered if it was indeed an emergency call.

Nana ran to Linda's room to inform her about what she just did. Nana and Linda were very close friends; there were no formalities between them; that’s why Nana stormed into Linda's room without knocking.

Linda woke up immediately when Nana opened the door, before Nana could share what brought her into Linda's room, she saw her father in bed with Linda. Nana got embarrassed and she said sorry. She tried to go back outside the room but her father told her to come closer.

Nana's father told her not to apologize, he said: "Nana it is okay, you did not know that I was here. Remember I did tell you about Linda and me, I hope you are okay with us. We are sorry that we made you feel embarrassed."

Nana replied by saying that she has no problem with their relationship. She also apologized for not knocking before entering Linda’s room. She asked them to join her for breakfast.

While having breakfast, Max's phone rang again. Nana's father picked it up and answered it:

Max: Hello Caller: Oh, you finally answered, tell that witch of the daughter you have never to answer your phone.

Max: If you have nothing important to say, please don’t call me.

Caller: The children will be going back to school in a few days, send me their school fees.

Max: I know that I have children to take care of, don’t worry ex-wife; when that day comes, take my children to school, I already deposited their fees into the school account. They will also find everything they need for school with their School Mother.

Caller: What? Why did you do that? You should have given me the money and I buy everything they need. You know I’m the one who knows what my children need. By the way, that agent for our apartments did not deposit money to my account; she said I should call you about it.

Max: Oh!! I saved you the trouble my ex-wife by doing it myself, everything for the children is sorted. They are my children too, I know what they need for school so don’t be alarmed, everything will be at school. About the rent money from my six apartments; things have changed. They are no longer my apartments; I have six children and six apartments; do the math!

Caller: What did you say? Max, are you out of your minds? You have no right to do that to me; how will I survive? I’m going to sue you Max.

Max: I recommend you do that please, and when you are at it; don’t forget to tell the judge that you cheated on me and you have two children to show for it. You are still at my house because of my two children but if you want; you can give me my children and then you move in with your boyfriend.

Caller: She furiously hanged up the call!
