Chapter 15
Nana's father and Nana really felt bad about Linda's bad Christmas; she didn't enjoy herself during Christmas because she was busy worrying about how to escape from the village.
Nana's father brought a suggestion that maybe they can go spend some time together the next day. He asked Linda and Nana what they want to do tomorrow.
As usual Nana, the chatterbox was the first to answer, she went close to her father and said "father can we please go to the beach, my friends at school used to tell me that the beach is very beautiful; they said there are many very good things to do at the beach. Can we have a picnic there father?"
Nana's father agreed on this so is Linda. Nana said it is going to be a great picnic for the three of them. She said that she will wake up early and arrange everything for the picnic. She said good night to her father and Linda and then she went to bed.
When Nana left for bed, Linda and Nana's father started talking about how much they missed each other. Jokingly; Nana's father said that he will give a big present to Dorah if he meets with her someday; he said she helped his love come back to him. They both agreed to talk about their love to Nana the next day. They also went to bed.
Before sleeping, Linda decided to read the letter the motorbike man gave her with the bus ticket; it’s the letter Dorah sent to her the night she escaped from her family with the bus ticket. She opened it and she read it in silence.
Dear Linda,
I pray that our plan was executed very well and you are away from this village by now. Linda thank you for being such an understanding young lady, any other girl here in the village would have taken Paul's offer and became my co-wife. Thank you for saving my family.
Please Linda; don't tell anyone that it was me who helped you; if Paul and your family find out that I had a hand in your escape; I will be in big trouble.
I pray that your lover is waiting for you in the capital. Please be a good wife to your man, be obedient and always listen to reason. I have written my phone number below, please keep in touch with me; I would love to know what is going on with you and I will also be updating you about your family.

Linda wondered how miraculous God works; she couldn't believe that a woman who would've been so angry with her was the one who saved her from her greedy family.
Linda prayed to God to keep Dorah safe and happy; she prayed to God to take care of Dorah's family so that her husband does not mistreat her by marrying another woman as he wanted to do by marrying Linda. She promised to call Dorah the next day.
Linda looked at her bed and felt very lucky to have such a beautiful bed; she couldn't believe that she was in her own room away from her village and her greedy family.
Linda wondered how her family reacted after receiving the letter she left behind. She believed that running away was the best thing for her to do; she knew that her family will be hurt but it was the best option for her.
Linda felt happy deep inside that Nana’s father and his daughter still feel the same way about her; she promised herself never to let them down. While she was busy thinking; she heard a knock on her door, it was Nana's father!
Linda suddenly hid her letter and she opened the door. Nana's father asked her if he can come in; Linda agreed and he entered. Linda closed the door. Nana's father came with a bottle of wine and two glasses, he sat on Linda's bed and he said…
Nana's father: Linda, can you please join me for a glass of wine? I know you are very tired from your trip but I really cannot sleep without sharing a drink with you. I missed you so much, Linda.
Linda: Yes sir; I will join you, sir; it is true my journey was tiring but I feel much better now because I'm home with my two best friends. I also believe that I will sleep better after a glass of wine.
Nana's father: Stop it, Linda, please don't call me sir. I told you to call me Max, I feel very old when you call me Sir. Secondary my dear; I'm not your best friend, only Nana is your friend. Linda, you know what I am to you, don’t you?
Linda: "smiling" ok sir, oh I mean Max, I will not call you ‘sir’ again but you are my friend too, ok you are both my friends, and "you know what you are to me, Max. Don't you? (They both laughed).
Nana's father poured wine into the glasses, he gave one to Linda and they tossed to happiness. They both sipped on their wine while whispering sweet nothings to each other’s ears.
Linda: Sir, I mean Max, what are we going to do with Nana, what if she doesn't like this relationship of ours?
Nana's father: Oh Linda, don't worry about my daughter; she is so young yet so old. Imagine I talked to her about it when I went to her mother's village and guess what she told me, she said she knew it all along. She even said that she was surprised that my wife never noticed! I love her so much, in all my children; she is the only one who can read my thoughts. May God bless her always!
Linda: What? Did Nana say that? Eh, that child is something else, she is so knowledgeable about everything and she has a pure heart. Anyway, I'm really so happy with you Max and Nana. You don't know how scared I was in the village. I thought they will succeed in marrying me off. I thought you will also go back to your wife and you will leave me on my own. It was indeed a trying time for me; I am so glad that I’m here and with you.
Nana's father: Shhhhhhhhhhhhh don't ever say that again. I will never ever go back to that woman; she and her lover threw me out of my own house when I took Christmas presents to my children. I will let her keep the house for the sake of my children but I will never go back to her.
Linda darling, all I have is you my sweetheart; you may think that it was a sudden change of heart from my side but I loved you a long time ago; I had to keep my desires to myself. That woman would’ve killed you if she suspected anything. That is the reason why I did not say anything to you, Linda. Please, darling, don't doubt me.
Linda: its ok Max, I do understand you perfectly well. I also loved you then but there was nothing I could do. Your wife treated you like trash but I was helpless to even say anything; imagine a maid teaching the lady of the house how to treat a man! She would have killed me without even giving me a minute to explain.
Nana's father: You are right Linda; anyway at least we are both free from her tantrums. Let us enjoy our drink without thinking about other people; it is all about us tonight and we have to make it count. Nana's father and Linda drank their wine until it was finished.
Nana’s father went into the cellar for another bottle of wine, he opened it and he poured some more for Linda. They were both getting tipsy. Father put his arm around Linda’s waist, and he pulled her close to him, he then started kissing her.
According to Linda, she told her friends that it was her first time being kissed by a man; she felt that her whole body was at a boiling point; she didn’t know what to do and she did not want Max to stop kissing her. Max started undressing her slowly and lovingly, she felt very shy. She asked Max to switch off the lights first and she also told him that she is still a virgin.
Max told Linda that he does understand if she is not ready to sleep with him. He switched back the lights on and also apologized for the kiss. Linda felt bad that Max did not understand her, she did want him so badly but she was just scared.
Max got off the bed and kissed her a good night sleep on her chick. Before he reached a door knob to open; Linda pulled him back onto the bed, she immediately started kissing him. Deep in her heart, she convinced herself that she will do the same as it is done in the movies.
Max couldn’t believe what was happening, Linda was like possessed; she started unbuttoning his shirt. Very slowly, Max kissed and pushed Linda onto her bed; he slowly kissed her from head to toe.
Linda was in another world, she was not shy anymore and she didn’t care about whether the lights are on or off. In her own words, Linda said that that was a night she will never forget!
